I'm happy with Rafa as manager but here's a question for you.
With some of the fans not happy with his appointment being a former Red manager would fans feel the same if Brendan Rogers or Klopp had been appointed instead?

So if you ignore what he said about the club which is hard to do you have two managers at their peak and one towards the end of his career. So no I wouldn't feel the same about taking either Klopp or Rogers. I would however, if it had been Pellegreni or Ranieri.

Don’t agree Benitez is at the end of his career at all. I’m sure the likes of Sir Bobby Robson, Carlo Ancielotti, Marcelo Bielsa, Sir Alex Ferguson and Woy Hodgson wouldn’t agree either!

Sa90, how is it hard to ignore after how many years? As the manager of LFC, his job was to defend his team and players which is exactly what you expect from a manager. His comments were born out of frustration that day. He's explained himself, not that he had to especially after the names we have called him over the years.
He obviously wanted the job badly, he spoke well in his first interview, he seems to have a plan to move forward. If that's not enough for some of you then maybe you should look at yourselves. I mean, a grudge over a few words is quite sad really, his jibe certainly doesn't warrant bedsheets on walls or threats of any nature. Some just need to grow up.

In what other industry would you prejudice a job interview based on the fact the applicant was successful with one of your biggest rival companies? 🤣.

Just to clarify his comments don't deserve anything like the sort of abuse he has had. Benitez is a divisive appointment and people hold grudges, who am I to tell them if they are right or wrong. We obviously differ on were Benitez is in his career I don't have a problem with that. I answered the question with a clarifying statement. As for the other managers mentioned by DPP I would not consider any of them either, as I think they are/ were all in the twilight of their careers at a similar age. I also hope Benitez is a success at the club and he will have my support until things change significantly, it doesn't mean I have to like the appointment though.

That's the thing, sa90, those who hold the grudge against rafa seriously need to take a step back! You don't have to like the appointment, I haven't liked the majority of our last 5, but we all still want EFC to be successful so we have little choice but to get behind the team and manager. Fingers crossed it's the right appointment, whoever came in had a hell of a job to do. It's more magnified with rafa in charge.

At the end of his career, I would like to thank you on behalf of myself and all the over 60s who are out grafting day after day and don’t consider ourselves at the end of our career, your not old in your 60s life is only just beginning.
