So James Rodriguez (free agent) is being linked for a return to the blues according to the Echo. With SD allegedly keen on the return they report. So just as a bit of fun ignoring the ffp restrictions and wages and relegation threat who would have him back?

For his skills yes! Although would he track back and win the ball back? Not sure but if you play for Dyche that’s the only way to get a game by working hard so could SD get him playing that way?

Over to you Blues what do you think or shall we ask the Ed to make a poll.

He’ll go where Ancelotti goes/ is.

That may be what happens but that’s not what I asked.
To put it simply if it was your decision would you resign him yes or no?

Not for me thanks doesn't work hard enough for the team. Don't think Dyche would want him as he is a passenger when defending.

Can't see why we wouldn't bring him back under certain conditions like pay as you play or something along those lines. His wage demands has to of decreased.

Exactly what we need. I know when we don't have the ball it's 10 defenders and a goalie, which isn't his strength. We need an attacking midfielder and as long as he doesn't break the bank, why not? Who else is going to come running to sign for us?

To be fair I don’t think i would I’d rather have Richie back, as the click bait suggests spurs will look to move him on this summer possibly at a loss due to not scoring as many as hoped. Just some mid week musing before the weekend paranoia of checking scores and the table every 30 seconds starts again.

Alot would depend on his wages, if was anywhere near his reported previous wages then i'd swerve this, however if he was prepared to lower his demands and was more inline with the squad then perhaps, i'd prefer a pay as you plat deal but doubt he or his team will be prepared to and will like most chose the last payday squeeze as much as ya can attitude instead of the love or enjoyment of playing.

Richy would be good big C but I don’t think we’ll ever see him in an Everton shirt again. His Brazil form will lead another elite club taking a punt on him.

I would give James a chance under certain conditions, a sensible wage for a start. When he played he was the most gifted player we’ve had since probably Rooney (first time around) . The way he could unlock a defence was a joy to watch.

I would bring him back in a heart beat, but pay him per game.

Sorry BC, I meant I wouldn’t have him. He was an Ancelotti luxury that struggled with premiership pace.

I’d take Richy back and look to replace DCL in an ideal scenario.

When he plays it is a boost (same as DCL) . Problem is he cannot take the physicality.

Genuinely do not get some fans obsession with wanting ex-players back.

They've left and moved on and so should we as a club

We should be looking at recruiting the next up and coming players not ex-players and particularly those wanting a final payday.

As for Rodriguez it’s be a big no from me, whilst had flashes of brilliance when with us he was far too inconsistent, his wages would still be ridiculous and absolutely no way he’d have the work rate that dyche would want.

Thanks for joining in blues that was a small distraction before the weekend madness

No thanks. Work rate is key, his has never been his forte.

Not for be. Had good moments but through a whole game. Too hyped up when he joined, but with little return, hence we let him go!

Not obsessed with bringing players back. We didn't let him go. It was the French Waiter who forced him out ignorantly. Also sold Digne the day before he was sacked. That's on the hierarchy at the club.

My point was if his wages are not high and there is no fee, why not? It is concerning that none of his recent clubs kept him on.

On the other hand who else can or will we sign in his position? We haven't the money and players aren't queuing to sign for us because of that and also how we are doing. Beggers can't be choosers is the way I look at it. I can obviously see why so many don't want him back and fair enough. Maybe give one of the youths a go.

I'd def bring him back if possible. I'm accepting of the fact he'd likely only play 50% of games but damn he's a game changer on his day.
You don't play him in those tough games where we expect to defend for our lives, but those matches where we want to be the attacking team, him in the advanced midfielder role, we'd pick up a hell of a lot more points than with Doucoure playing there. Luxury player to a degree, but a luxury player that stops the relegation peril we've had these last two years.

Absolutely WorcesterEFC. An option is what he would be. A decent one, in my opinion. Looks like it's 50/ 50 at best whether people would like to see him back or not.
