Saw this on Reddit. Don't know if there's any truth in it but if there is it's no wonder nobody wants to buy us as a club. Spiralling costs with debts and loans and possibly this too.
Uzbek oligarch Alisher Usmanov has taken legal action against a company owned by Everton owner Farhad Moshiri, creating a complicating factor in the club's already difficult takeover process. Usmanov, 70, is the founder of the global conglomerate USM, whose companies provided sponsorship to Everton worth some £12m each year, as well as purchasing a first naming rights option on the club's new stadium worth £30m.
However, that funding stopped in March 2022 when Usmanov was sanctioned by the United States European Union, and United Kingdom following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, with Usmanov described by the EU as a "pro-Kremlin oligarch with particularly close ties to Russian president Vladimir Putin". Moshiri made his money as the CEO of a number of Usmanov's companies, including becoming chairman of USM Holdings in 2013, a role which he resigned once Usmanov was sanctioned. Documents filed at Moscow's Arbitration Court in September 2023, and seen by The Athletic, list Somelior Holdings Limited, a Cypriot-registered company owned wholly by Moshiri, as one of six defendants in a case brought by Usmanov and USM Holdings. Somelior Holdings previously held a 10 percent stake in USM, which had gone down to five per cent prior to the sanctions. According to the documents, Judge A. N. Petrukhina approved a motion to hold the hearing behind closed doors owing to "the presence of trade secrets in the documents to be examined", which had "been established by the court". Moshiri first invested in Everton in 2016 (Michael Regan/ Getty Images) Over the course of the Everton sale process, it is understood that multiple Everton bidders have become aware of the existence of this case. One concern for bidders, which at least one group ha discussed, is whether any payment to Moshiri is at risk of breaking sanction laws if the purchase money is used to pay damages to Usmanov - though one source close to Moshiri with knowledge of the case insists that UK laws and regulations would prevent him from paying damages. This legal case being held behind closed doors, as well as the opacity of the judicial system in Russia, means it is difficult for prospective owners to know whether any resolution in the case had been reached. The Athletic approached both representatives for Moshiri and Usmanov for comment. No response was received from Usmanov. A spokesperson for Moshiri declined to formally comment, but said that the court action was complete.

Yeah just been reading it, wonder if it will impact on the. proposed takeover.
2.) 10 Sep 2024 20:23:49
Since the legal proceedings are in Russia I see no reason to worry!
3.) 10 Sep 2024 20:35:07
From what I have read he is taking action against Moshiri not Everton. Therefore it really has nothing to do with the sale of the club.

Fabrizio Romano tweeted.
"Genoa are considering move for Ben Godfrey from Everton — could be an option via 777 connection.
Discussions taking place but there are more clubs interested in Godfrey. "
Then he's also tweeted this follow up.
"More on Ben Godfrey. Deal with Genoa not easy despite interest and direct talks as there are more clubs in the race.
EFC believe there are better proposals incoming for Godfrey in the next days…"
Possibly losing Godfrey and Doucoure? We'll have to wait and see what happens.

Need to make sure we have players lined up to replace them otherwise we’ll be wheeling out the catering staff if we have any more injuries.
2.) 28 Jan 2024 23:31:10
Could they have BEAN any worse than yesterday.
3.) 31 Jan 2024 08:14:31
Personally I wouldn't get rid of Godfrey. Can play anywhere in the back line and I think he is a better RB than Patterson.

Over the last few days I've seen Rayan Cherki (Lyon) and Angel Gomes (Lille but would be a free agent in the summer) both linked. I think it's nonsense personally but Cherki out of those 2 I'd be more interested in.
1.) 22 May 2025 10:14:45
Both would significantly improve us.
Both will have lots of offers.
Unlikely we’ll end up with them, but refreshing to see decent players being linked to us.
2.) 22 May 2025 11:25:29
The two would improve us that drastically that if we got both, I wouldn't be surprised if we were challenging for Europe, due to our base being up there with the best in the league already, at least from a defensive perspective.
As good rightly said, I can't see us getting either but if we did, fantastic.
3.) 22 May 2025 12:21:52
Money talks, so we probably have little chance.

It would have been a travesty if we had lost the game after a good spirited performance like that. Especially being the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park. The fans were immense throughout.
Credit to Liverpool for not really doing a lot but still managing to score 2 goals. I think we frustrated them greatly and we were up for the fight. Beto scoring from a well timed run from the free kick. Tarkowski smashing home the equaliser even though VAR took an absolute age to give it. They'd have had a riot on their hands if that was disallowed. I think a point overall was the very least we deserved out of the game. Every player put in a shift tonight and as a fan that's all I can ask of them. The "Moyesiah" has already made a massive impact on our results, long may it continue.
The cards at the end sort of spoiling the moment but emotions and tempers running high I suppose.

