Ed I was just wondering if you could clear something up for me mate. A few months ago there were rumours on here of us receiving 25% of Rooney's sale if he goes above £30 million. Is that 25% of the whole sale, i. e. if he went for £40 mil, we'd get £10 mil or is it that we get 25% of any money over the £30 mil mark? So if he was sold for £40 mil, we'd get £2.5 mil? Cheers Ed.

BitterBlue {Ed025's Note - 25% of the profit, so your last figure would be near the mark mate..

Thats awful negotiating by us, we should have put a clause in that would have got us a lot more money than that especially considering Rooney's potential at the time.

To be honest if he goes for 40million then pocketing 2.5m for a player that left 10 years ago for 25m+ is great at the time the chances of him leaving utd was not even thought about so it will be a bonus look at Southampton they won't get a penny if he goes to Madrid and they choose to take 1.5m instead of % of future sales they could of been looking at 10m+

The final payment on the rooney deal was performance related on trophies achieved at Man U and ended a couple of seasons ago. We receive nothing else from now on.
