Prepare yourselves for another "Moshiri Exclusive" interview mid September coinciding with the transfer window shut and how "we tried, we tried" "we offered good money" then twisting it to "very hard to get deals done with boardroom upheaval, the fans didn't help with this! ".

The club as very little to no money to spend simple, we only buy if we sell.

Where is the money we "apparently" offered last day of January's transfer window (convienent! ) , Beto £29m, Gallagher £45m haha they are extracting the urine!

Not to mention the apparent £2million shortfall needed for Gyokeres before Sporting swooped in! Boulaye Dia, £20million release clause expired last week but this week we are interested for £25million and Maupay. Please.

The Gnonto deal does not happen until Gray goes, why we asking for £12million as Leeds want £20million for him, we have raised approx £10million by offloading Simms and Samuals-Smith, we need the money to finance that and before people say we have got rid of a fair few, yes but this is only to bring us back into line with ffp and wages and won't be reused this season at same levels. Clear as day what the clubs doing and intention. They should just start being more transparent and not take us fans as fools and lap up this.

{Ed002's Note - You need to stop discussing finances - it is getting embarrassing. And what Gnonto deal are you thinking about?}

Why's it "embarrassing"? . I am fully aware the club has no money. Makes total sense to me Ed! .

The Gnonto "deal" that has been on-going for a month now, plenty of reputable people state we are the favourites to land him. I don't believe btw but only true imo if we sell Gray is my point.

{Ed002's Note - It is embarrassing as none of you seem to have any understanding of the finances.}

Any chance u can tell us about our finances then ed regarding buying power at the minute.

{Ed002's Note - It is of no relevance to you and it will be misunderstood.}

Think 99% of football fans don't understand this Ed tbf and needs more transparency us mere mortals scratch our heads at the figures thrown around in the media then belittled when question whilst still expected to fork out our clubs.

I have a fair idea how stuff work but not at your level obviously Ed, so in your opinion and knowledge.

How much do you think approx Everton have to spend this summer? and 7 months after our owner promised us a striker why we have not managed to achieve this. My opinion being simply because we have nothing in the coffers.

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't work like taht. The problems Everton have need to be addressed.}

5.) 27 Jul 2023
27 Jul 2023 15:39:07
Yes ed I fully understand that and on board with it and see what the club are doing to correct this.

Think you misread/ misunderstand my original post as my point was we have no money/ movement to get players in for the reason you state.

What is annoying as a EFC fan Ed is someone that knows our finances a lot better than you or I promised us a striker 7months ago conveniently after the window shut and stated he tried etc, suggesting we do have finances/ structure plan in place to purchase, 2months into transfer window and nothing, basically lying! That's why fan's don't understand or really care about finances Ed along with the total disconnect with the real world.

{Ed002's Note - The owner does not pick the players nor handle the transfer process. Everton are actively doining what they can for the strikers they have identified - although some are no longer available. This is an ongoing process.}

Getting so unbelievably embarrassing to read this stuff now. It's been plain as day for a few seasons now that we are in such trouble due to the vast percentage of income being spent on wages. It's completely unsustainable and needs addressing.

Now I have no idea what transfer budget there is this Summer, but having zero money to spend on transfers is just the same as having a billion to spend on transfers at present time because we simply cannot keep adding to the wage bill. Add in the financial scrutiny we have been under for the last couple of years and it explains why we have to work so carefully to demonstrate that we are working within the rules, that our incomings are balanced with outgoings plus concerted efforts to additionally bring our turnover into a sustainable situation.

As for Boulaye Dia, he may well have been available for cheaper with the expired clause but I would imagine that would require full payment upfront. Sometimes it just makes more financial sense to pay a higher fee with payments spread over a prolonged period. It is the same in every walk of life, such as a mortgage or finance plan on a new car. People don't want/ can't pay the required price in one hit so happily accept a higher long-term cost in order to have affordable "bitesized" payments. There's also the probability with Dia that he was not our first choice. El Bilal was who we seemingly wanted and obviously believed we could land so at the time of Dia's release clause, he wasn't the guy we wanted. These things happen and nobody is to blame in a circumstance like this imo.

It's never as black and white as "we sold 2 players for 10 million so we have 10 million we can spend". There's a whole host of additional fees involved which will impact that figure.

Without doubt there's tonnes more considerations involved too so maybe before people keep writing rants, take a second to consider the fact that pretty much none of us understand the process involved in multi-million/ billion pound businesses financials.

{Ed002's Note - Boulaye Dia remains an option.}

At a well ran club yes ed but this is Everton

Appreciate the replies Ed even if we don't necessarily agree on some stuff. We will see how this pans out and the calibrevalue of players coming in, I am not expecting much but be happy to get those that want to be here and put in a shift.

