See rumours spurs are in for Godfrey. Can we have there pants down and demand 50 million?!

Witty41

{Ed025's Note - i will be honest Witty i would take 50p mate..

1.) 07 Dec 2023 17:50:25
Haha yeah a bit tounge in cheek as sadly if the lad was owned by Robbie fowler he would be fit for the glue factory. Just hate the way spurs operate. Having said that I think there has been too much hype / sensationalism over Richardson. When you look at his stats for us they aren't amazing so I think maybe 60m was fair.

2.) 07 Dec 2023 21:51:02
Would take a swap.

3.) 07 Dec 2023 22:03:29
I'd have the way spurs operate over the way we have.

4.) 08 Dec 2023 16:12:20
You can pull mine down for 50p, sheil roads finest.

5.) 08 Dec 2023 19:30:25
Wrong! He is a good player, just not good enough for the positions currently occupied.

6.) 13 Dec 2023 17:49:18
Do a deal with Dele and swap with one of their midfielders like Hojberg.

Not really grateful for the point to be honest. Flat performance. I would still keep beto but agree with other posters we need a much better number 9. I know Harrison scored but he's dross I'm afraid as is lindstrom and dacoure.
Alcaraz our best player at the moment. He is class. O'brien again quality. Tarks and branth solid. Mykalenko good defensively but offers nothing going forward
There's lots of positives but boy do we need to add some quality in the summer! Feel we need a striker w quality wide players and a left back.

Witty41

1.) 09 Mar 2025 03:27:32
I think we should cut our losses on him totally come the end of the season mate but I agree with everything else you say.
We definitely need to get Alcaraz in on a permanent deal and add some quality on the wings. I think we also need to strengthen both full back positions and, depending on Gana, possibly a holding midfielder. A busy summer ahead of us mate.

08 Mar 2025 20:51:46
Got to say thought that was poor 1st half. Ususal suspects offering nothing, dacoure lindstrom. I know Harrison scored but he offers so little and never seems to try and win the ball with any conviction. Dacoure and beto just can't seem to get a grip of the ball. I know it's 1 1 and only halftime but that half has worried me. Like to alcaraz for dacoure ASAP.

1.) 08 Mar 2025 21:02:43
Totally agree hopefully a good HT team talk and we go again would like to see chermiti get some minutes aswell. COYB'S points are here for the taking.

2.) 08 Mar 2025 21:14:59
Ever since Garner has come back from injury, his dead ball delivery has been atrocious. His corners rarely beef the first man and his free kicks are woeful.

3.) 08 Mar 2025 22:10:54
Another point is all that matters but it was a poor game all round. Definitely not an advert for EPL late late Saturday games. Also Beto has been amazing with his 5 goals and was a mild beast against LFC but tonight and last game he's reverted back to utter donkey. Felt very disjointed and maybe a few still had their flip flops on? Gana G was immense and Alcaraz must start over Doucs next game.

4.) 08 Mar 2025 22:14:51
Whole game was poor.
But another away point and 8 unbeaten.
Thought it was Moyes and his team’s worst performance yet but I don’t want to criticise DM too much as points he’s picked up are amazing.
Today showed to me and fellow blues (again) Doucs, Harrison and Lindstrom are poor and need to be gone but I’m sure DM wil do so.
Why Alcaraz doesn’t start us my only criticism of DM?

5.) 08 Mar 2025 22:41:27
Have to agree witty fought harrison yes granted he scored but his passing was poor tonight lindstrom wasnt up for it fought garners set pieces and passing was poor and beto really didn't get involved fought dacoura was poor didn't link up well with beto but when charley came on he played well was on the ball making stuff happen he has to start next game surly i'm suprised chermiti never got any minutes but just one of those days a point is better than none but shout out to gane who i fought was immense tonight for 35 years old that lad was winning the ball all over the place he deserves a 1 year extension he was everywhere but west ham next at home won't be easy like.

6.) 08 Mar 2025 22:55:29
Agree Andy
With all your points and won’t be easy but think all 3 points will be ours against WH and any blues who wanted Potter will see why Davey was the best fit for us Blues.

7.) 08 Mar 2025 22:56:58
Completely agree with you andy. I didn't mention gana, he was superb and has been all season. Hope he gets another year, deserves it. Thought alcaraz lifted us. He's our best player at the moment.
We look solid defensively, midfield I think we are OK but need some quality additions offensively.

{Ed025's Note - we need an upgrade on Beto I’m afraid Witty..

8.) 09 Mar 2025 00:08:41
Yeah, I agree with you Ed I think I got a bit carried away with his recent goals but Brentford away he should have scored and tonight I thought he was very poor sadly. Still like the guy and rate him more than dcl who I would be content to see go.

{Ed025's Note - I like the guy as well Witty. But he’s just not good enough to be a main striker imo mate..

9.) 09 Mar 2025 08:03:42
Maybe alcaraz isn't starting as if he starts 6 games it triggers a 15 million fee, but if he comes on as sub it doesn't count, maybe that's why he's not starting.

26 Feb 2025 20:03:02
Playing OK so far. Having said that I feel we need a much much better left back / option on the left going forward.

