Can we get off our players backs a little bit? For me we are prioritising the right competition. What is the point in finishing top 6? I would rather finish 12th and win the Europa or at least give it a real go and if our league form drops because of it then what the heck, were we going to win the league this season?
Also I have done a little digging. So far this season across all competitions Aiden McGeady has scored 1 and assisted 3, Pienaar has scored 0 and assisted 2, Leon Osman 1 goal 1 assist. So who exactly do we want as a stand in for Mirallas? To say we should play Naismith ahead of McGeady is short sighted, we need at least one player in the attacking 4 willing to hog the line and try and take a man on crossing from the byline. Naismith, Eto'o, Barkley, Osman and Pienaar are not going to do that so we will have zero width.
We can only use what we have, injuries are a nightmare this season none more so than Mirallas for me as he is the only attacking player we have that can stretch a defense.
I was a bit disappointed when Barry came off that we didn't put Ross in the middle, we didn't need two holding midfielders yesterday, and put Naismith on in the attacking quartet.
Nobody covered themselves in glory yesterday, Coleman my personal favorite was absolutely awful, lost the ball so many times and offered nothing yet he isn't being slated. I thought Ross showed a few glimpses but was fairly quiet, Eto'o did ok and I thought McGeady did ok.
All in all I just find the negativity so annoying, be realistic as to where we are as a club, 2 points dropped last week at home, not this week away.

It is evident that Roberto wants to win Europe. At present we are still sat pretty in prem league without hitting any consistent form.
Once this happens a surge up the league will occur and it will be all about keeping the momentum going. I think we may add one or two in January, but we do still have injuries and this isn't helping.
Rom is still young and I thought against Lille he showed glimpses of how his game is improving. Eto will definiately help him.
Ross B still recovering and will find form so at present things aren't so bad but we can do better. Grade - B.

Nice one Shakey, that's exactly the point. The league is guaranteed income. No business on the planet would prioritise less a guaranteed income streem. Especially one that yealds as much as the premier league.
