Nearly a week after the close of the financial year. No doubt "work behind the scenes" continues unabated.

You don’t think anyone is working behind the scenes? Many of the players we’re interested in will be holding out to see if a team in a better position will swoop. Doesn’t mean we’re not in the market.

Of course not. It’s just not as straight forward as signing whoever we want.

All the signs point to the fact that we are waiting for a bid to come in for one of our top players before we can follow up on our targets. I hate to say it but I can’t see any logical reason why we are stumbling through this period without addressing our striker problems other than we need to sell first.

I sincerely hope I am wrong but I’m struggling to see it any other way.

Why would we need to sell first?
We are linked with 5 new players a day but in fact we won't be in for any of them.
The ones we've been linked with are the ones that will be last minute buys or loans for clubs. Agents starting rumours, touting players.

The only players we signed from the last 5 years that played out in the media was Mina, alan and Tarks. Pretty much every other deal raised its head a day or so before they signed.