Witty41

1.) 26 Feb 2025 20:29:55
Very frustrating half of football.

2.) 26 Feb 2025 21:02:59
Mykalenko Harrison dacoure lindstrom are all too poor a player if we want to really kick on.

3.) 26 Feb 2025 22:03:15
Dacoure has done well.

4.) 26 Feb 2025 23:16:47
Well he didn't play tonight. He was 'effective' in the Derby but if you think he's 'done well' in general either me or you need to go to specsavers lad and I just had my eyes seen to recently!

5.) 27 Feb 2025 07:03:16
Been just got first hearing aids at 75 diagnosed in the late 70's so not bad. Yes Dacoure has been effective under Moyes. Problem on these sites is we all know better than Managers.

21 Jan 2025 23:24:06
Just reading some of the prev posts. Re armstrong. if you are good enough you are old enough!

What has age got to do with it?

Witty41

1.) 21 Jan 2025 23:53:26
Careful Witty. You are only allowed to support and back certain players mate.

2.) 22 Jan 2025 07:41:03
Time to let it go and move on fellas.

3.) 22 Jan 2025 11:08:47
I imagine with the change in manager we may now actually see some of the youngsters given a chance.

Dyche was too stuck in his ways to use the youth set up and would rather stick with who he knows than actually pick players on form.

Just look at O’Brian - couldn’t get a look in with Dyche and he’d rather start Keane over him. Moyes plays him and he looks a natural.

4.) 23 Jan 2025 19:36:15
And Keane remained on the bench and shakey when he came on. Still think we should be training Keane to be a midfielder who takes long shots out stick him upfront.

13 Dec 2024 00:40:45
Im not being a pessimist or looking to disappoint people but i just have a feeling regardless of the sale of the club i'm not convinced the new owners will suddenly part company with dyche straight away and he could be here until his contract is up. (future results dependent) Having said that, i do think results will turn and we will stay up quite comfortably. I don't think that will start at arsenal this weekend though. I think the rebuild so to speak will be summer 25. I do believe the club will start turning a corner and the future is bright!

Witty41

1.) 13 Dec 2024 09:02:54
people won't like to hear it Witty, but it's also great news if Dyche can turn us round, keep us up and then part ways in the summer.

as you say the next chapter is a rebuild, i'd rather the new regime's focus from here until the summer being getting everything in place (boardroom, CEO, DOF, Strategy)

& i'd rather the rebuild on the pitch not be a mid-season managerial panic.

Wolves have kept O'Neill this long due to them struggling to see value in replacements, the only two names that stand out are Potter and Moyes right now.

people also need to look at the finance behind it, paying off Dyche and then scrounging round the free agents pool of manager sonly due to PSR.

i'd hope everyone is rather hoping Dyche gets us back on track, and we can start fresh in the summer with more potential options, than panicking now.

2.) 13 Dec 2024 09:37:29
No game in the prem is an easy game and we got some hard games coming up but so have the clubs below us so let’s see what happens and enjoy Christmas COYB.

3.) 13 Dec 2024 12:00:51
Hardly panicking though is it mate? How many games have we actually won over the last 12 months home and away? We are in danger of becoming a clone of his Burnley days, the manager simply isn't good enough and I don't trust him to keep us up when you consider the way he sets us up to play. If we fall into the bottom 3 over Christmas then there is little alternative other than to give him the boot. We can't leave anything to chance with the new stadium almost ready, it wasn't built for championship football after all.

4.) 13 Dec 2024 23:06:25
Sacking dyche won't have much impact on our PSR. The club are confident they are well within PSR for the year 23/ 24 so paying Dyche and his team until the end of the season won't impact this year's Psr massively. I can see Dyche in charge until the summer unless we drop deepp into the bottom 3 and I can't see that happening.
Best get used to it he's most likely going to see out his contract.

Think these are all good points re early signings etc. However aren't the majority of footballers on holiday now as the season just ended? For that reason alone I wouldn't expect any signings until at least much later June/ july.

Witty41

{Ed025's Note - thats a very good point Witty..

Agree with you mocker. In fact i find myself agreeing with most things you post.
After previous windows i would rather we signed nobody if they aren't going to improve the side but hopefull for 1 or 2. i'm grateful to harrison as he's done his best and had his share of good games but i think for all concerned it would be best to hand him back to leeds now. I think he is probably surplus to requirements there as well if i'm honest.

Got to be honest but from what I've seen of him 50 million is fine. More bothered about the talk of resigning dele Ali.

Ed replying to your cahill comparison to alcaraz. Was literally saying the same thing to my dad yesterday! Very similar in stature and both good at assisting. Both seem to have a nack at timing there runs into the box and finally after the goal at Newcastle both good spring and great in the air!

Witty41

{Ed025's Note - yeah Witty thats why he reminded me of him, even if hes only half as good as Tim mate we would have a bargain..

Keane as a centre back is one of the worst players I have seen the club sign. He does chip in with the odd goal but apart from this he is as dreadful as holgate.

Re douc I think to label him a dreadful footballer is a bit strong? His best days are behind him and where probably at Watford. Reality for me is he has been a decent player and it's time for him to move on now. I certainly wish him all the best.
