The word on the street is that Sunderland will sign Scocco and when they do, the deal is in place for Fletcher to Everton.

ON.FrozenMind

1.) Blimey.we have just sold jelavic and now we going for the scottish version.at least jelly wasnt injured like fletcher is.

{Ed007's Note - Fletcher isn't THAT bad!}

2.) He is not that bad ed no he is worse than that. Not the player we need or want

{Ed007's Note - Neither was Jelavic.}

3.) Not Everton calibre sorry just not good enough.

4.) Why sign someone to be Velios' back up?.

Big Sam has confirmed in interview that Traoré pulled out of medical and he's on way to another club.
I suppose it's Everton with all these rumours coming in.

ON.FrozenMind

1.) Traore is injured according to reports and could be put for a month!

2.) 18 Jan 2014 22:28:19
He passed the medical at West Ham before he pulled out mate, so I don't think he's injured

Any news about the Dundee United's lads? I'd really like one or two to sign for us, we need to have a stronger youth team so that we can rely on them and get some money for them in the future

ON.FrozenMind

{Ed025's Note - talks are ongoing OFM, im sure there are deals to be done there mate, but its got to be slowly slowly with these youngsters..

1.) That's a stupid way of thinking we avnt even signed the kids yet an your thinking of selling him on already good job your not involved in football cause I think you ruin a lot of kids careers

2.) Whether you like it or not shakey, this is the Everton way, unfortunately. We have to trade to survive and it will continue to be the way as long as BK is in charge or until we get a new stadium and/or vastly superior commercial deals than the pitiful deals we have in place at present.

3.) Your only saying this because we sold Rooney years ago if any of the above posts are rite then why do we still have Baines Coleman stones excetera excetera I understand business is business but to sugest this is crazy when we just turned down 16 million pounds for Baines we have less debt than most pl clubs and were better run too

4.) I'm with shakey on this one days of us being a selling club r hopefully over

5.) Well you have no idea how this club is run if that's shat you believe!
Lescott, Arteta and recently Fellaini.
We sell to survive. We will sell to survive as long as Bill reigns.

6.) Sorry pal but your the one with no idea because arteta fellani an lescot all wanted to leave so your the one who don't have a clue mate look at the world class players we have now an who don't want to leave and are not being sold that's because we R no longer a selling club. Look I want new rich owners too but that doesn't mean the club is a selling club if you look at the news players are coming in not leaving. Wot do you think on this thread eds

7.) Maybe now things will be different with the new tv deals but over the last decade, out of the 20 teams currently in the premier league, we're bottom of the pile. I've tried sending the link but it won't come through for some reason. Go to transfer league.co.uk and scroll down to the table of transfers between 03/04 to present day. It's there in black and white.

8.) That should be bottom of net spend in the last 10 years. Over the last 5 we're in 19th with a £12.3m profit and we're not a selling club? Hmm, the figures tell a different story!

9.) Every club is a selling club - even the richest and most successful clubs - at some point, but hopefully only at the right price and/or at the right time.
We seem better placed financially than we have been for many years and RM has said that we don't have to sell players for anything other than football-based, not financial pressure, reasons.

10.) I think you're missing the point entirely Baron. In the past we HAVE needed to sell to survive, we couldn't make decisions based on football, as is apparently the case now. Others who have sold have done for massive profits or the player was no longer required, they've not needed to sell to keep the wolves from the door. Very different scenarios. Of course things seem to be improving now with the improved tv deal and the sales of Fellaini, Jelavic and Anichebe for c. £40m and we can now, finally, make decisions for purely footballing reasons.

Hi blues and eds, I'd like to ask you if you could stop posting all the so called liverpool fans posts that try to underestimate us and attack us by the way we play and saying things about us that haven't got any kind of sense.
When I enter this site I like to read the thoughts of us blues, not some stupid argument by a "kopite" that hasn't got anything else more interesting in his life that go on a site to try to bother other people. I recommend to all of these so called reds to find a friend or even buy a life.

Thank you mates, love the everton and the blues boys
We are and forever will be the most supported team in the city and the club in the community.

COYB NSNO Allez Allez Allez Oh!

(if you are a liverpool "fan" please don't bother replying, I don't give a rubbish to what you say)

{Ed025's Note - your concerns are noted OFM, and if you only knew how many of them i delete, you would know that its not an issue i take lightly, but it is a banter page mate, and if someone of red persuasion likes to come over and basically make a prat of themselves..then far be it from me to stifle them, but out of courtesy, i will put them on the other, or dodgy pages if it is causing friction..

