Geuye is in France having a medical today if reports are true. So expect to see some fast movement for his replacement.

Ed, do you think Chelsea would do business on a permanent Zouma deal, or are they just loaning him until the time is right to use him?

Toffee ace

{Ed002's Note - At the moment it is a straight loan and given they are in the process of making changes at CB by next season he would likely end up as cover. If he were to ask to leave and decide on Everton as his next destination, then Everton need to make a proposal to Chelsea about buying him at the end of his loan in the summer. If the player wants to leave and the proposed deal satisfies all parties, then it may be an option - but there is some interest from elsewhere.}

1.) 13 Jan 2019 19:52:52
Great info. Thanks Ed002.

2.) 13 Jan 2019 21:43:43
Pity about interest from elsewhere but I have to say not surprising. I knew the lad was a good player having watched him and then for us. I particularly like his runs out of defence. Seems to me our loans (apart from Digne) are were our best business.

Ed002, you mentioned yesterday that Chelsea had pulled out of pursuing Bernard because he was a bit light weight for the league. Reports today are saying they could still come back in. Do you know if there is any truth to these reports? Or has their stance not changed.

Toffee ace

{Ed002's Note - I explained what I know.}

1.) 07 Aug 2018 14:16:57
Lightweight? Never understood this term. If that’s the case surely when the likes of Silva and Coutinho come to the Prem they were also “lightweight”? Players adapt.

2.) 07 Aug 2018 15:20:23
I agree BitterBlue. Was it Joninhio who played for Middlesbrough years ago who was about 6 stone soaking wet? There are plenty of examples of small players that made it in the premier league.

3.) 07 Aug 2018 17:07:30
They get more protection these days too. It’s more whether they can adapt to the culture and the climate - living in Ukraine should mean Liverpool will be cosmopolitan by comparison.

Ed, Do we get anything from the Deulofeu sale from Barcelona to Watford? Not sure if we had a sell on clause.

Toffee ace

{Ed001's Note - I don't believe so.}

1.) 11 Jun 2018 17:35:15
Thanks Ed.

2.) 11 Jun 2018 20:52:37
We DO indeed get something from Deulofeu's sale. It was in the original agreement that should Barcelona buy him back he had to be in the 1st team squad for a year. If he was subsequently sold AFTER that season Everton receive a percentage of the sell on fee. That was from Martinez at the time of the initial deal.

3.) 13 Jun 2018 01:41:45
We get to laugh at Watford.

Question for Ed 002. You mentioned that SA and CS were the choice of Walsh, so he's had his way on that one. Has this caused a shift in transfer priority as we've been led to believe from Koemans time that we needed a striker and a left sided defender? And do you know of any players in particular that we are pursuing as all we seem to see are random names in the media.

Toffee ace

{Ed002's Note - It won't change anything - the club need to get out of where they are now. January may well see Sandro Ramirez return to Spain with Valencia or Espanyol and could see Ross Barkley depart as well. The club are looking at trying to get a deal for Theo Walcott (F) - he is wanted by Sam Allardyce and his time at Arsenal is drawing to a close as he is doing no more than stagnating now, so it makes sense. Whether it will to him or not I don't know. Richmond Boakye (S) is a player Walsh is keen on and I assume he would have discussed him with SA by now - so an approach is not out of the question. Ezri Konsa (CB) is a youngster who thinks he can walk in to any EPL first team - we will see if Everton maintain that interest or if SA would prefer a more humble addition. Everton will be looking for a new lift back and if they want a slight risk then I expect Luke Shaw will be available. Steve Walsh had sent a scout to watch Marcel Halstenberg but it is hard to see him being available in January nor being interested in a move to a club without Champions League prospects. Sam Allardyce will no doubt have some ideas as well.}

Great reply ed002.

{Ed002's Note - Thanks.}

2.) 06 Dec 2017 15:40:56
Thank you Ed002. Interesting read.

3.) 06 Dec 2017 15:45:02
Would Sandro be a loan or permanent to your knowledge, Ed?

{Ed002's Note - They would look for a loan to buy I would think.}

4.) 06 Dec 2017 15:50:07
hi ed what are the chances of Shaw on a loan? I suspect ManU would want to get a permanent transfer if possible just wondering if a loan with reasonably fee would be considered.

