I've had time to think about the game and how we played compared to what I saw of us last season. we looked so much better getting the ball forward, pressing the opposition and creating chances. first games of the season are always unpredictable as many of other teams have seen over the years. yes, it was not a good result but we played well. I just hope we can continue how we performed into the next game. Maupay is not good enough for us and we definitely need a new striker before the window closes. you can't blame the lad for trying when he was bought by club and gets picked by the manager (if you was a footballer, would you refuse to play because you're not suited for the club paying your wages? . I honestly don't think so! ) . give the lad some slack and wind your necks in to whoever thinks it's OK to abuse him (you wouldn't want yourself or family treated that way ) . anyway, back to the game. if we can continue to provide service and create chances the goals will come. we looked decent at the back. definitely need to give Jarad some game time over Keane imo, him and Tarks would create a solid wall at centre half. Patterson still needs to improve but you can see the potential he has and he will come good. Young is a great addition even at 38yo he improves the squad and puts 100% into his game. Garner looks like he will become a star player at the club and with Onana with him in the middle of the field we could he dangerous in the future providing they both stay. the future, in my eyes, looks good for us and the loan signing.

{Ed025's Note - good post that mate and i agree with everything you sat there..

That statement on abuse is standard for everyone and every situation. I will wind my neck in now!

Hit send to early then. the loan signing of Harrison is a good one. although injured he will be fit before we know it and gives us some extra depth and more options. when McNiel is fit again it will push the front line even harder again for places in the starting 11. one more striker signed to go along with Chermiti and DCL would be amazing.

McNeil and Iwobi can operate on either flank, so can Young. Harrison and Gnonyo, imo, both improve our squad and I’d be happy with either/ both.

I don’t agree with abuse in the slightest but giving him slack is something I also don’t agree with. He has had ample opportunities and some of those chances at the weekend are literally sunday league level. No confidence whatsoever. Snatched at one with his left foot, rather than his right (makes no sense) . 2 1v1’s, just slot it either corner or twat the thing.

Doucoure is also at great fault for me and I would have bollocked him if I was Dyche at half time. Slide garner in and it’s an open net. Don’t care if he is through and most people score it, it is football and the team is greater than the individual.

Too right. Maupay obviously didn't deserve the disgusting posts but he also needs to be held accountable for not being able to score when given decent chances.
Doucs definitely shouldve passed instead of shot.
The Danjuma one in the 2nd half, he shouldve just chipped the keeper but having not long come on, i'd let him off but i'd expect him to do better if a similar situation arises.

Questions of Dyche need to be asked if he sticks with Maupay next game. However he might start him just to prove a point about not being swayed by the whole 'social media' thing.
