31 days to recruit. Hopefully a lot of prep has already been done and we won't have to wait until the last day to get deals over the line. Everyone has an opinion on where we need to strengthen but for me the priority has to be an attacking midfielder who has a bit of craft.

We need someone who can see a pass (forward) and not be tempted to turn around and pass backward. Someone who can weigh in with a few goals, who can strike from distance, a player who just wants to score or be part of a goal scoring move.

We have a 25 goal a season striker, but after that there is no one who can get near to double figures. This is sub standard for any team with European aspirations.

So I would be really happy with any new signings that can share the burden of goal scoring with Lukaku or any player that can make us more relentless in an attacking threat.

Hopefully over the next month we will see what Koeman, with the help of our DOF can achieve to make us a team that shows more going forward. Whilst of course not neglecting the back.

{Ed002's Note - Lookman will be a good addition TA. There is a CB potentially on the cards as I have mentioned and an enquiry has been made recently about Nicolas Pepe (which implies a Gerard Deulofeu departure) but there is much interest in Pepe with Lyon and Newcastle both looking for a January deal.}

1.) 01 Jan 2017 17:42:22
This is what annoys me everyone saying we need a better creative midfielder barkley is that player but unfortunately every time he breaks forward he only has lukaku to pass to. Gerrard is right when he says our own fans our ruining barkley.

2.) 01 Jan 2017 17:54:40
Thing is willy. Moyes didn't trust him, Martinez wasn't honest with him and Koeman is frustrated with him. So exactly what is it that these 3 managers failed to see that you see?

And if indeed he turns out to be the player you and Gerrard say he will be then brilliant. We have one homegrown number 10 and another for competition. Win win. Not so annoying now is it.

3.) 01 Jan 2017 18:04:47
Cheers for the info Ed.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

4.) 01 Jan 2017 18:27:58
Toffee Ace I see where your coming from.

The thing for me is no wonder Barkley comes across as confused. Just read your 3 line summary of the managers he played under. And he's still only 23!

Enough to make anyone think twice about what they are doing and how to do it.

5.) 01 Jan 2017 18:28:17
Are we in for Memphis Depay?

6.) 01 Jan 2017 20:43:59
Toffee ace I think the 3 manages u mentioned have failed to see that there is no one to support rossi barkley.

7.) 01 Jan 2017 21:04:31
Very possibly Shakey. So would you support him with a creative midfielder and play Ross just behind Lukaku? I still think we need one.

8.) 02 Jan 2017 13:40:32
There is a great will here wanting Barclay to succeed because he is local but let's face it he has allways flattered to deceive time to get rid I feel.

9.) 02 Jan 2017 21:01:15
The main issue with Barkley is he is consistently played out of position. He is not and never will be a "No 10" he needs to be dropped deeper into midfield and creative players ahead of him for him to flourish. That's what all 3 managers have failed to do.

10.) 02 Jan 2017 23:51:42
Ross has got ability but no brain! He's too slow to recognise a pass. He simply does think quick enough for the prem.

31 Aug 2016 17:41:38

Pos jimy and gibbo goin. if only sissoko comes in that'll leave us a bit short. hope there's moreally than 1 centre mid coming. Still optimistic.

2.) 31 Aug 2016 19:02:19
McCarthy won't go anywhere unless we get someone else in for cover.

3.) 31 Aug 2016 19:31:11
And don't make it up. Everton in talks per SSN. Not Jimmy Mc
Big difference.

31 Aug 2016 16:59:30
NSNO reporting that Brahimi is on his way. Quite a reliable site so fingers crossed.

1.) 31 Aug 2016 17:04:32
Really hope so and a few others.

2.) 31 Aug 2016 17:10:56
That report's a day old at least Toffee Ace. Just another site making guesses.

3.) 31 Aug 2016 17:20:09
Sorry, there is an updated report saying the same thing. let's wait. and hope.

4.) 31 Aug 2016 17:35:37
I'll take anything right now Brian I'm getting a bit nervous 😩.

31 Aug 2016 16:56:29
Jack Wiltshire is on his way to Bournemouth. Thank goodness because I'm fed up with hearing about this pointless transfer. Maybe now SSN will focus on some transfer news and shake off their arsenal obsession.

We're not going to get Simione, we may get Dyche, we could get Silver but probably get Allerdyce.

That's why we can't have Unsworth on a permanent basis. That first half team away at Leicester was a poor choice. It totally played to Leicester's strengths. You just can't do that. I'm a bit disappointed with him to be honest as it was very naive to think we could play so wide with no support for the full backs.

1.) 29 Oct 2017 18:02:40
Agree totally Toffe mate, we need a new manager and Quick this is bloody serious we are not going to pick up many points before Jan, and heaven forbid Big Sam or someone who can stop this rot whole team apart from Jordan just not motivated, believe me we stay like this and we will get relegated.