It’s truly looking like The Second Coming!

Sent it too early oops!
And Manchester City. Our goal difference is going to take an absolute hammering. I think at this rate we will be in the bottom 3 at Christmas and only have ourselves to blame. Fed up of the managers excuses and the crap we get to watch yet nothing changes. This takeover can't come soon enough because the Friedkin Group need to sort this mess out.

We play dreadful football and are the worst team in the league to watch. Mistakes galore today and if you keep gifting the opposition opportunities like that then you'll inevitably lose. We did ok for about 30 minutes then capitulated.
Dyche waits until the 67th minute and for us to be 4-0 down before he makes a substitution. Our tactics are an utter joke. The man hasn't got a clue. Our run of games coming up and I can't see us getting any points. Wolves up next will probably beat us because at least they can score goals. Then come Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea.
1.) 01 Dec 2024 19:15:08
Said he made the changes to rest players for games coming up. He had already given up the game, so does he make changes and say have a go? No. The most negative manager in the league.

I have to be honest, I thought we deserved nothing out of the game. We were awful. First half there wasn't even a glimmer of hope so I thought we'd come out in the second half with a bit more effort. We didn't and we arguably worse in the second half.
For Iwobi's goal everyone seemed to just ball watch apart from Ashley Young who was the only to attempt a slide tackle on Smith Rowe. We did not test Leno in Fulham's goal hardly all game. Our best player for me was Gana Gueye, worked his socks off. Young has had a lot of criticism and I'm guilty myself but lately he's been a solid choice. Probably Ndiaye's quietest game but he was trying. To summarise the performance, a lot of players just weren't upto to it. Harrison put in one of the worst performances I've ever seen in an Everton shirt and still managed to last 68 minutes.
The Dyche hoofball is horrendous to watch as a fan and probably even worse to be involved in as a player. Goodison grew more frustrated as the game went on because everyone is fed up of watching it being hoofed long, hoping for it to find a player and basically end up just giving possession away. Sitting back at home waiting to counter as well just puts the fans on edge but Dyche knows best. He hasn't got a clue.
1.) 28 Oct 2024 08:44:55
Howiee it’s like watching kids football. We lose the ball and everyone runs back to the halfway line, we get the ball and we blast it down the pitch as far away from our goal as possible.
Kick off second half summed it up for me. Straight back to the keeper to launch it up the pitch. I cannot believe for one minute that the players enjoy playing this way, it’s soul destroying.
2.) 28 Oct 2024 16:51:47
Looked like a pub team. Which is a massive negative for Fulham. Somehow they didn't really threaten to score more even though everything they did looked far slicker and organised. It's a case that the solution really should have been Keeping Bobby Martz and recruiting Big Sam and Dino Dyche as defensive coaches because they ain't got a clue past the halfway line. Those 3 would have won us the CL twice by now.
3.) 29 Oct 2024 20:37:12
Not sure FBS. Dyche and Alladyche both would have missed out Martinez’s midfield build up so it would have been a disaster. Just wish we had someone who could have sured up the defence under Martinez and who knows where we would be now.

16th Vs 17th in the table and didn't it look like it too. A bloody awful game to watch in my opinion.
Congratulations to Spurs they stuck to their game plan and saw it out, just about. With now being in the Champions League they will attract much better players to improve their squad. Spurs fans are elated currently but it merely papers over the cracks as they surely can't be happy with 21 league defeats (could yet be 22) .
Manchester United are totally lost under Ruben Amorim and a shadow of the club they were.
What a terrible advert for the Premier League with the footballing standard mind.
At least we're set for a 13th place finish whatever happens.

It's been a long time coming. I just hope we get the next appointment right. Don't know who is in the frame but they need to hit the ground running. We simply cannot afford to keep dropping points and we need to start scoring goals.
Sean Dyche kept us up and I'm thankful for that. That's the only plaudit I'm going to give. Our play style, lack of attacking prowess, team selection and tactics have been absolutely bloody awful to watch.
Good luck to Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman for stepping in for now.

Still can't believe it myself. We haven't scored 4 since 2020 I think the commentators said. It's nice to be on the end of a win for once. Hard games coming up but hopefully this will give us some much needed confidence. I'll be happy until Saturday at least.

Although the defensive partnership of Tarkowski and Branthwaite were really good for us last season we have to look at the facts for this season. Branthwaite has been injured and it's affected us. It's as you say with regards to Tarkowski. He hasn't been himself although he is supposedly carrying a back injury. Keane although he puts me on edge has been the better of the two. Mykolenko and Young have also been decent.

From January he is able to negotiate a pre contract agreement with other clubs so we'll end up with nothing for Calvert-Lewin.
Anyone who doesn't want to be here should be shown the door anyway. One good season under Ancelotti is what he will be remembered for. Apart from that his goal numbers are bloody awful.
