And me Ed mate how long have we waited for all of this to happen, best thing in years for Everton, time to move on and forget the last few years.

{Ed025's Note - let’s see how that transmits to things on the pitch before we start celebrating GB. But I agree that we seem to be making a better fist of it this time mate..

Do you think we will still get both Maupay and Diaz Guernsey?
How do you feel about us spending over 30million pounds (that’s 30million of our restricted finances) on Maupay and Dwight McNeil.

3.) 26 Aug 2022
26 Aug 2022 10:45:46
Does that mean Maupay can be in squad for tomorrow?

{Ed025's Note - possibly swinners. But it’s a tight time line mate..

Blu1 instead of looking at negatives look at the positives Macneil is 22 and yet to play in his proper position and has no one to cross the ball into yet some fans have already branded him rubbish what a joke as for Maupay he is 26 and has roughly the same goalscoring record as Richarlison and our fans idolised him yet say Maupay is not good enough I am actualy at a loss at what our fans want.

5.) 26 Aug 2022

As I understand it he has to be registered before midday today so incredibly tight.

{Ed025's Note - your right mate..

He will be available for Saturday, people going on and on about finances which none of us understand fully anyway, am just happy we have a striker in and another on the way happy days for me.

{Ed025's Note - and me mate..

Lamps…. I like Maupay in all fairness I do, very much like the edge he has to his game and think he will fit right in at our club. His goalscoring stats are the same as Richy but his creation, working back etc is nowhere near the rate of Richy but I’m not that fussed about that tbh as I just want someone who can put that white thing in the back of the net and he has proved he can do that in this league ??.
Can I ask though what you think McNeil’s position is as some on here have said left wing ?. I hope not as he will be the slowest winger in the league and I couldn’t care less if he had a left foot of Sheedy he ain’t starting ahead of Gordon or Gray (that’s there preferred positions) some say he is a 10… now that’s an Interesting one for me as his technique on the ball is very good. I hat say you my friend?

Couldn’t agree more Lamps. the moaning on here about players before they have kicked a ball for us or about players who have not even played 10 games of the season yet…. Unbelievable.

Maupay scores 10 goals a season which is not bad in the Premier League. Only two players scored 20 goals or more last season. Plus he’s a different type of player to DCL giving us options.

Lampard and Thelwell have a plan and personally, I like what I’m seeing. Not scoring enough, yes sure but that will change. The spine is much better. They’ve had half a season and one pre season and we are improving slowly. Plus all of this whilst managing our FFP issues.

Before Lampard came in we all agreed the next manager needed 3 years to sort out the mess… yet I see so many commenting that he’s no good and needs to go. Give me strength Blues… stop embracing negativity, it’s so easy to moan. harder to to be positive but important to be.

UTT.

Well I'm not overly excited by maupay but I am willing to give him time but this fella has to hit the ground running or I fear for him.
What on earth is this club doing taking these risks? He is NOT a prolific goal scorer. Neither was richy. We sell richy and get a fella with a similar goal record? WE NEED A GOALSCORER! WHAT ON EARTH IS UP WITH THIS CLUB? WE NEED SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WHERE THE GOAL IS EVERY GAME NOT EVERY 5/ 6 GAMES. So frustrating watching us replace like for like when the problem was and still is WE HAVENT GOT A GOAL SCORER. FOOTBALL IS SIMPLE. IF YOU WANT TO WIN GAMES YOU NEED A PLAYER ON THE PITCH WHO KNOWS WHERE THE GOAL IS.

{Ed025's Note - rich was sold to prevent us being a victim of FFP pauly. Which would have seen us incur a points deduction. We are financially vulnerable at the moment mate due to previous mistakes. It is what it is I’m afraid and the club is doing it’s best with the resources it has available Left give them a chance hey mate..

26 Aug 2022 12:09:07
left or right wing for me Blu1 as he can whip a great ball in and with us playing wing backs he won't have to dart up and down the line so pace isn't a necessity but i think he deceives as he isn't that slow so for me he was a good buy.

Just go with the flow and look forward to the future.

