Ismaila Sarr (knee) , Emmanuel Dennis (knee) , Joshua King (sickness) , Kiko Femenia (sickness) , Juraj Kucka (knee) , Shaq Forde (ankle) , Tom Cleverley (ribs) and Nicolas N'koulou (groin) join Imran Louza and Cucho Hernandez (hamstring)

All missing for Watford tomorrow.
Let's hope we can take advantage.

1.) 10 May 2022 19:11:06
Well if we can’t we deserve to go down.

2.) 10 May 2022 22:16:33
Let’s hope for 3 points but not forget we have two more home games. If we can continue this form, we could get 6 points there though we’ll need more heroics from Pickford with the mistakes out defence keep making.

3.) 11 May 2022 12:16:17
Thx for the info, had been considering a bet on Cleverley scoring the winner. :X.

16 Feb 2020 20:25:03
Everton to end their sponsorship with sportpesa at the end of the season.
Cue a big sponsorship deal from uncle Alisher.

1.) 16 Feb 2020 20:47:16
Think you could be right matey.

2.) 16 Feb 2020 21:41:38
I am pretty sure Smitt is right.

3.) 16 Feb 2020 22:05:02
Would a big sponsor shirt deal from usmanov go towards solving our ffp problems or are they already beyond being helped.

4.) 16 Feb 2020 23:52:09
Would be no surprise to see megafon on the kits next season.
Whoever we end up with as shirt sponsors hopefully we don’t end up with another gambling company.

5.) 17 Feb 2020 01:48:12
Everton will have to tread very carefully in regards to any of Alisher Usmanovs companies sponsoring stadiums, shirts etc, Moshiri is clearly linked to Usmanov, any sponsorship deals will have to be proven to be legitmaly worth the companies investment, in terms of the stadium sponsorship, there will need to be proof that there were multiple bidders for the naming rights, and not just one bid of a multi-year multi-million pound contract.

6.) 17 Feb 2020 06:56:26
There doesn't need to be proof of multiple bidders for naming rights. If only one company made an offer then that's what you would have to accept else be without a sponsor.
We may need to prove that it is in the realms of correct value, that the deal isn't (x) amount more than realistic offers should be, but amount of bidders doesn't really come into it.

7.) 17 Feb 2020 14:09:44
Well Chevrolet pay Utd around 65m, and we were getting less than 10 from Sports Pesa. So I would imagine there is a lot of scope for improvement.

8.) 17 Feb 2020 18:30:52
There’s a large discrepancy between top six sponsorship deals and 7th down. So if Usm or Megafon come in with a top six sized offer it will look suspect. If a company unrelated to Everton offer a similar amount then there’s no real concerns. Occam’s razor, if it looks dodgey then it probably is.

9.) 17 Feb 2020 19:53:17
And if we finish above united this season and get a bigger sponsorship deal will that be ok?
The size of the deal isn't decided by league position. Every team starts the season outside the top 6.

10.) 17 Feb 2020 20:35:26
When you look at these figures you can see it’s not just the Sponsor it’s also what the kit manufacturer will pay!

10) Juventus - €93m per year (€51m from Adidas, €42m from Jeep)
9) Liverpool - €98.5m per year (€52.1m from New Balance, €46.3m from Standard Chartered)
8) Arsenal - €104.2m per year (€57.9 from Adidas, €46.3 from Emirates)
7) Bayern Munich - €106m per year (€66m from Adidas, €40m from T-Mobile)
6) Chelsea - €115.8m per year (€69.5m from Nike, €46.3m from Yokohama)
5) Manchester City - €127.4m per year (€75.3m from Puma, €52.1m from Etihad)
4) Paris Saint-Germain - €135m per year (€75m from Nike, €60m from Accor Live Limitless)
3) Barcelona - €160m per year (€105m from Nike, €55m from Rakuten)
2) Manchester United - €161m per year (€86.9m from Adidas, €74.1m from Chevrolet)
1) Real Madrid - €190m per year (€120m from Adidas, €70m from Emirates)

11.) 17 Feb 2020 22:44:01
The point is Smit, USM can’t throw money at us without it being looked at. But if a completely independent investor were to offer the same, then that would make the offer look more credible. The top six clubs have all had champ league history. We haven’t. That puts them in a bigger bidding pool than us. So if USM were to offer us money like we had some sort of champs league attraction when in all honesty we don’t, then like it or not, it looks suss.

{Ed002's Note - There has to be a reason for the investment - you cannot simply hand money over. The money for the option of naming rights will be looked at - and it would not be a shock to see perhaps a small percentage of it being counted for FFP.}

12.) 17 Feb 2020 23:52:14
The reason is we need uncle Usmanovs money to help us compete, the big boys have filled their boots and now the ladder has been removed to stop any other team trying to compete with them.

