Great article by Chris Bascombe in the
Telegraph on Everton and its standing. On another note, Southampton fans not happy about talk of Everton pinching their players.
Have to agree with them. there is something unsavoury about talking of taking players from a club after you have stolen their manager. we didn't like it over Baines and moyse at Manchester United and should remain consistent in our views now.

If the players are under contract they can always say no like we did with Stones and Baines. If the players start to push for a move they have to decide if they want to keep an unhappy player. It's the way football is nowadays, contracts aren't really worth the paper they're written on and loyalty is non existent.

I never had a problem with Moyes buying our players. However, it was the way he went about it.

First of all bidding for them on his last day of his contract with us!

Secondly saying in a press conference on Sky that he would let Baines and Fellani go if he was still manager to further their careers.

As long as we do it right and in the same manner as we normally buy players then I don't see a problem with it. They can always say no like we have done.

I do agree Oscar. What's the saying though? What goes around comes around! We have had our fair share of dire years.

Unfortunately the way the game has gone money talks. We're in the fortunate position now that we are attracting people who have even said they were happy somewhere else. Namely Koeman.

Time will tell if that translates into players doing the same. I can't really see just because Koeman has become our manager that we all of a sudden can't sign Southampton players.

Its an open market. If we bid for a player it doesn't automatically mean we get the player. Why should we not be able to sign players just because we got a manager off the same club?

I know if I was a Southampton supporter I would be thick and saying all sorts about Everton. Unfortunately that's the way it has gone. Not Everton F. C. 's fault.

Have to just put up with it. God knows we had to before. Look at other players that left Everton, not only Felliani, Arteta, Lescott and Pienaar. That's the transfer market. Every player is for sale. If the club are willing to take the price. Sometimes even when they don't want to sell.

Would just like to point out that zero players followed MoPo to Spurs when he left. Usually agreement between clubs to avoid this for an agreed period and I suspect this has been part of the long discussions (not just compensation) .

Secondly, RoKo did a good job at Saints but some players will not be unhappy to see him leave.

We will see one or two leave, but I suspect not to Everton (no disrespect but suspect they just have different ambitions. )

All this assumes we now recruit a new manager that the players are happy with! (But the club should be aware of that. )

Don't think that many of us have any problem with Everton. We just don't like people we help fund to enjoy a certain life style telling us porkies. Doesn't gel with the Southampton Way.

'no disrespect but suspect they just have different ambitions'. Care to elaborate on that.

I appreciate Koeman shouldn't of said he had no interest. It looks bad now that he said he wasn't interested and then done a complete u-turn. I'd be cheesed if our manager done that.

Southampton seem to be a well run club. I think Koeman leaving won't even be a blip in time to come for Southampton.
