Has Duncan ever put himself forward to be permanent manager; or is he happy to be the stand in. If the former, have to ask whg does he get overlooked.

{Ed025's Note - he lacks experience as a number 1 DFS, also he wanted to stay at the club and was prepared to play second fiddle, he has a bit more experience now i think but the powers that be have always looked for a high profile manager, and we all know how that turned out mate..

That was my thinking.

There has been some clickbait that has said he wants the job permanently. I have the greatest love and respect for Dunc and would get behind him if he was appointed manager but I do have 2 concerns

1/ Why hasn't he had the courage, the self belief, to go and prove himself elsewhere
3/ 3 games as interim manager is no real guide to what he could do as the full time manager. Look at Rafa after his first 3 games.

I think once Gerrard left Rangers or before Gerrard that Rangers should have approached Big Dunc that would have been the perfect test for him and to showcase his managerial skills.

Did you just go full Phil Neville there BW? Where did 3 come from and what happened to number 2 haha

I think personally he just loves Everton. He doesn't trust a lot of people because of what happened to him with Scotland and I think that is why he's not gone anywhere else. He's talked about very highly by anyone that works with him and I'm happy he's at the club. Wish we had a few more with real passion around the club. However, I would prefer someone with more stature and experience in the game to be manager.
