Oh for a Richy.
01 Oct 2025 09:01:19
Apparently he's a LW GB.
01 Oct 2025 09:23:56
Plenty on here didn’t want him back, which I never understood. Crying out for his tenacity up top.
01 Oct 2025 11:37:41
Just what we are missing JB mate.
01 Oct 2025 11:50:22
Things are that bad, that I’d even settle for some hold up play.
Surely Alcaraz, Keane or even McNeil could do better as a CF.
01 Oct 2025 12:56:37
Just a shame we let him go.
01 Oct 2025 13:43:12
Always injured apparently JB. Nothing to at all to do with the mad Aussies methods and the whole squad being affected by them.
01 Oct 2025 15:23:29
Don't need hold up play, it just bounces off him (Beto) . What is needed is Moyes/ Coaches to tell him to stay in the box.
01 Oct 2025 15:25:15
One of the hardest working players we had, yet castigated as a diver in comments.
01 Oct 2025 20:01:05
Oh he dived a bit, he’s Brazilian.
01 Oct 2025 22:50:30
Villareal shifted Barry to us and got Mikautadze in to replace him at half the price. Mental.
02 Oct 2025 13:01:50
Anyone fancy Mitrovic for a season. Can score goals and is an absolute rubbishhouse up top which is what we need.
02 Oct 2025 15:40:06
Why are people still under the illusion he wanted to come back?
03 Oct 2025 08:51:53
I think people are just saying he’d improve us, don’t expect him to come back.

{Ed's Note - Rewz has posted a new article entitled, The Next Manchester United Manager Faces A Massive Task
30 Sep 2025 19:56:31
So i'm just a little confused here. Being told we are buying players for the future, which is all well and good, and forward thinking.
But currently we need players for the present right now, it is clear what positions we are lacking in right now, and it's a bit concerning that this wasn't dealt with first.
Club need to get on top of this as soon as possible otherwise we might not have much of a future for those players.
Fantastic ground with an average team. Strengthen in two or three positions and we could become a very good side.
Maybe that is where the focus should have been, we shall see.
30 Sep 2025 20:07:25
I think we have a pretty good Team now, just need another couple of players who can go straight in and make that difference.
30 Sep 2025 21:05:34
We need a first choice right back, left back and striker.
{Ed025's Note - and you have to question why Swan, its because we have bought potential instead of the finished article which is a massive error imo, when your team is built you buy for the future...not in the building stage..
30 Sep 2025 23:03:24
That’s true but you have to look at what options are actually out there we could afford. I am a massive fan of Dibling but when a first choice right back was more important I do wonder why. In terms of left back, Mykolenko can be okay but he’s not good enough going forward. Upfront is where I think there are a huge lack of options, I know people have mentioned Vardy and Martial, which is just mind boggling, but who else was there? We wanted Delap but he wanted to warm Chelsea’s bench instead.
I think Ivan Toney would be ideal, he’s made his money, we could do with him, he’s not extremely injury prone or finished as a footballer.
01 Oct 2025 07:23:29
If we had bought someone who could score, I don’t think anyone would be questioning the other purchases as much. That’s the crux of it for me.
We are still better off in the table than we were last year. Things may continue, things may get worse or things may get better if one of our strikers learns how to find the back of the net.
01 Oct 2025 09:25:23
Agree with most, but think the comments about Myk are a little misplaced. A right back was a must. A DM as cover for Guaye should also have been a priority.
01 Oct 2025 17:38:28
When we were buying 'for the now' loads moaned we were spending on players with less or no sell on value. And were saying we need young hungry players which we can develop and if they leave, then it's for a decent fee hopefully.
Now folks moaning again and want players for the right now again, after 1 very good summer transfer window. How many experienced strikers are available? How many of them want to join us? How much will they cost? £50m +?
Yeah we still need to improve in 2-3 positions and it's very likely we will.
04 Oct 2025 10:07:18
Didn’t Beto and Barry cost a combined 50m+?
Before supporters wanted young “hungry” (still not sure what that means) players. But this club is now a different animal and the new owners will expect a lot more from the club than what has come before.
