My thoughts, were we bothered when we signed Beardsley, Hutchinson, Ablett, Sheedy, and all the others having come from them?
Conversely Barnby and McMahon who went to them from us never forgiven .

Let’s give whoever is appointed a chance and get behind the team if we don’t show solidarity with the club then we are beaten before we’ve kicked a ball.

There’s images going round of messages put up around Goodison that say “Benitez not welcome” and another with more offensive language “Rafa f**k off you fat Spanish c**t” and if they are real I can’t see the board following through with the appointment with things like that being placed around the ground.
My personal view is the appointment is too divisive of the fan base and best left alone.

I agree Jack Benitez would be a very divisive appointment and he should be swerved. The club will make its decision though and it will be what it will be.

That’s a real shame if people are doing that
He did a job and managed them
I’d give him a fair crap of the whip and judge on what we see on the pitch and results.

Agree if you don’t want the man then fine, but don’t need to be abusive about it.

Presume you meant crack of the whip there ST.
People need to grow up we’re trying to kick racism out of football, indeed society, yet here we have that sort of thing allegedly put up by our own fans. I thought everton were better than that, I thought we prided ourselves on how we behaved and our good nature. Bill was quoted recently that another chairman said “ when we have a problem we always say what would Everton do” because we do things the right way.
If these banners are in existence then that is shameful, stand by the club get behind the team and whoever is the manager or stay quiet and keep your hateful opinions to yourselves. We are Everton and better than this.

Think it will be too divisive appointment at all levels and we may end up in an even bigger mess further down the line.

Add to that he hasn’t actually achieved anything in the last 10yrs of management I’m not sure why Moshiri allegedly wants him.

Moshiri has previously said he wants Hollywood appointments - Rafa isn’t one of them - 8yrs ago probably but now I don’t think so.

Lol yes I did mean crack Big C 🤦🏻‍♂️
You are right, we are trying to remove racism, sexism as well, and everything else like xenophobia and tags round sexuality
Problem is, with this behaviour it makes the fanbase look toxic, which could put others off and players.

Sadly Gigerdan nobody is listening to you. But I agree to me he is on the decline, looking for that one last pay day. So he should fit in perfectly with some of our players.

Out of all the so called linked managers for me it has got to be rafa. Maybe he didn't play attractive football with toon but anchalotti didn't play attractive football with us either infact we played absolutly shocking at times. With money i am certain rafa will get us challenging. He will not bail, he will build a team to compete, surley all of us as evertonians want that so who ever is the manager rafa or anyone else we need to be behind them and support the team.

{Ed0666's Note - Martinez would be a nightmare.

I was keen on Rafa - think he's a steady hand that wants to be on Merseyside and knows how to get the best out of players at his disposal. And yes you can still do that without winning things depending on who the players at your disposal are!
However, I am starting to go off the idea. He seems to me like a very decent human being and wouldn't wish the sheer negativity, coupled with some vile abuse that he is already being subjected, to on him.
At best we've stood still for the last 5 years and we still have a lot of overpaid rubbish on the books. Whoever comes in has a monster job on their hands and it will take time so I think starting out with half the fan base disliking you because you used to manage a particular other team, and because you didn't win the prem with Newcastle is an impossible position.

{Ed0666's Note - what he said

I think a good manager will play the players to make the best of what he has at his disposal we need to be realistic that we don’t have the personnel to play the way we want and let someone come in and create the team.

ToffeeDavey i agree it will be an impossible position but that is when the haters need to swallow their pride and show their support for the Club comes in. Support your club unconditionally as the best fans in the world do. not throw your toys out the pram like spoilt kids.