If the top teams can get over a hundred million on combined sponsorships all it is doing is making the gap even harder to close.

I think 30 Million a year is a fair amount to have Megafon on our shirts.

{Ed002's Note - Everton are working well outside of the rules and within a year or two will be charged. The are a light year away from meeting UEFA FFP.}

13.) 18 Feb 2020 08:51:40
Spurs have been in the top 6 for the last 10 years and have only just signed a bumper shirt deal, and it's still way short of some of the big teams.

Don't expect ours to rocket just because we break into the top 6. Top 6 just won't cut it, it's winning things that gets the big sponsors in.

14.) 20 Feb 2020 19:20:36
All this sponsorship is just the start, once we are in that stadium then the sponsorship money will increase as there is more commercial scope, don’t forget that this stadium is starting a bigger project, we do have to tread carefully with FFP which is why our squad budget is a mess.

08 Dec 2019 08:09:03
Great result yesterday, lots of passion and energy shown by the lads.
I'd give big Dunc the united game and let's see how he sets them up with a weeks training under his belt.

I'm hoping the 442 disappears, we were outnumbered in the middle yesterday and on another day chelsea could have scored a couple more.

Away from home we will need to win the battle in the middle for sure and with the same passion and energy we can get something from Old Trafford.

1.) 08 Dec 2019 11:27:04
Smitt the 442 did disappear he took off Ricky for Tom. 442 got us into a position to win 451 meant we held on to that lead. Good in game management if you ask me. We were at home so starting with 442 for me is aggressive formation that sends a message to us as fans and the opposition, Everton are going to try to win the game. Away from home like you I would expect a different set up we do have quite a good counter attack when we are on form. Great start by big Dunc I think he may have seen his stock rise with both the management and some of the supporters that thought he may have been part of the problem with ex managers. If we want a manager with passion that loves the club he certainly provides that. I'm made up for the guy. Definitely one for the future in my opinion.

2.) 08 Dec 2019 12:02:39
Smit I don't care what was reported about the bond between the players and Silva, their just had to be a problem. For Ferguson to get the likes of Schneiderlin playing so much better speaks volumes to me. At present we have problems in the middle because of injuries but if all the players show the same passion, energy and desire that they show yesterday we will have little problem getting results and moving up the table. Hopefully we can recruit some good additions in January.

3.) 08 Dec 2019 12:06:46
While he get points Smit let him have a bit of a run mate, It will be interesting to see what he does at Utd .

Btw Smitty when DC sees you using his 'avi' he will go ape lol 🤣.

4.) 08 Dec 2019 13:54:44
I thought he made some very astute changes. Firstly was the 442 set up. Secondly we stopped pushing up to the half way line and getting caught out with the simple ball over the top. At least 3 of Liverpools goals were that simple. a simple ball over the top or through the middle and our defenders too slow to turn and defend. Thirdly, he stopped this stupid roll out of the ball from Pickford and the never ending crossfield passes that look like we will lose possession and concede. Forthly, we pressed. We pressed as a team. not just one or two players. we got into them in every position until we went back from 442 to 451. Finally DCL with Richy just behind him worked a treat. DCL looked this good in one other game this season but has toiled hard for little result over the season. mainly because he has been on his own. Sometimes he had wingers. but noone besides him to lay it off to. Yes this game Dunc got things right. let's see if he can continue now.

5.) 08 Dec 2019 13:54:57
Dunc probably told Morgan he would kick him round the training ground if he didn’t put a proper shift in!
To have pride in himself the shirt and the badge! And to earn the bloody good wages he’s paid!

6.) 08 Dec 2019 15:23:48
It was good to see him switch the formation to see out the game. Silva never had that in him.

I'd love him to get the United game, I'll be there and would love it if we could go and get something from that game. Even a draw would build confidence and start a bit of a run.

As for the Avatar, I picked it a few games ago (when things looked bad) but it has only just been approved.
Another win and I might have to change it back.

7.) 08 Dec 2019 15:48:11
Duncan Ferguson made it simple, no over complicated tactics, play for each other, if you lose the ball, chase it down, simple football that gets over complicated by Managers.

I would give Dunc the Leicester cup game without a shadow of doubt.

Yesterday the players got their identity and self belief back.

Let’s not rush in straight away for a new Manager, at least give Dunc a couple of games.

8.) 08 Dec 2019 16:35:26
You can have what ever formation you want, but Dunc got a performance out of every single player yesterday, the intensity was first class and what won us the game yes they could of scored more but so could we. Nice to see 442 and then change it later on, good in game management.

