So where is this extra £30 million supposed to come from? As if we’re not FFP’d up to the hilt already.

Fair point Mickey.

By all accounts the deal is depending on Iwobi &/ or Gray going.

The Beto deal is structured to be paid next season so probably gives us bit of breathing space for now I guess.

Structured as Mocker says.

Said at the start of the window we'd spend 50-60million this window.
The 40 mill loan has gone some way to ease the cash flow and any signings are amortised over the length of the deal.

Don't think the payment structure of a deal has a baring on ffp, but does impact cash flow.

I think one of the reasons we are selling our younger assets is because they have a positive impact on ffp as it's pure profit. Then it's just the high earners that don't provide value we need to shift, so Iwobi going would be a huge boost as would Gomes/ Gbamim. Grey again came in for very little outlay so is mostly profit although his wages are low.

Good points, yes. Thelwell does take a lot of flak, but by the end of Friday it might well be the case that he’s done a good job of both balancing the books and giving us decent attacking options. Selling Keane to the knackers yard for glue and getting the Swiss fella in his place would be a very decent transfer window indeed.

Yes EFC but Iwobi would still bring in a bigger end profit than Gray at the figures being quoted.
Iwobi has less than a year left so will be on the books for around a fifth of his transfer fee.
Which if I rememeber correctly was 28 mill.
