Right Joey Barton rumours. I think he has done some bad things in the past but I honestly think with the right man management and if he got his head screwed on he is a quality player he proved that in France last season plus he is a blue and surly would give everything for the blue shirt. So I say give him a go on a free on half wages we could end up looking back at a bargain.

Signing a player does usually pose a risk. However, surely the free transfer and 50% wage reduction eliminates the element of risk. Ossie, Feli, Gibbo, Barkley, McCarthy, and Barton. That seems to me like a very strong Central midfield.

Dont understand all this "he is a blue" BS. He has disrespected our club by mooning our supporters and not to mention him assaulting a 15yr old Everton fan.

Then there is all the other crap this lad has pulled throughout his career. He is nearly 31 and he will never change, he is a person who I don't want anywhere near our club.

The guy's a person. I'm all for giving someone a second chance but this kid has had many opportunities to sort himself out and prove he's a different character but every single time he does something despicable and never learns. We should steer well clear of this kid, we don't want or need him dragging the name if our great club down.

In the end of the day he's a blue, we can't just turn our back. He wants to play for his beloved boyhood team. He would take a 50% pay cut I doubt we would see Rooney do that for us. So on a free and he would give a 200% every game he played. Either way i'd rather have Barton on a free over McCarthy for a reported 15 mill.

I agree a player of his quality with strict management would be a bargin, its his last chance to prove himself in the premier league. he did well in france and when focused can behave himself.

Totally disagree! our club is a stable club and this season could be a massive season for us. Why would we want to take the risk and have this thug on our books to ruin it all because I think he doesn't know how to behave himself and has proved that at nearly all the clubs he has played for! Funny how now he is desperate for a club he wants to play for us!

Erm, so am I (a blue) and so do I (want to play for Everton), doesn't mean it's going to happen, or should happen.
At the end if the day he's made his choices in life and has to live with the consequences, if this means Roberto won't take him so be it. He only has himself to blame, nobody else.
Now, he may well end up signing but it won't be because he's a blue and wants to play for Everton it will be because El Bob thinks he can do a job for the team/squad. Sentiment will play absolutely no part on the decision.