2.) 29 Oct 2017 18:22:51
I'm disappointed with Unsworth saying he knows what the fans want and he's picked a team that will play off the front foot, so why didn't they start like that? I expected a lot more from today but these players are just not delivering and they are not nearly as good as most of us thought. Rooney and Baines need benching with Williams. I'm still hopeful Sig will come good and hopefully Ross will return like a new signing. Tom and Gana in the middle don't work and both were shocking at preventing the counter attack for Vardy's goal after Baines's poor delivery. Worrying times! I thought it was all down to Koeman but something is really broken at our club. Now I pin my hopes on Coleman and Bolaise returning and the possibility of a striker in the January sales.

3.) 29 Oct 2017 18:49:35
We're in a desperate state boys and we need to do whatever it takes to get out of it, fkin disillusioned with it all lads.

23 Oct 2017 13:51:38
So Koeman sacked and Unsy is in charge (tbc) . Please Unsy, play the players in their right position. Why oh why do managers think that they can put square pegs in round holes and then get results. Even more so keep their jobs.

Anyway. Very few on here will be that disappointed that he’s gone. Probably correct to say that the season starts now.

Skylark mate. You’ve said this from the start so fair play to you.

Toffee ace

1.) 23 Oct 2017 14:51:50
Yea Skylark you were accused of being negative by plenty on here, myself included. As Toffee ace says you were right about Koeman. Hopefully next appointment will be better.

21 Oct 2017 20:04:34
Ok, we are all going on about Koeman not being good enough and not doing his job properly, except a few. But we have a job to do too. We're supporters and need to do just that. The old lady is like a library right now. So like it or not, we are also not doing our job properly.

Now I know we have a right to air our disdain at what the team is serving up but we need to give our voice to the team from the off and try to do our part.

If after we have roared the team on they are as rubbish as we have seen, or the tactics are as inept as we have witnessed lately then fine, boo all we want. It's our right. But we're supporters and fans, chosen and privileged. So let's do our job properly and if at the end we have something to cheer, then stick your chests out and be proud to be the best supporters in the country.

Who knows, it may be just what the team needed.

Toffee ace

1.) 21 Oct 2017 20:27:22
Agree toffee we also have a job to do the old lady is nothing like it was in the 70s and 80s but I don't think many grounds are any more hits just the way football has changed and I think for the wors my friend.

2.) 22 Oct 2017 00:42:09
Good post mate.

3.) 22 Oct 2017 07:09:41
The ground will be shaking today, only because of the wind though.

01 Oct 2017 17:04:23
I don't think that the board will sack Koeman as they know they failed to deliver the striker that we need. I'm not saying this mess is not his fault, but the board will be patient for this reason.

I don't have much faith that he will turn this around but I just can't see this board sacking him and further I think they will back him in January and bring a striker in. Then he will be expected to turn it around and th board will be justified in sacking him if he doesn't.

1.) 01 Oct 2017 17:09:31
We all knew Mr AWOL was leaving 6 months ago so he had plenty of time to get a replacement in and failed the buck stops at his door.

2.) 01 Oct 2017 17:20:19
That's exactly how I see it mate. I think most managers would struggle to get a tune out of half a dozen number 10s, an aging defence and no strikers. I don't think Koeman has the ability to turn it around, but can't see anyone else doing it either at this stage. If we're still in this position in December, ditch him then and bring someone else in before the window opens.

3.) 01 Oct 2017 17:32:52
Just seen that's koeman said "the solutions starts with the commitment of the players" after the game.

The solution starts with having the right players in the right positions on the pitch.

4.) 01 Oct 2017 17:46:05
Deluded and arrogant. he has got to go for me now. I honestly thought he'd have risen to challenge today. his post match feedback and team selection says it all.

He’s never been consistent, always has some form of attitude wobble every season and not lived up to his billing.

On his day, he’s been brilliant but those days are nowhere near often enough. Let Moyes have him.

Yes if we could shut up shop that would be great. Unsy can’t put a team out to do that though, and if he continues to have wingers who don’t support our aging or inexperienced full backs away from home then this won’t improve. I don’t get his tactics away from home at all. And the results show it. Yes play them at Goodison but be more compact on the road.

It does sound like I’m slating the team I admit, but the answers to our problems cannot be found within the club. Our summer of free spending has not worked out and we are short a decent striker and pace at the back. It will be difficult to correct this in January so we are going to need to recruit a quality manager who can organise us into a side hard to break down.

If we were to draw at Palace, I’d have preferred a nil nil result, just to give the back 4/ 5 a bit of confidence. Build on it and slowly get us back to being hard to beat.

As the saying goes, “right people, right place, right time”. For Unsy that’s the under 23s and the sooner the board recognise this and appoint the new manager the better for everyone.

Or we could get a manager to put a team out there with the many millions of pounds worth of talent we have, to create our own goals so that we don’t have to rely on ref incompetence and GK error to get a point at the bottom club in the league.

We are shocking right now and Unsy, as much as I like the fella, is not the guy to change it.

Well our expectations are a draw at Palace who are rank awful. They could and should have beaten us. If we are riding our luck and only getting a point off Palace then that is enough alarm bells for me. This needs sorting before it’s too late.

He slipped and went into Lennon. Some say pen, others no. I thought the defender was unlucky. Just my opinion. You can’t escape the reality that we could have lost both games as easy as winning and drawing. Look, we have no manager and are struggling with Rhino. This needs sorting and Dyche is the one for me.
