Guys I thought I'd ask here as I honestly would like to know.

Barkley, is he as good as we are all told? I rated him the season before last and thought this boy can go far but for last 16 months I really have gone off him. He seems to be very selfish and looks like he has a big fish small pond attitude.

Am I correct or way off the mark?

He does not have a football brain Chris, regularly does not know where he is. Has the vision of a blind man wearing a blindfold whilst in a pitch black room. Shoots from anywhere within 90 yards, usually out for a throw in. He does not track back, hogs the ball. Despite being nearly 6 foot 3 he gets beat in the air by 5 foot 9 players a lot. He is not fast, gets bullied off the ball and is always on the floor. He never supports Lukaku and, like Rodwell, is a headless chicken on and off the ball. I am desperate for him to be sold while we can still make money on him.

{Ed001's Note - so you like him then?}

2.) 03 Jul 2015 20:40:19
I actually think he has become more of a team player in passing more often where as the season before he was makin more solo runs something he is very good at also think the pressure got to him last season a bit hopefully we will see a better Barkley this season and a better everton

3.) 03 Jul 2015 20:42:09
Make or break season for barkley.
Was supposed to b best thing since sliced bread still blowing hot & cold.
No excuse this season though no world cup so is well rested & should be raring 2 go.
For me he hasn't lived up to his potential ain't scored as many as Rooney & Gerrard did @ his age.
City's interest in him has gone by the wayside so wot does that tell u looked little boy lost for much of last season

4.) 03 Jul 2015 21:14:54
Love him ed, great lad but not a great footballer.

{Ed001's Note - I would never have guessed you didn't rate him as a player. You really need to stop beating about the bush and get off that fence Swan. Tell us your true feelings about him, rather than mincing your words......}

5.) 03 Jul 2015 22:25:17
t the end of the day Swan has him to a 't'. Either he needs to wake up n realise that he needs to start learning basic football game management or piss off to Chelsea where he won't need any game management as the players there will do it for him, that's when he starts a game there like!!

6.) 03 Jul 2015 22:43:08
Agree that he needs to perform next season, but it's are fault tbh.
We including most news outlets had him earmarked from the season before last as being " The next Rooney" and England's future hope for trophys ect .

You can imagine the pressure this has put on him , I mean even if he had a similar career to Osman that would be seen as a failure.

On top of that I can imagine him to play fifa and it can't have helped when he was bumped up from a 71-77 rated player, this probably gave him a sense of false achievement.

Haven't got a clue what was up with Ross last season but he looked like the player that started against QPR a few years ago. Clearly talented but no idea of when to pass or shoot .

It's so annoying to watch he will have the ball in space with an opportunity to pass but he chooses to shoot instead and then when he should let a shot off he chooses to pass.

I know most of you will say boll*cks, but I feel the injury he suffered and the age that he was has really stifled his development.

So yeah, he needs to have a good one next season and bringing cleverly in should take a bit off pressure off him also.

Quick note on cleverly, I've seen a few people annoyed by his signing.
Have you all forgot 4 years ago we had the bloody midfield maestro that is phill Neville playing cm.

For me his game is all about releasing the ball quickly moving receiving and so on.

Last season are play at times was the sort of thing I'd expect to see down the park.
Him signing is only going to be a good thing IMO.

7.) 03 Jul 2015 22:52:04
Leave the lad alone. He will come good, but not if every time he gets the ball people are jumping on his back. I think half you lot want him to fail. It's a nasty trait that's becoming a regular thing at our home games last season. Get behind them and support them. And before you start with they earn bla bla bla. So what they all earn a bloody fortune, far far to much but that's how it is.
Right time for bed.

8.) 04 Jul 2015 01:52:28
Really? We are basing how he is being affected because he was upgraded on a Football game?. Please tell me I'm imagining it.

9.) 05 Jul 2015 08:50:20
Okay Swan

You may think that what I said about Fifa was stupid and maybe it was but think of it this way.

You work in a office , at the end of the year a report comes out rating every staff members performance over the year.

