I've heard a rumour that because of the 115 Man City have against them, All English clubs could be banned from European Competitions. Any Eds know if this has any legs?

OptimumShots

{Ed002's Note - No, you cannot hold clubs responsible for charges that are not agaisnt them. And a huge amount of the charges are nothing more than noise.}

1.) 01 Sep 2024 21:27:16
Anyway this is an Everton site, I don't think getting banned from European football is something we need to be worried about right now?.

2.) 01 Sep 2024 23:19:16
Affected us many many years ago.

3.) 02 Sep 2024 00:45:22
Doubt a politician would dare self harm the game as those maniacs of the 80s did. We were never banned but pulled out by our government.

4.) 01 Sep 2024 20:43:15
Cheers Ed002, I didn't think it would be possible but thought I'd get an expert opinion ;)

5.) 02 Sep 2024 16:38:26
Yes we have never got over the ban we had from playing in Europe - short memories.

Just read a post that Man Utd have told Everton to 'get realistic' with Branthwaites asking price. The story goes on to say that Utd only have £50m to spend and have to sell players if they want to buy more, but buying clubs have to match their asking price. well in that case. match our f**king asking price you hypocritical tw@s.

Give us 50 million plus McTominay and we may just consider it. otherwise go bully someone else cause Braithwaite is on a long term contract.

2.) 20 Jun 2024 12:26:18
Just need to get a few journalists to make up stories that Man City or arsenal have bid £70 million for him they’ll soon panic.

3.) 20 Jun 2024 12:50:06
or you could all stop reading made up bull and see how it pans out?

4.) 20 Jun 2024 13:23:54
I can't imagine that Man U are the only interested party.
Someone would pay £65 million for him.

5.) 20 Jun 2024 17:11:47
I'd that 30mil, Mctominay and Wan Bissaka.

6.) 20 Jun 2024 17:42:53
Getting wound up over nothing boys, We aren't going to say "ah you have a point Utd it is unrealistic, here have him for £35mil. "

We hold all the cards. Here is worth a hell of a lot more than that to us. And that is what matters, its clear ffp seems to be a lot better than we had been lead to believe.

For the first time in a long time, i'm actually feeling positive about our future.

Reiss Nelson has handed in a transfer request at Arsenal because he is wanting a more prominent role. Arsenal are looking for around £20m including addons. I wouldn't mind him at us although with several clubs interested already like Crystal Palace, Fulham, Nottingham Forest, and West Ham it would be difficult for us to get him I would guess.

OptimumShots

Palace would suit him especially if Olise or Eze go.

For a little bit of fun (and to get away from the recent negative talks), I decided to name a 30-man list of players that have joined during the Moshiri era.

Who would be in your starting lineup (and bench) from the list?

Robin Olsen
Asmir Begovic

Defenders

Ashley Williams
Michael Keane
Yerry Mina
Lucas Digne
Kurt Kouma
Jarrad Branthwaite
Ben Godfrey
Vitalii Mykolenko

Bernard
Alex Iwobi
Fabian Delph

5.) 03 Jun 2024 22:46:26
Stones was bought in 2013 by everton, moshiri didn't purchase everton until Feburary 2016, he was the first major sale from the moshiri era though (£50m to Man City in August 2016)

Wander and Pasko have resigned from their positions in 777.

OptimumShots

1.) 18 May 2024 11:41:39
They’re a pair of crooks and should not be anywhere near our club.

{Ed002's Note - It leaves Everton with a huge problem.}

2.) 18 May 2024 12:58:02
Have to wonder what Moshiris fascination with 777 was/ is all about.

{Ed025's Note - i have a feeling there will be an Usmanov connection with 777 DFS, or is that just my nasty mind mate?..

3.) 18 May 2024 13:18:44
It’s mine as well mate they have been buddies for years.

4.) 18 May 2024 20:12:53
Well they were my thoughts ED25 but ED002 did say to another comment on the Russian connection, that someone was teasing them. We are on very tenuous ground here, with Government sanctions etc! But these are incredibly powerful people some more than Countries. Governments can say what they like but even ours is somewhat neutered beyond our own financial borders.

{Ed025's Note - i have a certain distrust of people with lots of money mate, there is something dodgy with all of them and how they gained their wealth be it tax dodging, ripping people off or even things more sinister...if you have more than me you are a crook in my book.. :)

5.) 18 May 2024 18:06:35
Ed02 does it still leave a huge problem if msp take over an turn the 200+ million into shares.

{Ed002's Note - You don't understand I am afraid. You can't turn other people's debt in to shares.}

6.) 19 May 2024 14:13:26
Cheers ed02.

7.) 19 May 2024 19:49:00
You certainly can go from being a creditor to a shareholder. It’s very common practice and could be advantageous to both parties.

MSP investors would be happy with this and seems the most likely route. Plus they seem to have stacks of cash so could burn through a few hundred million without much problem haha.