1.) Completely agree with the o.p, who cares what they do or think, we are everton!

2.) Usually wouldn't care but they questioned our integrity and showed their true colours after City game. Deserve everything they get

Today as I was watching the game, I thought by the way we were playing that this kind of games are the ones that usually happen when a club faces three competitions (league, cup and europa league usually). I thought we were fine, not at all at our best, but we weren't that bad so I'm not having a go at our players for today's match. They and the staff have made us dream from start to end that we could finish top four. Mathematiclly is still possible, so nothing to be disappionted today, not our day, not our best performance, that just happens.

But what I was thinking during the game, it was Europe next season. Europa League is much difficult to combine with the league then CL, but anyway, as we will have europe next season, we REALLY need to sign players with decent quality that help the club in the league and in europe. We could really get in trouble if we don't add enough to our squad next season.
We need to rotate more the squad next season, have more fresh legs all over the park, and by that we need to sign. One or two big names that change games and maybe 4-5 that add to the squad (no crap players or any sort of low players).

I've got the feeling we will add correctly and hopefully enough to have strong competiton for all three tournaments.

Nothing but the best is good enough

ON.FrozenMind

1.) This has been my worry for ages now. IF we lose Barry, Lukaku and Deulefau that's 3 players we have to replace just to get the squad back to this strength we're at now, new signings more wages etc. I just hope to god there really is money there for new signings and I don't mean 10 million or losing a big player for mega money (do we have one left other than barkeley) and buying a semi marquee signing with the money. If we don't strengthen properly well struggle like Swansea and Newcastle did. Big lesson to be learnt from those 2 teams. Any word on Barry by the way Ed? Contract wise I mean obviously.

{Ed025's Note - not yet paddock, but his future will be decided very soon mate..

2.) Thanks Ed

I just want to sadly say that ex-Barça manager Tito Vilanova has died after fighting his cancer for two years.
Sad day for football, he was a good manager but above all, a great person.
RIP

ON.FrozenMind

{Ed025's Note - im with you there mate..RIP tito..

1.) A sad day in football.also Sandy Jardine has passed away.Thoughts go to both families at this present time.

Some good & young strikers which we could get in the summer and they really know how to create or score goals:
Victor Ibarbo - ST - Cagliari - 23 years
Alvaro Morata - ST - Real Madrid - 21 years
Iker Muniain - ST - Athletic Club - 21 years
Adrián - ST - Atletico de Madrid - 26 years
Kevin Volland - ST - Hoffenheim - 21 years
Roberto Firmino - MID - Hoffenheim - 22 years
Danny Ings - ST - Burnley - 21 years
Rubén Castro - ST - Real Betis - 32 years
Haris Seferovic - ST - Real Sociedad - 22 years

ON.FrozenMind

1.) Nice suggestions, those here my thoughts:
Ibarbo - Good player, possible but may be expensive.
Morata - Non-starter I'm afraid, the fee being quoted for him is too excessive.
Muniain - Good player, more of a winger or Attacking Midfield. Will also cost a lot due to Bilbao's "Basque-Only" transfer policy.
Volland - Would love this guy, potential for a cut price deal if Hoffenheim go down.
Firmino - My No.1 summer target. Superb player, similar circumstances as Volland.
Ings - Worth a punt, will no doubt be over-priced though.
Ruben Castro - Decent, but too old.
Seferovic - Heard the name, but not seen enough to make judgement.

{Ed002's Note - Firmino is certainly not an option.}

28 Mar 2014 22:11:45
How about Rubén Castro as an extra striker for next season from Real Betis?
The guy knows where the net is and he's has good attacking movement.
It will also come cheap because Betis (unfortunately) are bottom in the Spanish league and they have good players in their squad (they qualified for Europa League last season) but couldn't compete in three competitions and they'll be relegated.
So I'd go for Rubén Castro who's a proven goalscorer and would help the team in some matches for example against some teams in the group stages in the EL or some league matches; so the main striker could rest for the real tests in the league and in europe.
What do you think?

ON.FrozenMind

1.) 29 Mar 2014 00:10:23
He is also very very, very very! Old, I dunno mate, he could do a job for a season, betis have some decent players like that lad who was running at us in pre season, can't remember his name but he looked alright, not saying we should get him off one game just saying they have some decent players

i think that 18m is a lot less than I expect chelsea to accept, and 80k a week is a lot more than I expect everton to offer. I'd love to sign him for 18m and than paying him 50-60k a week.