9.) 09 Dec 2019 21:02:32
I'd give big Dunc until the end of the month. United have got some form and Leicester are a great side, but Arsenal, Burnley and Newcastle could/ should be winnable. Then that gives the board plenty of time to select a new manager if they decide to go that way.

05 Dec 2019 16:58:35
This might sound a bit daft but wasnt Brands bought in to get the U23s and under 18s etc coached and playing the same style as the 1st team?
And if so, wouldn't it be an option to give Unsworth the reigns until the summer or a replacement is found?

He has the Under 23s playing well and in the same style (whatever that style is) the squad is in better shape than it was the last time he was given the role.

Anyway just a thought as he's not been mentioned this time.

{Ed002's Note - I don't think there is much chance of that happen. DF for the weekend then Moyes - or a concerted effort for Marcelino as I have explained - but he is not keen.}

1.) 05 Dec 2019 19:27:15
Would Moyes work with a DOF Ed002? I seem to think he wants to run the show and play his style of play.

{Ed002's Note - He would but don't lose sight of Brands' role.I think they would be fine - and just maybe Brands will get a chance to do what he is best at. Else he will walk.}

24 Nov 2019 18:05:11
Rumour has it he's gone. Not confirmed but my mate who owns the chippy that Brands gets his deep fried octopus from says it's done.

1.) 24 Nov 2019 18:42:23
Smit666 just heard same from my son.

2.) 24 Nov 2019 18:57:51
Social media really hotting up now. Rafa supposedly at Finch Farm at 4-30pm. I need to go and lay down lol.

3.) 24 Nov 2019 19:09:15
So Bill your son has confirmed that Brands gets his deep fried octopus from Smit's friends chippy or is it more tasty than that?

4.) 24 Nov 2019 19:10:01
Does he work at the chippy BCT?

5.) 24 Nov 2019 19:42:15
Someone else is posting that unsworth has told the U23’s he won’t be with them for a while 🤷🏻‍♂️
If Rhino does step in short term we might see some of the young talent 😍.

6.) 24 Nov 2019 20:14:57
Hasn’t this happened before?

7.) 24 Nov 2019 20:07:39
Bloody hell i've logged into the 'X Files' 🤭.

8.) 24 Nov 2019 21:41:20
So they held a exec board meeting on Saturday only for one of them to spill beans in local chippy, at least come up with something believable.

{Ed002's Note - It was the the curry house.)

9.) 24 Nov 2019 22:34:19
I think we got excited over nothing. I don't think he has gone. Can any of the eds enlighten us?

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has happened.}

10.) 24 Nov 2019 22:08:18
The comedy is not lost on you Trueblue.

11.) 25 Nov 2019 08:57:59
Actually Smitty TBM's retort was hilarious just don't tell him I said so 🤫.

12.) 25 Nov 2019 09:01:39
My bad, may not have been the same chippy. Son counts beans not chips, so mistaken.

13.) 25 Nov 2019 09:27:03
Silva has gone? Silva getting a vote of confidence from the board? 90% of fans want Silva out? make of it what you will.

Good results today for us.
Draw or win and we're 4th.
Tough game with our injury list.

1.) 16 Oct 2021 19:56:26
I think we will will beat them mate,

09 Sep 2021 20:28:53
Godfrey and Rodriguez back in training.

1.) 09 Sep 2021 22:45:32
Good. Now get them playing.

2.) 10 Sep 2021 07:56:13
Would you really play Rodriguez? Where would you play him in the current set up?

For me if he plays we can't be moving other players around just to accommodate him. He needs to adapt, not his strong suit.

3.) 10 Sep 2021 09:52:14
You are right we should not move players about to accommodate him but he could be that difference late in a game
If he shows the wrong attitude he can be subbed straight of like Ferguson on Kean style!

4.) 10 Sep 2021 10:07:03
Rodriguez, Iwobi who would you rather have coming off the bench?

5.) 10 Sep 2021 12:06:51
One of the great weaknesses of the English game historically has been to dwell on what players can't do. This has often meant that players with decent all round ability are preferred to those who have an exceptional strength to their game. I think that if (I concede that is a mighty big if) he could be got fit and playing near his best, then the club would have someone worth building a team around.

6.) 10 Sep 2021 12:19:17
Sorry Glenn, not quite sure if you’re suggesting if Rodriguez gets fit and plays well we should build a team around him?
Why would you want to do that? He’s only here till end of season (can’t see the option being taken up to extend) . You’d then have to set the team up differently when he goes.

We need to be getting players to fit the style the manager and team play not setting team up to suit certain players as if they leave it’s upheaval again.