Think we are singing from the same hymn sheet Worcester when it comes to our finances and I understand it.

I also get tired of reading all the so called speculation which ya know just BS.

Fans have a right to question Worcester part and parcel of the industry.

The Dia deal would be a prime example of how poorly ran we are if we purchased now for the £34.5 value having not done so last week bearing in mind our owner stated money was there and offered in January for other targets in the same £20million region. So where's that gone and not utilised? but pay a 75% increase in fee over course of a week.

I don't believe we are genuinely pushing for these players at the values stated and will play out we get more low fee/ freebies which is fine but Moshiri and co should just be more open opposed to giving false hope.

{Ed002's Note - You have to stop discussing money.}

Worst thing ever to have happened is FFP. A business is a business isn't it and should be allowed to function as such.

{Ed002's Note - You really don’t seem to understand- this is hopeless.}

10.) 27 Jul 2023
27 Jul 2023 16:51:46
Not that hard understand Ed, you see something you want agree a price with the seller pay that upfront or over a structured agreed period, balance this against your yearly figures and budget keeping your wages/ spend within the ffp income generated that's crux of it ain't it Ed?

{Ed002's Note - No, why are you so obsessed with transfers?}

11.) 27 Jul 2023
27 Jul 2023 17:03:00
I think at this stage a deal for Dia makes the most logical sense, is there still some interest in Maupay from salernitana ed? . It’s a no brainer for me to get him in and sand Maupay the other way it’s is a feasible deal.

12.) 27 Jul 2023

Summer finances still depend on getting rid of the deadwood.
Gbmain 75k a week, 4m a year and 5m amortisation/ depreciation cost. £9M Cost on the accounts. Gomes 120k a week, 6.2m a year and around the same 5m amortisation cost.
Holgate if reports are true is on stupid money 70k per week £3.6m
Ali, 160k, 8m a year, no idea how his amortisation would work with money related to games to be honest but imagine it isn't a positive on the accounts.
Maupay, guess 50k a week, 2.6m a year plus around 5m write off.
So basically spending 40m a year on players with no positive impact on thr first team is absolutely crazy. Deal with this might have a chance of getting some good players in. I think a lot of massive amortisation costs hitting the accounts in the previous dreadful accounting years have been dealt with bar the above. So deal with this and we are in a far better financial state. Still paying far too much in wages tho.

I understand Accounting and it's function. Are Evertons Accounts audited ED?

{Ed002's Note - Of course.}

Without FFP our owner would have bankrupt himself and us so I am thankful for it Bill.

15.) 27 Jul 2023
27 Jul 2023 17:25:48
No obsession Ed. You said we don't understand transfers, I tried to simplify it best way I could and you said no that's not how it works, vso please simplify yourself then we may have a better understanding.

{Ed002's Note - It is hopeless I am afraid — you are convinced it is directly related to transfer.} }

27 Jul 2023 17:40:57
Not as straightforward as you make out Mocker.

We’re financially in trouble so have to get the best deals available.

Dia may have been available for £20m last week, but that may all have had to have been paid at once to get that price and therefore offering to pay more now to get a lower down payment may actually be the best option.

None of us know what finances are available, none of us know what deals are structured like and not sure why we’re bothered.

We’ve had years of throwing money around and have actually gone backwards.

Finally looks like we’re being sensible with money so let’s just sit back and wait for the start of the season.

17.) 27 Jul 2023
27 Jul 2023 17:40:59
Not sure why you think the club are not actively trying to sign new players. Didn't we just have a bid accepted for toure? He choose Atlanta over us. Not ideal but I'll judge when the transfer window shuts. But to say they not trying is naive and embarrassing.

18.) 27 Jul 2023
27 Jul 2023 18:14:42
Frightening read that is Norfolk. No wonder we are up s creek without a paddle.

Would be made up if we got Dia tbh. He can play anywhere across the front which is what Dyche seems to like. I think he is (certainly at this moment) a much better play than Toure is.

19.) 27 Jul 2023
27 Jul 2023 19:30:56
We still owe the Ali transfer fee Norfolk his wages are around 100k.
His fee rises if he hits the 20 game marker.

Only the people inside the deal will know if waiting makes more sense, can see a dozen reasons why it could. I agree with the ed that people are focusing on the finance side they can't fully know too much for rumours.

Some of the other links had obvious reasons to choose somewhere else, Dembele got loads of Saudi money, Gyokores and Toure got sunshine and Europa, we offered wind, rain, relegation fights and instability.

I'm convinced we'll get a striker in who is at least half as good as Tosun, Niasse or Maupay.