{Ed002's Note - They will look to sell if they can - I think a loan less likely. There will be flurry of left-backs moving in the coming months and they won't want to end up stuck.}

5.) 06 Dec 2017 16:39:50
Could you see mirallas leave ed? Cheers mate.

{Ed002's Note - I suspect in the summer.}

6.) 06 Dec 2017 18:05:00
Wow. Cracking info Ed 002. Much appreciated.

7.) 06 Dec 2017 19:02:34
Fantastic reply ed, could you see Schneiderlin or Klassen leaving too in January or the summer? Seem neither Klassen or Sandro are rated highly at the club.

{Ed002's Note - The summer would be more likely.}

8.) 06 Dec 2017 20:06:09
Thanks for the reply ed.

{Ed002's Note - you are welcome.}

9.) 06 Dec 2017 21:08:06
Hi ed I never heard of richmond boakye is this lad any good seen YouTube videos of him but they can make average players look world beaters.

{Ed002's Note - a lot of clubs have taken a look but nobody is biting which may say a bit.}

10.) 07 Dec 2017 07:25:40
Boakye could be an amazing signing if he can adapt to the Premier League, which is always the million dollar question!
Could be a pacy combination up front with Bolasie which definitely wouldn’t allow teams to settle when we break!

Let’s see what happens.

11.) 08 Dec 2017 07:51:36
Think we need to see what will be. My immediate concern is Sunday and the fear we may need to wait a while for another 3 bus's.

If Tosun was given the minutes DCL has been given, he'd be scoring for us.

Toffee ace

1.) 24 Aug 2019 22:11:50
And your baseing that on what evidence?
He doesn't suit Marcos style so for me shouldn't be played in the hope that he scores a goal.

He had a purple patch of 5 goals when he started and since then has shown that he can't hold the ball up, s slow, can't head a ball but he can score, although we have to just believe he can score.
Richarlison should be ahead of Tosun for me.

2.) 25 Aug 2019 08:35:07
Defo Ricky every time.

3.) 25 Aug 2019 09:10:48
To be fair Smit, he's hardly played since this purple patch you're referring to. So in like manner, What are you basing your opinion on? You're going to need to provide some pretty commanding evidence also based on the fact that he's hardly been given a chance, which is my point.

I guess what I'm saying is that all strikers need a run in the team to be truly measured. DCL (who I like) is not scoring. let's give a run to Tosun. Its just a hunch, but I'm optimistic his goal return would be better than DCLs current offering.

4.) 25 Aug 2019 10:53:58
Richalson was inconsistent at Watford and we overpaid for him and has never shown he can play well for a whole season, another player we will probably lose money on, however he is young and maybe the next manager will be able to improve him, he does have talent.

5.) 25 Aug 2019 11:07:09
I think Smit and ToffeeAce both have valid points.

When we are playing the top teams such as City, Liverpool, etc they attack more and I think DCL offers more getting behind them down the channels and in the high press. I think the team plays better with him there
However against, for arguments sake, a Crystal Palace, operating a 8-9 man defence and who seldom go forward maybe Tosun has better predatory instincts whilst Richarlison and Kean would also provide different outlets through their passing ability in tight situations

I think Silva sees DCL and Kean as his 2 centre forwards with Ricki as fallback with Tosun available for transfer so has omitted Tosun from the starting line up. He's the one that sees them in training and he's the one making the decisions and taking the flack for it

At least no-ones calling for Niasse.

6.) 25 Aug 2019 15:23:30
DC 38 million for a kid who scored 15 goals in his debut season with us. Hmm. Not sure we overpaid.
Im sure you are aware of Richarlisons first season with Watford and why he was hampered. I expect you understand the situation and reason for drop off in form so to slate him for it is just naive.

No more predictions from me, quitting while I am ahead 🤣🤣🤣.

3.) 04 Jul 2019 21:30:53
Please predict Zaha to everton SA.

4.) 04 Jul 2019 23:44:05
Would not want him at goodison mate we already have some amazing younger players that play in his position would much rather make zoma are priority plus I've got an inkling that this will be DCL brake out year this kid has got pure tallent there has already been a few prem defenders saying how good he is and how much trouble he gives them that I don't want him to lose game time which will affect his progression when I think he has got the potential to be Englands first choice striker in the not to distent future.

