Great news with the club going public on John stones, let's hope they see it through. Is there anything in the Shiqiri deal Ed? Would be a quality signing

I don't know what's going to happen with stones, clearly I would like him to stay a couple more seasons, but if he goes we just move on. no one player is bigger than the club and if he does go it will be for good money. but I will say this, I hope he doesn't go to chelsea just because of some of the comments by mourinho and the derisary bids thus far made. I generaly like mourinho but he can be arrogant and a wind up merchant. I hope man city or Everton tell everton they will match or better any offers made by chelsea and if stones does go he chooses to stay up north just to wipe that smug look off mourinhos face!

Man Utd apparently registering interest. If he does decide to go I think it would be prudent of us to play all of the clubs off each other. If it is done privately surely we can tell Man City whatever we want regarding other clubs' bids to ensure the highest possible amount is leached from them.

Ultimately, I don't want him to leave as I think it is bad news to sell the players we should be building a team around, and I think it sends the wrong message out. Fellaini I could accept as it was clear he didn't fit the Martinez model, but Stones epitomises the way we should be playing from the back.

If as stated in the garbage tabloids that the 2 Manc sides are about to come in is true, then Stones will go for 35 million, as long as we get to spend that cash

All ifs and buts, but if he does go we need to buy replacements 1st or risk paying over the odds later. If he does go I'd like 30+mil and Hernandez from United then use some of that on van dijk and dragovic.the board can pocket the rest or give back to the fans and get Shaqiri or another class player as a show of intent.

Why don't the hierarchy just come out on spn & say stones is not 4 sale @ any price & give the lad a new contract effectively doubling his money that should do the trick.
If were to show any ambition need 2 keep him & build team round him 4 the future.Martinez sez we don't have 2 sell so that being the case he should stay.
I still think he'll go if not in this window certainly the Jan one for sure because everyone has a price.
Can't blame the lad who no doubt has been unsettled by mourhino, Cahill & co so in effect similar to the lescott situation only matter of time b4 it happens.
Better 4 us if it does go ahead that other clubs city,utd & Chelsea have an auction sell to highest bidder 35-40 mill not a penny less.

I wouldn't take any less than 50m for stones. If sterlin? Cost 49m then sure stones is worth 50m as its just important to have a great defence as well as a good attack
