Maguire to Everton, although I don't think it will happen, wouldn't be the worst move.
Yes Branthwaite has potential but Maguire is better than what we have got now in my opinion.

He has never let England down, and I am by no means saying he is a long term answer but honestly we do not have a centre back who is better at this time.

I wouldn’t swap Tarks for him, no chance.
If he was any good, Utd would keep him, they’re short of defenders themselves.

For me Maguire is much better than our current Central defenders but we couldn’t afford his wages 200k per month no chance plus a substantial fee, we have no chance, we are still struggling to pay 15 million, paper talk.

If he’s better than what we have then what do Man U know that we don’t? Because they seem to want Branthwaite and offload him! So that being the case maybe, we should keep our lad, give him a run in the first 11 and get him to sign on further. Then if we need the money still, we have a sellable asset in the worst case. Or we keep him and have England’s best keeper and centre back.

I'm sitting on the fence about Maguire but for arguements sake let's say we do sign him he could be our top goalscorer at the end of the season.

We can argue all day on the merits of Maguire as a player. To me he's like Marmite - some love him, some hate him. I don't think he has done well with Utd but he's not had a bad game for England

What I can't get my head around is the financial aspect to any notion of going for him. Utd want a substantial fee for him and he is on a reputed £200k a week.

He might come down a bit on wages but he would still probably end up as our best paid player, possibly alienating others in the squad.

It's also very doubtful we could make any money from him if we then wanted to sell him later on.

I'd rather we went for 2 or 3 younger signings with a desire to succeed.

I cannot understand the pursuit of Maguire. Not because I think he's a bad player but because Everton's priorities as far as signings should be clear to one and all. It isn't a centre back. Concentrate on signing what is desperately needed.

It’s all paper talk, he will go to a much much higher positioned club than Everton, for me he had one up and down season at United other than that he’s one of the best centre backs in Europe, also we can’t afford this high calibre of players at Everton, we could afford the young Swedish Coventry Striker never mind the captain of England.

So Maguire is bad for Utd and Good for England. I see 1 problem there. We aren't England. He's a woeful player. Play Branthwaite. And if he gets injured, I'd rather put Reece Welch in the team before slabhead.

Maguires career is on a big downward curve, of course he would be perfect for Everton.
If this did happen (signing players on their way down on big wages) , then it would show we have clearly learnt nothing.
Ask yourself why do utd want to offload Maguire, while showing interest in Branthwaite?

What’s no good for United could be good for other clubs, United are a top four club, massive difference, but I am not saying we need another central defender all I am saying is that it’s paper talk that Everton are favourites to sign him Rubbish! We couldn’t afford him even if we were crying out for him, all the money should go on a striker, but unfortunately they’ve missed out on the best one, the Coventry Striker, just hope he doesn’t rub are noses in it when he plays at Goodison on Saturday.

Why are we even looking at maguire if rumours are true tarks an jarred all day for me we need forwards we should be addressing the final 3rd someone who can contribute scoring with the wingers maybe a left back for comp with myalenko but i seriously would look at 2 forwards i think we need 2 forwards infact haha.

In my opinion, Uran, he's not even one of the top cb's in the premier league let alone Europe. He plays well for England but he's been poor for Utd since they splashed out that astronomical amount for an average cb. We've got enough wasters at cb so I'd rather us concentrate on the one position that's needed filling since Ron left. That's how we should be spending any cash we have available to strengthen or we will struggle yet again.