5.) 06 Jul 2019 00:30:21
Then he needs to start finding the net on a regular basis and fast, Waltonblue!

01 Jul 2019 13:32:51
Yacine Brahimi is in talks with Arsenal. Was a target of ours in previous windows but looks like London is beckoning.

Toffee ace

{Ed002's Note - Brahimi is in Africa.}

1.) 01 Jul 2019 15:00:29
Then they’re probably speaking to his representatives Ed 002. Any truth in that rumour Ed?

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure which representatives you are referring to, but Arsenal are considering the player, although like Everton he would not resolve their particular need.}

2.) 01 Jul 2019 16:55:43
I agree Ed. It seems they need some defensive steel at the back and in the middle.

2.) 13 Jun 2019 16:05:32
Liverpool Man U Chelsea and Arsenal is a run like our strong finish to the end of the season, you have to believe.

3.) 14 Jun 2019 06:58:26
Well put ST. We took 9 points off top 6 teams in 3 games end of season without conceding a goal. Man utd didn't even have 1 shot in target til the 85th minute. We can beat anyone on our day, home or away, as other players in football clubs will believe.

4.) 15 Jun 2019 00:40:53
Will not watch Amazon on principle, will not make a prime member.
I pay for BT and Sky for sport but thast is it. Due to some disability cannot stand in pubs to watch matches, and do not go every week anymore.
I am sure many will share my view I am sure.

09 Jun 2019 18:00:38
Well you have to give credit to Jordan Pickford. I was very confident that he would save at least 1 penalty. And as long as he can keep doing that then England will continue to shake this monkey off their backs that is penalty shootouts.

Toffee ace

1.) 09 Jun 2019 20:49:45
Totally agree TA i think Pickford has that belief he has a penalty save in him and takes a good one as well 😉
Unfortunately Stones still has that potential for a costly error in him 🤦🏻‍♂️.

2.) 09 Jun 2019 21:15:49
I agree Ace. Pickford is the most confident keeper England have had in many years.
Not just because he's a blue but I always have an unusual confidence in him when playing for England (unusual in that previous keepers always make you feel on edge) and in penalty situations you always believe that he'll save at least one. and generally does.

3.) 10 Jun 2019 01:09:15
I know what you mean, Trev. I think the last England keeper that I had confidence in when facing a penalty was Seaman.

4.) 10 Jun 2019 20:15:35
We need a decent penalty taker, why not Pickford?

5.) 11 Jun 2019 11:56:26
DC - if the penalty is saved then we would be screwed with no one back in our goal. But in a penalty shoot out he looks a good bet for one 👍.

6.) 11 Jun 2019 13:36:39
Aren't they changing the rules on penalties next season whereby if one is taken, the ball is dead whether it goes in or is saved?

Although I guess a keeper like Ederson would score from the resulting goal kick.

7.) 11 Jun 2019 18:31:37
Spot on Windsor.

Guys. To be fair to DFS we are all making a few predictions- where we will finish etc and he has done just the same, albeit a lees optimistic one. I don’t agree with DFS but that’s just opinions. I think Wolves for all their endeavour last season will be different due to Thursday games.

United were superior but not unbeatable. And we have Goodison. Molinoux is no where near as intimidating.

It might have to be. We are week at the back and can’t really take any injuries. Mina’s fitness was a problem last season, so I understand why people are concerned. If Gibson gets his chance he will need to take it.

The three goals we conceded were very poor. We seemed to be lacking pace too as we were fouling a lot because they were getting goal side of us too easily. I’m not sure what Schneiderlin does also, he just seems to try to make tackles but fouls instead and never passes forward which is a big problem because he occupies space in front of our back four.

And even though we press, we can’t seem to do anything with the turnover ball in such a dangerous area. We should have punished Bournemouth for the amount of mistakes we forced them into. In all I thought the defence was lamentable, the midfield sloppy and the forwards pretty much impotent.

Sorry it’s a bit negative, I’m just reflecting my mood after a really bad performance.

I don’t think he has improved since he left us. And when we sold him for £50m I thought then that we had a right good deal. I’m not saying he’s not good enough for us but I do think that a strong back four working as a unit is a sum greater than its parts, whereas Stones is someone who I see more individual.

Everyone said that his errors were down to his young years but he’s peaking age wise now and still makes costly errors.

I could be completely wrong but for now that’s how I see him.
