Have to admit it's probably been the most worrying season for me since the last day Wimbledon escape many years ago.
I'm not a particular Rafa fan and you've got to admit his greatest triumph in Istanbul can't be attributed to managerial skills. I did think though that he would have the ability to organise us defensively and read the game well enough to make appropriate substitutions. He is a stubborn manager and hasn't gone about winning over the fans.
The WLD record posted the other day is abysmal and reinforces the point that it could not have been any worse and we would have learned an awful lot more if young players had been introduced.
But it is what it is. I accept we are in a financial mess and need to sacrifice several marketable players. I am hopeful that not too much fan pressure will be put on the two new full backs. They both look athletes and have a bit of height which I like in a full back. Hopeful of another signing or two. I just hope we start to attack at home and never persist with this back three / five stuff as it invariably goes pear shaped.

{Ed025's Note - im not getting over excited just yet tedster, these 2 new recruits are just what the doctor ordered but will they play?, his record up to now does not actually bode well for youngsters starting games so im keeping my powder dry mate..

I think they will both be in the squad for Hull ED. Patterson likely to start as Seamus needs a rest and Kenny has done alright but if he was thought of as the backup to Seamus why buy Patterson. Mykolenko - I think it will depend on who is available as Rafa might still go for Godfrey or Branthwaite as left back. Or he might just show how stubborn he is and keep Seamus there

Hull though should be the ideal time to blood them. We will see.

Look at other week. Dobbin comes on and gives us a breath of fresh air up front. Simms held his own but he's a poacher, not movement player like dobbin. Then low and behold against Brighton, rondon comes on. Branthwaite was very good in defence but injured fir Brighton game. Doubt he will get back in team straight away. End of the day these youngsters gave us energy, fighting spirit and entertainment. So we'll not see them play for a long time.

They have to play ed025, we are leaking far too many goals. Goals which many could’ve been avoided with basic defending. These 2 look (from videos) much better defensively than Coleman and Digne. Hopefully that eliminates some goals from crosses. How we tackle the inability’s of our our CH’s (Keane, Holgate, Godfrey) to head a dead ball away I don’t know. Mina isn’t the answer as he’s too injury prone. Maybe if we wore yellow jerseys he’r be fit more often to play.

{Ed025's Note - a blue jersey with a yellow streak up the back would do joe.. :)