They may not be prepared to just sit and wait.
30 Sep 2025 16:09:13
What are your views on Beto and Barry? Do you think they are any good? Not really seen them mentioned on here much.
30 Sep 2025 16:30:36
Funny but I do find the Barry thing really weird, has he been great? No, but he’d barely played and people have already decided he’s a diet version of Niasse.
Start him, give him a run of games and actually see what he can do. New league and he’s being switched out and expected to win us games off the bench when everyone (including the manager) said he’s not ready. Villareal fans said he’s not ready. He’s not ready and our fans act shocked that he’s not ready.
But this is a fanbase that was calling for Jelavic to start ahead of Lukaku at points because “he’s got a bad first touch and he’s lazy and that”.
30 Sep 2025 18:09:07
Any idea when he might be ready?
30 Sep 2025 19:16:13
No, that’s for the manager to decide.
30 Sep 2025 19:23:12
Villareal fans said he was raw and we overpaid for him.
Ekitike is a few months older than him and has played the same amount of football, yet look at what he is doing. Doesn't look like he has needed time to adjust to a new league.
Nobody is asking for Barry to be scoring goals every game but he has shown absolutely zero ability in any aspect of the game.
As for the Jelavic shout, he literally played 9 games in the season that Lukaku joined us on loan and then went to Hull. Lukaku's all-round play may have been unpolished but nobody would deny that he was an out an out goal scorer. Comparing Barry to Lukaku is actually hilarious.
30 Sep 2025 19:53:02
Who mentioned Niasse?
30 Sep 2025 20:05:15
I’m not comparing the 2, I’m saying our fans seem to have an issue with ungainly players. Lukaku, Mina, both called garbage numerous times by our fans.
Ekiteke is better than Barry and playing in a better team. It’s also not always just age related, it can be coaching related too.
30 Sep 2025 12:24:42
Well I think it's fair to say now that Moyes' honeymoon period is over at Everton as we are seeing familiar failings from the team under him as like what we saw before when he was in charge, but for me he needs for time as I still think he's the right man for us at this stage. I also find it incredibly worrying when we as fans can see from outside what the obvious problems we're going to be this season going forwards in regards to the lack of an accomplished striker desperately needed and the board did not do their job properly in regards to the recruitment in this area. Barry looks massively out of his depth and Beto not a lot better. for me, I think we now have nothing to lose by putting someone else up front and mayb bringing Alcaraz or Dibling off the bench to fill in the void. I think Ndiaye could do a job up front until January, at least he can finish when given the chances! Let's face it, this wouldn't be any worse than we've got up front right now so I say to Moyes let's change it around a bit.
30 Sep 2025 13:53:48
We recruited Dibling, Barry, Aznou and Rohl who collectively have added little so far for various reasons including, too young, not ready, injured. While being enthusiastic about recruiting for the future the urgent need was for a proven, premiership experience striker and a right full-back, needs that have been apparent for a long time. Obviously it is not easy to recruit suitable candidates for these positions but the fact that we did not is simply a failure and we will stumble along in mid-table until we do.
{Ed025's Note - my problem with some of our purchases Mike is that they are considered for the future...what about the here and now??, its ok to look to the future when you are established as a top half regular but we are not in that position just now mate, some of our buys have been baffling to say the least, like Barry who i see has more of a future at McDonalds than as a professional footballer, we needed a right back as a matter of urgency yet bought a kid who they are saying is not ready yet...then why buy him ffs, our buyers and scouts need raffling imo..
30 Sep 2025 15:00:00
9th results in 2 3rds of games. Fans are morons.
30 Sep 2025 15:12:40
Grealish, Ndiaye and KDH started our first games in positions to score. Supply seems to be the priority now but failing miserably because Beto and Barry seem devoid of ability and confidence. With those 3, there is no need for Beto or Barry to play with their back to goal, just make their runs coming onto the ball. As for Moyes I will take consistent top 10/ 8 but I suspect it will take a while.
30 Sep 2025 16:45:55
The only moron around here is you FBS, you sound like a 15 year old, I don't normally respond to trash talk but you are the best at it.
