Reports coming out that Yerry Mina has been offered to Flamengo in Brazil with Everton willing to let him go,

On one hand would be sorry to see him go as when he’s fit he’s one of our best defenders and a leader on the pitch.

On the other hand he’s way too injury prone and can’t see that changing - he’s also one of the biggest earners at the club and if he’s not able to play because of injuries seems a large wage to be paying for someone in the treatment room.

Simply his wages are too high for the time he actually plays. Real pity though has been solid when he's had a decent run.

Not sure flamengo could pay his wages unless we help though so may not be the best destination.

Agree Dan, reckon Frank must have someone lined up to take Mina’s place.

Doesn't stay fit enough but I love him when he's playing. Beast mode and such a wind-up merchant. Cult figure. Hope he goes and plays for someone with more luck on the injuries. He should have been closing in on 200 appearances by now. Definitely time to set him up for a summer transfer.

Decent player, Dominant in the air, not a great ball playing defender, injured far too regularly and replaceable. I like Mina but would probably be good business to sell and replace.

What about Branthwaite? 20 in the summer, surely he will get more game time next season, unless he’s loaned out?

When they report that the club won't stand in his way etc. . that sounds like he isn't in FL's plans, the 'sick note' aspect may have something to do with that?

Just let's get out of this Season status intact. Then we can do the rumour and speculation. Benitez was allowed to stay too long. Games coming up are going to test players resolve big time.

Cannot loan out Branthwaite. He’s our 4th choice and really should be first with how bad Holgate and Keane are and with how injury prone Mina is.

He needs to stay.

Agree Swan. We need to learn from these loans, loaned Niels out and ended up with no full back. Next season could be Branthwaites breakthrough season.

Brainthwaite should have got more game time and I don't think we should be loaning him out as he's good enough. Mina and Holgate out, makes space for Brainthwaite and a signing. Get a bit of money to fund a buy and reduces wages. That means we are less dependant on Keane as well which is important. Godfrey and a signing making the start with Brainthwaite challenging and getting game time and Keane basically used cover and competition, offering experience and advice to the others.
