I know we haven't signed anyone yet but I'm actually quite glad that we haven't and have been more focused on getting rid of players. I'm assuming that they're doing it this way so they can actually see what they will be able to spend on players wages without getting in trouble again.
With some clubs already spending big money on players the silly transfer merry go round will soon start where they will be desperate to get players off there own wage bill or players wanting to leave for game time especially with the euros next summer.
Let's just enjoy the quiet time rather than getting annoyed by not signing players we were never linked.

I totally agree with what your saying, but as a supporter that's not easy, every supporter wants players in asap and the best we can get, waiting is not easy and the longer it goes the more frustrated it becomes, plus after the January transfer window and we didn't get anyone, I wouldn't trust anyone at Everton to do the right thing for Everton football club, just what covers there asses for the mess they have caused .
We live in hope, players going I'd say we need at least 5 players in the door and a few more out.

Whilst several players have left at the end of their contracts we haven’t actually sold anyone yet so not sure what positives you think there are regards the alleged focussing on getting rid of players.

The positive is that it frees up much needed space on the wage bill. Some big earners have left the club.

But to say we’ve been focussed on moving players on when in fact they’ve left at the end of their contracts and the club haven’t actually done anything in the leaving is nothing to get excited about.

When we actually see a player leave and we receive a fee or when we actually sign a player then we can start to get excited about the recruitment at the club.

Unfortunately there’s nothing to get excited about at the moment in relation to the moving on of players - we’ve seen Tom Davies and Yerry mina leave but haven’t replaced them.

Understand the wages are off the books, however surely we should have tried to move these players on before their contracts ended as we may have actually got something for them.

The recruitment at the club has been poor for a while, hopefully we start to move in the right direction at some point in terms of recruitment, retention and sales.

We were never going to sign anyone before 30th June. Work will be going on behind the scenes.

Listen lads feel free to be excited about anything you want. Didn't realise we weren't allowed to be excited about things.

"Work will be going on behind the scenes". Just like in the previous window? In Bill we trust?

In Bill we trust, you joking, surely.

It seems some of the players we’ve enquired about are still playing internationally with the U21s of their respective countries, likewise Grey is playing with Jamaica and if he is moving on that’s unlikely to happen while he’s involved in that. With regard to the new kit I noticed Iwobi was modelling the kit so maybe not ready to leave for champions league football.

Interesting we haven’t had to sell this year to balance the books. Was expecting a sale before the end of year deadline today. I have no doubt we’re still struggling but obviously don’t need to sell the fine China to make ends meet this year.

I feel the same way Gibbo. Was fully expecting Onana/ Pickford to be sold this week, so maybe we’re in less of a mess than I thought.

Hopefully we can raise funds by selling Gbamin, Holgate, Simms, Gomes and Maupay. We could (maybe) get £40m to £50m for that lot? Surely that’s better than selling Onana/ Pickford?

Pickford would be nearly pure profit, Onana we would make a loss or maybe make a small profit of the figures quoted are to be believed
so depending on what he goes for.
Gbamin is still on the books for around 10mill, Gomez around 6mill
Maupay around 8-10 million and simms and Holgate would be profit.
So possibly a profit of 6-10 million without Onana and Pickford.

Getting players off the books, especially those on high wages, is a positive move. GD, you say that they leave for free but most of these players have been getting grief from most fans for one reason or another. We save on wages which gives us more scope to play with if we ever do sign new players. Obviously, I'd prefer to get a transfer fee for them but them leaving means we don't pay them anything. That's got to be a bonus in our situation, right? Providing we bring others in during the summer.

Let's see where we are when the pre season starts and then again when it's 24 hours of window. We either go as we are with some loans or we sell some of our money makers and see what we are allowed to spend. It's not going to be fun or exciting and it's almost certainly going to be very frugal and uninspired. Doubt we will sell anyone of any value until the last minute because it'd be insane of a buyer to come early considering we reek of desperation. Still so much to fix and nothing is done until we know how the new ownership/ investment is sorted. And again that's probably going to take all summer. The only saving grace is that Luton will be the whipping boys and do a Swindon/ Derby and go for the low point record and Sheffield U will also struggle. Bournemouth are full of money and will not be a relegation contender and I think Forrest will also improve. We just need to find 1 more team to blow up. And that's optimism.
