Ed’s - you mention in an earlier post that you had heard that’s Carlo’s son was becoming more of a focal point for the team and Carlo was taking a back step in terms of management . I really hope that isn’t the case!

However That would however add something to why Carlo is at us when it totally contradicts his entire CV

He has never had to totally rebuild a football club, yes his early Milan days he had to build but they were still a powerhouse of Europe and in all truth didn’t have the cack that we have.

My question is two fold and would welcome anyone input!

1, has Carlo come to Everton to enable his son to cut his teeth in the football world without the perceived expectation of winning things instantly?

2, do you think given enough windows he will be able to build a team capable of challenging or do you think we will be playing catch up for the mistakes we have made over the last 5 years?

Personally I hope Carlo is committed to us and that his son is learning in the back ground. I do think he can push us forward but history tells us That patience is a virtue not offered to many managers!

Needs to stop these rouge tactical decisions aswell would rather see us go all out and attach Leeds than have Davis and Iwobi as wingbacks play 4 up top if needs be but don’t get beat with a whimper!

{Ed001's Note - to be honest it is not a new development for Carlo, at both Bayern and Napoli he gradually handed over the reins to his son more and more. At Bayern that led to the players being so disillusioned with training that they would meet up at a local park to train together as they felt they were not being pushed hard enough in the club's training sessions!

If you listen during games, it is his son shouting the tactical instructions you often hear, such as when you shifted from a back three to a back four, it was the son shouting quatro while Carlo just stood by passively.}

Well that really worries me ed.

{Ed001's Note - there have been previous problems, but that is how people learn, so maybe Carlo and his son will be able to work together better to ensure the same issues don't occur as did in the past. If nothing else, the team will be in a stronger position if it does fall flat, due to Carlo pulling in better players. So, worst case scenario is the next manager has a platform to build from. You aren't in relegation danger, so that is the absolute worst I can see coming from having Carlo and his son in charge. I don't think that is a bad situation to be in right now, not when you consider where you were when he took over.}

Interesting stuff Ed, I'm thinking on similar lines to Woburn in a way as the gloss of having a top notch manager in charge has turned just a tad duller at least for the time being.
The player pulling power was always a big plus and if I am honest here perhaps the 'main' reason I was overjoyed when he took the job.

{Ed001's Note - sometimes the glamour appointments are like that. You only see them from the outside and so they seem all shiny and perfect. Then you get to see them close up and realise that actually they are human. A bit like meeting your heroes.}

The training comments are worrying. Our players look pretty unfit as it is and seem to be struggling to make it through one half let alone 90 mins.

{Ed001's Note - that has been a consistent problem in Carlo's teams in recent years. It doesn't help that they won't be able to just meet down the park to do extra training at the moment!}

I wonder where Big Dunc fits into all this. I seriously hope he isn’t being stifled again.

I said in my previous comments that they didn’t look fit enough or sharp enough, I really hope that’s not the case at Everton, it does make you think though why Walcott and Keane have all of a sudden come food at their new clubs, maybe we are taking this a bit too far.

Don’t think we can judge the improvement in Walcott and lean on our own teams apparent lack of fitness.
Walcott playing in his preferred role at Southampton so not a real surprise to see him “improve”
Kean is now playing in a slower and easier league and is surrounded by world class players - think any of us fans may be able to bang a few in in that league with those players around us.