If you where at the bottom at the start of the year and ended up at the top I bet you'd feel pretty good.

Say If it was a sales role and everybody was saying " He's the next Alan sugar "

The year after the pressure would be on to at least match the performance you showed the previous year.

And then when you aren't quite matching the same form as the previous year people would start doubting you and you would probably start to doubt yourself aswell.

For whatever reasons last season Ross looked like he had 0 confidence. In my opinion it would be wise to assess him over the summer and possible try to take him out of the spotlight a bit.

Swan,

I don't rate McCarthy that high, I also don't rate Cleverly either, but I do rate McCarthy higher than Clev.

Do I rate Baines higher than Shaw? Yes atm I do. But I think in a few years time Shaw will become a lot better if he fulfils his potential.

Coleman excites me, the £30m u lot value him does not but it's the going rate I suppose so oh well.

15m and Evans perm and Adnan on loan seems more than fair to me imo.

Why so bitter all the while? Is that chip heavy to carry around all the time?

Chris the REDman

1.) 29 Jun 2015 17:35:44
If we have a chip then you must have the full potato given that City are now the number one Manc club. Must really hurt, mind you London nightlife can be good, so at least you have that.

2.) 29 Jun 2015 17:59:52
While u unhook that for me, please explain how we are not the biggest club in England still let alone Manchester?

{Ed025's Note - that depends on what you deem biggest chris...merchandising yes, titles yes..european success..no, current squad..no, likeability..deffo NO.. :)

3.) 29 Jun 2015 18:22:05
Money? Nope.

4.) 29 Jun 2015 18:36:20
Ahhhh u would say that ed ;)

U always have my number on these pages :)

{Ed025's Note - i just cant help myself chris.. :)

5.) 29 Jun 2015 18:40:00
Evans and Januzaj are terrible. You should pay us to take them.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think you like any player swan...januzaj is a talent mate..

6.) 29 Jun 2015 19:14:30
Ed25,

When was city's european success?

Woburn's post is one of the best I've seen on here, standard united rubbish, you are a cockney not a real fan (I live 10 minutes from old Trafford and have a season ticket).

City are the number one Manc club because they got a bit of money, they haven't even managed to defend their title yet, entertaining post though I'll give you that.

{Ed025's Note - i never mentioned city GDS..it was about the biggest club fella..

7.) 29 Jun 2015 19:33:41
I think ed was referring to that other lot gds.

{Ed025's Note - i was chris..but refuse to mention them mate.. :)

8.) 29 Jun 2015 19:41:24
i disagree hugely. Slow, weak, bad decision making. He scored 2 goals on his debut though so must be good. Sterling is a talent, Januzaj not so much.

{Ed025's Note - like everything mate..its all about opinions..

9.) 29 Jun 2015 20:12:03
Lol swan let's his bitterness rule his vision. he's fuming to which makes it even funnier.

Poor old fella.

10.) 29 Jun 2015 23:31:50
What bitterness? Ah so it's bitter I don't like a utd player?.

Silly old fella.

11.) 29 Jun 2015 23:32:08
I guarantee if you get Januzaj on loan you will think he is good by October.

12.) 30 Jun 2015 08:35:03
Chelsea fans said that about Atsu. Januzaj just reminds me of a slow Atsu. Nice.

13.) 30 Jun 2015 06:57:41
Yeh silly me, your clearly not bitter at all. 👍

Look I'm sorry guys, believe me after last season I REALLY enjoyed beating ure lot today, I wanted 5's and 6's.

But come on! Some of your posts on here are crazy, trust me u will play a lot worse than that and win this season. I think a bit of perspective is needed, ure start has been awful due to a harsh fixture list and Europa league.
U have key players out injured and some of your fit players hardly got a rest this summer due to it being a world cup year.

The teams around u spent 100's of millions this summer.

Imo Martinez is a victim of his own success of last season, much like that Muppet Rodgers up the road from u. But ure Everton, Dnt be like that lot. Show ure dignity and class like u have many times before.

