Reported Gray has passed his medical and will move to a Saudi club, with him going wonder if we will go for a couple of freebies.

Shame he didn’t go before the deadline, may have opened up some more options for us…. Or was that the plan from the top…

Any good free agents out there? .

"Everton fans have always been great with me but it's so difficult to play for someone who don't show you respect as a person. " Demarai quote from today. Suspect this was said at the airport on his way to Saudi.

4.8 million? Seems cheap considering we were looking for 20million and it's Saudi? Maybe 4.8m is his weekly wage?

All kinds of stuff to unpack with this one. Apparently he was denied a move to a London club after he'd passed a medical. Now Gerrard wants him but the fee is cheaper than what a Premier league club was bidding? SD blanks him for weeks and then last night says he's going to be back in the fold and will be an important player. Now player blasts SD (and seems fair) for dic9ing him around. No coming back from that post and more inept level management that now leaves us short a winger a position we seemed desperate for. Man management class definitely skipped by the sweaty nose picking one. What is it with these guys who take charge of us and get their egos in the way of doing best for the club?

Some players prosper under certain managers, unfortunately it seems that this relationship has gone the other way. It's a managers prerogative to play players that follow instructions, I fear DG's tendancy not to track back or beat his man and throw in a cross. No big loss him leaving, third choice at best for his position.

We don’t know how Gray has acted in this scenario. He’s hardly likely to blame himself for the current situation. Either way, we should let him go to the highest bidder. Free agent wise, there’s a couple of interesting options. Lingard, Morelos, Marega, Jovetic are some of the better known options. Could do with a couple more on 1 year contracts.

Kasper Schmeichel if you want another keeper
Reggie Cannon US right back 28 caps
Ramos for a mercenary on high wages but a bit of steel at the back

I’m hoping we have someone in the U23’s who breaks through this season Onyango is involved with the first team
Perhaps Ryan Astley can step up.

JB toffee
if Lingard is one of the better options out there! I pray we avoid all! Too many here still on stupid wages so just okay kids we have if need be!
We need to stop paying top wages for has beens!

Fair enough. Don’t think a one year contract would hurt personally. Lingard has shown his quality on many occasions. He was outstanding in his first spell for West Ham.

{Ed025's Note - Dele Alli mark 2 for me JB and should be avoided mate..

I think you’ve got to look at his career so far:

Had issues at Leicester and left

Left Leverkeusen after 6 months and they were happy for him to go for similar if not less than they paid for him.

Doesn’t seem to put much effort in when plays - admittedly he has flashes of good performances but not regularly - he also doesn’t do much defensively.

Was given a run out as our number 9 when DCL was injured and didn’t step up.

Wanted to leave and was off to Fulham but that fell through.

Has now posted a childish Instagram post which risks dividing the dressing room and upsetting the apple cart - Pickford allegedly has unfollowed him.

Whilst he can play well at times, I think those times are few and far between and can’t keep him at the club as he’ll be a negative influence.

Not sure this can all be blamed on dyche or the club as feel Gray has a lot to do with the issues.

If there’s a better free transfer out there, go and get him by all means. My view is that the squad is too small. With injuries, we’re in bother.

It’s all a bit fingers crossed on the injuries front until Jan transfer window. And, given the way Dyche likes his players to play full games, week in week out, that’s going to be an issue. Ashley Young’s going to used a lot this season.
