All this talk about forwards signing is a waste of time. We do not need forwards. We need to get in a top quality center half. I also think Stones has to play. Jags is quite woeful at present. His form has dipped so much.but that does not mean he will not regain it. Stones came in at the end of last season and we went 11 games unbeaten. Played half the "top" sides and he performed really well. His distribution is much better than Jags. Having said all this, we have defended very poorly as a team and Jags is not the only one defending poorly. McGeady was a waste of space against Chelsea. He was no threat going forwards and just seemed to jog back slowly when we lost possession. Too much of a luxury player. He needs to look at the work rate put in by Naismith and Mirrallas. Anyway, what we need is a quality center back. Especially now Duffy has gone. He was probably 4th choice, but the ages of Distin and Jags means they cannot play all season and not expect to pick up an injury or two here and there.

Mcgeady no threat going forward against Chelsea? An assist to Naismith the pass that released Coleman for the assist to mirallas and the corner for the disallowed goal - I would say that was a pretty potent threat wouldn't you?

For me it's not that jags and distan are poor. But they have no competition. Yes stones is good but still a little raw. Al just does not get enough game time. So if this ranaldo (spelling) is any good I think it will give them the kick up the backside that is needed.