I live near Brighton and have watched them several times over the past 2-3 years and have several friends with season tickets and Maupay does have the same stats as Richy but he also had 3 times the amount of chances Richy had. Richy would have scored 20+ goals in the Brighton team with the amount of chance they create. I'm not saying Maupay is a bad player, but my Brighton mates are thanking us for splashing £15m on him. I hope that he proves me wrong on the pitch though.

We all want to see the club make progress and if we are in a better place at the end of the window than we were at the start of it, that’s progress.

It’s going to take time, we need to be patient.

I just hope we stick behind Frank. He needs time. to sort this mess out. We have to accept that it’s going to be another difficult season; we survived by the skin of our teeth last year. The last thing we need is another managerial change.

Think back to the early days of Moyes, we stuck by him and reaped the rewards.

Sorry GB but we've been going with the flow since Moshiri joined and we very nearly ended up relegated. If I sound like I'm moaning then it is just because I am sick of seeing my club struggling through poor recruitment decisions. How many managers and their backroom staff have we had plus all the money and they've all failed to bring in a goalscorer? 500m pounds later and we still haven't replaced lukaku! That is my concern. You can't tell me we haven't been able to identify and pay for a world class striker over the last 5/ 6 years. We could have 4/ 5 times over and yet here we are AGAIN struggling for goals going into another season .

15.) 26 Aug 2022
26 Aug 2022 13:46:30
Sorry Pauly but since Frank has come in our team now is vastly different to last season and if we get half way up the table this season then that will do me mate, this will take several windows but hey one step at a time eh.

16.) 26 Aug 2022
26 Aug 2022 13:49:13
Don't know too much about Maupay bar from what I've seen in a few games, but he does score goals and that's what we need. If we can get ten out of him this season then that's clawing back what we lost with Richarlison. If we can add Diaz into the mix then there's a few more goals, at least I would expect so. Just need our attacking midfielders to chip in with a few too.
Pauly, because of the mistakes made since FM took over, this is the way we have to do things for a few years. It's about small steps of progression now, not throwing cash around to try and buy our way into the fabled 'top 6'

17.) 26 Aug 2022
26 Aug 2022 12:37:29
Ed25 I am an evertonian mate and despite my rant I understand the current situation but the money that has spent already could've gone towards a better standard of goalscorer first and then look for creativity. My concern is this club continues to overlook the main issues and collects players who have no end product because there is no target to aim for. We have lacked goals since lukaku. That is just way too long for me. They know the problem, we know the problem but to say we have been financially restricted but then spend 50 odd million on 2 midfielders before we even look at the goal scoring problem just wreaks of the mistakes we have been making for the last 5/ 6 seasons.

{Ed025's Note - it’s not easy to attract players in our current situation pauly. Especially the top talent mate..

18.) 26 Aug 2022
26 Aug 2022 14:05:18
Shouldn’t worry and get bogged down in finances, support the team and be glad we have a striker.

19.) 26 Aug 2022
26 Aug 2022 16:45:57
We all know how it is now. Pauly is saying we have had the same problem for years and with good decision making we wouldn't have been in this situation. Even this pre-season and now 3 games in we seem to have been under prepared. The Plan seems to me to have been going across the lines instead of down the spine, then fill in. Priority targetted a CB, DM, Striker from week one. It just seems to have been madness once again.
As for stronger 1pt from 9 says otherwise, Brentford tomorrow, let's get something going and shut us 'moaners' up.

20.) 26 Aug 2022

Mcneil assisted once all season last season and scored no goals. It is fair just and reasonable to criticise that signing. He's shocking.

Well put dfs.

22.) 26 Aug 2022
26 Aug 2022 18:50:42
Blue-tit Mcneil created something like 43 goal scoring chances hardly his fault if Burnleys strikers didn't score and maybe give him at least a season before you brand him shocking as fans like you grate on me never happy always moaning here's a thought back the ****in players maybe just maybe they will surprise you.

We are damned if we do; damned if we don’t!

I’m just happy we have someone who can play upfront! Good luck to the lad and hope he can get up and running in his first game.