From our current squad, bearing in mind that we will need to keep hold of some players as squad players, who would you keep, sell and release from them all?
Mine would be:

Jordan Pickford (keep)
Joan Virginia (keep)
Andy Lonergan (contract expire, release)
Billy Crellin (contract expire, release)
Nathan Patterson (keep, loan out)
Michael Keane (sell)
James Tarkowski (keep)
Ashley Young (contract expire, release)
Vitalii Mykolenko (keep)
Ben Godfrey (keep)
Seamus Coleman (contract expire, renew)
Jarrad Branthwaite (keep)
Dwight McNeil (keep)
Amadou Onana (sell)
Abdoulaye Doucoure (keep)
Dele Alli (contract expire, release)
Andre Gomes (contract expire, release)
Idrissa Gana Gueye (contract expire, release)
James Garner (keep)
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (keep)
Beto (sell)
Yourself Chermiti (keep, loan out)
Lewis Dobbin (keep)
Arnaut Danjuma (loan expire)
Jack Harrison (loan expire)

Returning from loan

Mason Holgate (sell)
Really Maupay (sell)
Sean McAllister (contract expiring, renew)
Eli Campbell (keep)
Harry Tyrer (keep)
Stanley Mills (keep, promote)
Zan-Luk Leban (keep)
Reece Welch (contract expiring, release)

I don't know much about the under 21's but players I'd like us to keep and renew contacts would be:

George Pickford (loan out)
Kyle John (renew)
Lewis Warrington (release)
Charlie Whitaker (loan out)
Mackenzie Hunt (renew)
Tyler Onyango (loan out/ promote)
Martin Sherif (loan out)
Roman Dixon (loan out)
Halid Djankpata (loan out)
Isaac Heath (loan out)
Francis Okoronkwo (keep, promote)

1.) 12 May 2024 22:06:08
I'd be very similar to you, although I'd actually keep Chermiti to be the backup to DCL, coming on for 25 mins gaining experience and developing that way, with Beto being the one to go out on loan. He's very raw, but I don't think you should give up on him after just one season. Allow him a season at a newly promoted club, Ipswich or perhaps a West Brom/ Norwich type club if they win playoffs, where he can play much more regularly. It gives him a year to fully adjust to demands of Premier League and allows us to assess him then - is he showing the necessary quality, can he make an impact moving forward in future etc. It worked an absolute treat when a raw Lukaku took a loan to Brom and developed into a very decent player.

2.) 13 May 2024 12:36:11
Based on the last 3 seasons (this one when we were on that massive winless run) idk if we can risk loaning Beto to a Newley promoted club WEFC. depending on our sales/ releases and recruitment (which is likely to be very limited) , we could be battling at the bottom again.
I do agree with Optimus on most releases/ sales, except Gana, and I am somewhat resigned to losing Branth, as much as I’d love to keep him. We also definitely can’t go down to 1 senior striker in Dom by selling Beto and loaning Chermiti, we won’t have the funds to replace.
In any case, with that many outgoings we will need a lot of astute recruitment to have a squad for next season!

3.) 13 May 2024 20:40:40
Tmh, we do have an option to extend Gana's contract by another year but given he is on £130k a week it's a massive wage for someone his age and that sort of money could be spent a lot more wisely hence the reason why I said to release him.

Breached the psr rules for 3 seasons whilst in the Premier League but because they got relegated and the accounts ended on June 30th 2023 they can't be charged there after? What utter bollocks.

Why shouldn't we play hardball Mocker? Every other club seems to do it with players they have under contract. Look at Leeds last summer for example, we wanted Gnoto, they said he's worth x amount, we didn't want to pay it, they kept him despite him publicly wanting to move. We have to start being as ruthless as others if we want what we deserve.

Do you ever see Spurs just bowing out at a lower fee? No. They set their price and that's final regardless of what other clubs want. If Man utd really want Branthwaite that much then they need to pay what we want them to pay not what they want to pay.

Seen a post on Instagram about Utd being interested in JB and the amount of Utd fans commenting and saying they didn't want him, that he would be the next Maguire, and he wasn't good enough to even get into the England squad is unreal. If only he could see that he isn't wanted by their fans and how much we love him here. if you're reading this JB then screw them and stay a toffee :)

I mentioned to a friend yesterday that I'd take a fluke 1-0 victory as long as we got the 3 points. A win is a win at the minute, regardless of how it comes. I didn't think we played too bad. Pressed them well, which ultimately led to us getting a fluke goal.

Very bad decisions yet again by Dyche. He should of brought on fresh legs when they went down to 10 men, but he waits until the 83rd minute and brings on 2 players that won't chase the ball down like the ones he took off. Beto is not the player for me. He is lazy, got no speed or strength and falls over far too easily for a man of his size. But a win is a win and very vital at this moment.