Still wish we had smashed u 5 or 6 zero though 😊 oh well hopefully next time. 😃

Chris the REDman

1.) Condescending posts from a fan of a team who are just as terrible as us. Shows how far we have fallen. Even the opposition are taking pity on us.

Man Utd have no chance of getting in the top 4 this season as your defence is woeful, which will a disaster. Top 6 and you've done well. Luis Van Giant Fod isn't all that.

We are Everton
#Wedontwinanything
That's what we do

2.) Fair play to you Chris, an honest assessment without being arrogant, with the wealth of attacking talent that we were up against and how we controlled the game for large parts without some of our best players, namely Barkley and Mirrallas we were unlucky to not at least get a point

3.) 06 Oct 2014 17:31:28
Wow ure a joy ain't u Mike lol, nope ure right u should all throw the towel in now.

{Ed025's Note - we all have them chris, supporters who seem to revel in the team getting beat so they can have a good moan, mike makes victor meldrew look like kriss akabusi..

05 Oct 2014 15:22:04
Well I must say McNair moved around the pitch quite well today considering he had to carry around Lukaku in his pocket too.

An average age of 21 in our back line and he was anonymous, he could learn a lot from an honest pro like Naismith who was a bloody annoying little so and so all game!

All jokes aside DDG won us 3 points today although we should of been out of sight in the 1st half.

Chris the REDman

1.) 05 Oct 2014 15:38:06
Your keeper was your best player mate, nough said.

2.) Go away we battered you but you got lucky but you hung on

3.) We really didn't batter them mate, we were crap, just like we have been all season.

What's even worse is that is the worst United team i've seen since, well, last season. They are terrible.

We are Everton
#Wedontwinanything
That's what we do

4.) 05 Oct 2014 16:31:11
Ahhh Dnt be like that! If u can't take it Dnt give it ain't that right Davey boy?

5.) Chris I can certainly 'take it' when we get beat which is why I enjoy 'giving it' when the likes of yourselves and our noisy neighbours allow us amusement on a monumental scale (you last season under Moyes and them believing they'd won the League 4 games before the end).
To be fair you have to admit that you scraped 3 points today thanks to your keeper who pulled off the save of the season at the end. And don't forget that Baines penalty miss was also down to an excellent save from him too.
We will recover shortly once the injury situation resolves itself - today we were missing Barkley, Mirallas, McCarthy and Coleman, 3 players who would walk into your side (but who are NOT for sale)!
You've now played one of last season's big boys for the first time. Let's see how you do in the next two months against the others. Oh and you've still got to come to Goodison.

I would like to wish Oviedo all the best, never nice to see anything like that and i'm really gutted for the lad, world cup dreams over and a long lay off just as he was finding his role in the team, feel for him I really do.
Get well soon Oviedo

He is decent on the ball, scores goals from set plays, can cover a few positions on the pitch.

He was sunderlands player of the season 2 years running while on loan as a 18/19 yr old so there is ability there.

The season he and Rio played most of the games at the back when vidic done his knee he didn't let the team down.

I understand u lot being pfff about the signing but this one ain't the worst one u have made imo.

Like I said with a run I think many of u will see the lad has talent.

Maybe look at it like u could be the club to help him reach his potential?

I agree in part mate but jonny was not one of our most injury prone CB over the seasons. Granted he had a stop start 18 months but mostly due to loss of form.

He has ability, maybe just needs a bit of confidence shown in him.

I think he has a problem being in and out and can't gain form from it.

I tell u what blue noses we will do u a buy on get one half price deal. Take Evans for £8m and get Jones for 5m.

Form a line guys!

God a grateful bunch u lot are!

For the record if jonny gets a run of games he is a decent CB.

Granted he has a mistake here and there but over all I think he may suprise a few of u if he gets a run.

Chris the REDman

{Ed001's Note - it is the if bit that is the crucial one. He will never get that run because he can't stay fit and it takes him about 6 games to get back on form after an injury, and it is the 7th game that he gets injured in.}

Swan doesn't rate him LOL!

Swan other than a handful of Everton players is there any others u do rate?

Cheer up old chap, don't take life to seriously, u will never get out alive.