Thanks Ed! I think It would be great if we could fill in 55.000 and about 50.000 (?) at games against mid table teams, but to be honest, a 60.000 capacity stadium would be world class to fill that even if its against the top 6 teams in the league and europe football games!

I'd love for everton to get this new stadium, this would send us to the next level and have profits with the stadium and not losing money. A question that I'd like to be responded is if this new stadium is built, what capacity would it be and if Everton could fill 55.000-60.000 in the stadium. Just asking! Thank you to all of you! COYB & CL football next season!

ON.FrozenMind

{Ed025's Note - it would have to be 55,000 OFM, we might not fill to capacity for a lot of games, but hopefully the bigger ones, and european nights would be rammed, i would expect it also to be used as a venue for concerts, boxing etc which would encourage sponsorship hopefully mate..

In Spain, Rayo Vallecano are a club which lives from free transfers and loan players. They play Primera Division and won't be relegated.
Their manager plays offensive football (this season 12W - 4D - 18L) and that's not bad with the players they've got and the situations they have to adapt every transfer market.
So I'd be quite confident that Green would get in their squad every week if he manages to do alright and adapt well in the team.

Just suggestions, but no European football.

What if Cleverly signs and proves you wrong? What if he scores the winner at Anfield?
Would you still thnk that about him?

And if he plays like you are saying, I guess you'll kill him won't you? :)

But let's hope another player comes to us anyway, a young and promising midfielder, I think we need more quality in midfield, somebody special.

ON.FrozenMind

{Ed025's Note - that would be good mate..

Swan, if we sign Cleverly (even though i'm not his biggest fan) you'll get behind him and the team, because he'll be wearing the famous royal blue shirt. And If RM thinks he is good enough to push us forward, let's trust him and the player. (I respect you opinion 100%)
To be honest, there's been quite a few players that we've sign and thought that wouldn't make it:

McCarthy → I saw him as a decent midfielder, and when we bought him for 13 milion I was worried. Looks like he is worth much more than that.

Gibson → I didn't see him play ever with MU, looked like a cheap and fast option to have more players in midfield: He's done excellent, some of his passes and to be honest i'm looking forward to see him play next season under RM

Kone (you still haven't seen him play much, but I have) → Played for Levante in Spain for one season and, to be honest Levante are a midtable team that have only spent 7 or 8 years in primera division, and he rocked them to Europa League scoring 16 goals, and didn't play more games because his parent club Sevilla had a contract that if he scored 18 or more goals in a season, he had to return to them, and if not, Levante could keep him.
Was bought by Wigan and scored 11 goals with them in the first season, and remember Lukaku has scored 13 this season with us, so just wait till next season (Lukaku is great, but Kone isn't crap).
I have full confidance that he'll prove himself at Everton, he will have to play a big part in Europe and some league and cup games.

Robles → HE IS GOING TO BE GREAT, plays for the U-21 in Spain, he's big, strong, has good reflexes and gives a lot of confidance with his feet.
Just look at David de Gea's first year at MU, he made some horrible mistakes, but in his second season was much more confident and has been a lot of times the best defensive player on the pitch for them.

I mean, we don't know who are we going to sign and if he'll play goo for us or not, I just trying to tell that every player that plays for Everton is for a reason, and he hasn't arrived there without doing nothing. He's worked had, he has put in good displays on the pitch, and even if we think some players aren't good enough to play at Everton, let's just see what our club wants to buy and what type of players they want in and out.

Everton Till I Die, COYB, Support every second Everton and never stop believing what we can achieve at Goodison.
I respect all the opinions, i'm just trying to be as positive as we can, the manager is so we have to be double positive.
Bright future at Everton, as it used to be and has normally been all our great history.

History, Passion, Honour, Desire, Heart, Community → EVERTON

ON.FrozenMind

{Ed025's Note - good stuff OFM, i was a gibbo doubter when he came, but he quickly won me over, i could be wrong about robles as well, but to be honest he does not fill me with confidence when he has played mate..

We got rid of his 60.000-a-week wages, that means that if his contract was valid till 30th June, that makes 150 days from today and adds up 1.285.714, 286 pounds on wages. So we can say we did well by letting him go on a free.

About Joel he WILL be Howard's replacement. He's just signed for us, came from Spain. It's difficult to adapt to a new country and a new lifestyle beeing so young.
I've seen him play matches, in Spain and at Wigan, he's brilliant, some unstoppable saves.
Remember De Gea's first season at UTD.
