Dries Mertens rumour sounds interesting, I feel with Pienaar being at the end of his career it would give us a potent left & right side again.
What are your thoughts ED?

Was hearing allot of talk about someone playing number 10 for us next year though I haven't really heard us linked with anyone? Any news

{Ed025's Note - nothing on a No 10 EB, i do like mertens mate but dont bank on him coming..

1.) 01 Jul 2015 18:59:32
ed I think mertens may be the player to play behind the striker he has attributes to do this

{Ed025's Note - more of a winger bretto, but who knows?..

2.) 01 Jul 2015 19:56:16
the style that napoli play they tend to play narrow and he has played for belguim in the cam role and if kev stays these two could interchange plus kev been going on about he wants to play down middle

3.) 02 Jul 2015 14:49:25
We need a Number 10 who can pass the ball and support Lukaku. Mertens likes running at people and if the full back is quicker, he does not do anything all game.

4.) 02 Jul 2015 21:54:58
I can see DelBoy for the No10. role.

{Ed025's Note - not in the near future i suspect peter..

Nabil Fekir is being daubed a player we are considered as our new number 10 and would fit in well with current crop of playing group. Ed I'm not sure we would have the financial backing but surely with Lukaku, mcarthy stones & Barkley we would have a core of really good team if they can get him. I have read the Arse are looking at him as well.

{Ed025's Note - he is very hot property EB, we have very little chance of signing him to be honest mate..

Think you misread RM's strategy its actually Nab a Fu***r!

Everton have submitted a bid for Lazio midfielder Onyegi "Eddy" Onazi.

If true I really do not understand why we are loaning another striker, Michy Batshuayi I think he would be all we need! now yes cover in the middle but we cannot operate with one striker.

1.) For us to give ourselves our best chance Michy Batshuayi would be a cracking signing (in the summer looks more realistic) but for me we need someone more like finbogason who we've been linked with. this lad is a class act. Nsno

2.) Is there any substance to this ed? Thanks

{Ed025's Note - not that I have heard lew, we have made enquiries about him, but he has expressed a preference to go to Liverpool or fiorentina..

Hi All, I'm hearing Bibras Natkho is interesting us as he is going to be available on a free, plays in the centre of the park from Def Mid to attacking Mid. Main position is Centre Mid. Would give us great cover in the middle of the park.

Doubt it will happen but Michy Batshuayi would be an awesome addition to the squad of zero real strikers currently for next season.

Ryan Gauld is another name I have heard being mentioned rumoured to our club never heard mch about him though

1.) Natkho is an interesting player, would certainly provide needed cover in central midfield. The problem is that we'd have to go the "special dispensation" route for a work permit, as Israel is no longer ranked highly enough for his international caps to make it automatic. (Though if we could have made the signing last month, he would have qualified automatically.)

Batshuayi has a reported £6.8M release clause. Don't know if he's worth that gamble, or if his club might be willing to negotiate.

Gauld seems set on either staying in Scotland for now or moving to the continent, as he doesn't seem to think his style (and small stature) suit the English game.

2.) Deffinitely need a cm because osman as cover isn't helping one bit, just a shame gibson is a walking injury

It is sounding more likely we are going to spend ost of the Fellaini moey on Mcarthy. Can someone please explain how it is a good deal for us to pay the same money as we did for Fellaini.! Spurs pick up Erikson, & Holtby for less then that combined!
Martinez said he wanted to end the window stronger than we started. So far we have only added squad players with the exception of Deulofeu I am really worried we are offloading our 2 best players and replacing them with average players

1.) We should be paying £8mill max for McCarthy if we go in for him. If we pay £15mill, then we have completely p*issed away £21mill on Kone and McCarthy. For £21mill you can do a lot better

Hi Ed

Earlie in the year we were linked we a couple of these:

André Ayew LW
Tom Cleverley CM

Thought the two guys below would be good additions considering 3 of the 4 are Bosmans.
Dimitri Payet AM
André-Pierre Gignac Striker

Might be the case but Manu have much deeper pockets and 50 Mil is too much IMO.

Have to agree Jipster, I am also worried with depth of the squad in the attacking third. I hope its not a case we spent the whole budget on getting Lukaku ad have nothing left. I really hope we get the 2nd striker & a starting left winger

Isn't he a defender as well?

At the end of the day you don't have to like him. As long as he behaves himself & does the right thing by the team the manager would be happy.