7.) 10 Sep 2021 12:43:05
Not suggesting that at this stage. I was very careful to say someone worth building a team around. Lots of other bridges to be crossed before you would actually start building.

27 Aug 2021 18:54:19
Greenwood (loan) Aaron's and this Diaz would be good and doable business if we can shift Kean and James.
I know swap deals are rare but if we could give Delph to Leeds and swap him for some Digestive biscuits I'd be made up with this transfer window.

{Ed025's Note - lleds would want money as well smit..

1.) 27 Aug 2021 20:07:05
What about if we supply the tea to dunk them in.

2.) 27 Aug 2021 21:45:58
Let’s push the boat out and go for chocolate biscuits.

{Ed025's Note - we would have to be crackers woburn.. :)

3.) 28 Aug 2021 00:29:53
Greenwood? Can’t see it mate.

4.) 28 Aug 2021 07:55:04
Why not JB? He'll be at least 4th choice probably 5th now Ronaldo has joined.

5.) 28 Aug 2021 08:37:18
Greenwood will play on the right for utd. He'll be used in rotation. He'll play a lot of games for utd, he won't come Everton.

6.) 28 Aug 2021 13:40:16
Never get a full biscuit for Delph. Obligation to take crumbs in 2 years if he makes enough cuppas at half time.

7.) 28 Aug 2021 16:25:35
Chris once Rashford is fit and Ronaldo is upto speed Greenwood won't get much playing time ahead of Rashford, Sancho, Ronaldo, Pogba and Cavani.

22 Aug 2021 13:23:01
You know its silly season when the reports are Newcastle in talks to take James off us.

1.) 22 Aug 2021 14:27:11
Imagine him under Steve Bruce.

2.) 22 Aug 2021 14:54:27
No Swan just no.

{Ed002's Note - They are interested in a loan.}

3.) 22 Aug 2021 17:44:33
Of course they are, everyone wants to loan our players over recent years 🤦🏻‍♂️.

4.) 22 Aug 2021 17:46:40
Ashley can have a loan, how much does he want?
But they aren't getting Rodriguez.

5.) 22 Aug 2021 17:24:39
Is the Nathan Patterson rumours true Ed?

{Ed002's Note - If that is the youngster from Rangers then Nathan Patterson RWB) Rangers have said to two Championship sides who have enquired that he is not for sale, I don't know what the situation is with any offer from Everton.}

6.) 22 Aug 2021 20:29:17
Thanks Ed.

19 Jul 2021 16:01:36
Well after the summer of buying 146 number 10s we now look like were going to do the same again and stockpile wingers.

1.) 19 Jul 2021 17:28:45
The difference is that there is only 1 number 10 position. There are 2 wing positions so obviously you need more players to cover it. All season I read comment after comment about how we have to improve our options out wide. Now we are doing that, people are complaining about that (I don't mean you by the way) . Gray and townsend aren't the big names anyone wanted, but they are decent players who fill out the squad and mean we can move a big earner on, like bernard in this example. From all of the rumours it seems like these 2 will come in then we are looking at a higher level players (Bailey, mcneil, chukwueze) . I'm more than happy with that personally.

{Ed025's Note - some good points there cropper mate..

2.) 19 Jul 2021 18:09:35
I always liked the look of Gray, quick he just never kicked on. Could Rafa get a tune out of him? Let's hope so.
Townsend can ping a ball in and I'm guessing he'll get a lot more assists with DCL on the other end than he did with Benteke.

Maybe we're missing a trick here. Why don't we hire 6 or 7 managers at the same time.

Question for Ed002 instead of who for manager who do you think would be good options for DOFs for us?

Let's hope it goes with form.
Brightons away form is excellent and Leeds is not great.
Tottenham away form is excellent whilst Burnley have only won 2 away from home.
Brentford away form isn't great either so let's hope it stays that way.
Let's get this done today.

Spurs will be up for the Burnley game. Arsenal would be up for our game regardless.
Win one of our 3 games and we're safe. Leeds and Burnley aren't both going to win 2 games.

That was a big point that GB. It would have been easy to open up and end up losing.
Lamps knew Leeds were losing so a point would mean 1 win and a draw would see us safe even if Leeds did win both games.
Had we lost we'd be looking at needing 1 win and 2 draws or 2 wins.
Hence why that point is huge.
As it is 4 points will see us safe.
If Leeds lose a game then a draw will do it.
It's not great to rely on others losing but what this season has shown us is this team could easily lose all 3 games or 2 and a draw.

Let's hope we've got a win and a draw in us.

Definitely GB. Would be happy with a point though.