30 Sep 2025 12:21:51
Once again Beto absolutely ineffective first half and as for Barry did he actually touch the ball in the second half both need to go into the under 21s for as long as possible and Ndiaye move to the front we are losing points hand over fist just change it even if Braiden Graham some playing time can't carry on with the 2 Bs itc costing us big time.
30 Sep 2025 16:26:31
Struggle to see how Barry gets criticism last night, came on, got no service and was still more effective than Beto.
As for starting Graham, he’s a kid who is not ready for the premier league, he will be ruined if he starts games. But this is a constant with our fans again, “throw the kids in! ”, heard it with Cannon, Simms, McAleny, Duffus, Henen and Long. In the end none of them were or are premier league quality or ever will be.
30 Sep 2025 18:11:02
Funny that a certain Rooney started at 16 did it ruin him, of course it bloody didn’t what a load of codswallop mate.
30 Sep 2025 18:44:09
Like it or not Beto and Barry are our first choice strikers. Barry is a work in progress, very young new league/ country etc. you don't get to be a French U21 striker by being rubbish.
That said they are not scoring. Ndiaye as a different 9 option is a decent option. Dibbling and Alcaraz can come in.
I'd even consider Alcaraz up top to see how he does.
Rb, if Rohl can get fit i'd move Garner there.
30 Sep 2025 19:12:12
Agree Bunkbeds they are what we have but we can change it with Ndiaye Dibling or Alcaraz as you say mate put Barry in the under 21s for a bit.
30 Sep 2025 19:15:50
So your example is a freak talent who is arguably the greatest English player of all time? So your 1 example beats all the countless others? Okay.
Louis Saha was a great French striker we signed. Thierno Barry is French, therefore he will be great too. Thank you.
30 Sep 2025 19:45:22
Not at all freak, also that young lad 17 yr old didn’t he score Liverpools winner a couple of weeks ago oh yes another freak, not having that it’s just rubbish thankyou.
30 Sep 2025 20:08:32
Macheda scored a winner at 17 for Man United, he went on to be a league 1 player at best.
Not all teenage players are the same, both in terms of quality and maturity.
So your solutions to our striker problems have been:
A 17 year old who has never played professional football at any decent level and Dan James, a winger notorious for having no end product.
Genius.
30 Sep 2025 20:23:21
Not at all one of many on here that have been mentioned just saying some make it and a lot don’t.
01 Oct 2025 17:54:43
Braiden’s also best in the number 10 roll. Throwing him up front would be a lot of pressure for the young lad, with that being said I still see him being involved with the first team before the season’s out. He’s a gifted player. I think a big difference between him and Rooney is that Wayne was built like a 30 year old at that age where as Braiden’s fairly lightweight.
Can’t wait to see more of the kid though, it won’t be long.
Beto’s had a couple of bad games (including the last) but is clearly the best we have, at least till January anyway.
We all knew we needed a right back and a striker in the summer but we all also knew everything wasn’t going to be done in one window. We done a lot of business and we are better than last season.
I’d rather be watching this team than last seasons.
3 points on Sunday and don’t settle for anything less
COYB ??.
30 Sep 2025 12:03:40
So another 2 points lost and not for the first time. Yet again the same failings from both the players and the management. We can't continue with Beto and Barry Chuckle up front as it will continue to cost us points.
I think the way forward until we can get a proper striker in January is to move Ndiaye into a central role, with Dibling on the right and obviously Grealish on the left with KDH behind them. As we now have some decent footballers we should keep the ball on the floor and play it into feet. I really don't see the point in hoofing the ball up the pitch only for us to lose possession and give the opposition the opportunity to punish us.
We can't persist as we are, as all momentum will be lost. The option is there within the squad to make positive changes until matters can be addressed in January but I'm not sure I have the confidence in Moyes to do so and feel that he may continue with his policy of rotating the alleged strikers.
{Ed025's Note - spot on for me Shropshire mate..
30 Sep 2025 13:43:09
Well said Shropshie but I doubt our scouts would recognise a proper striker if he bit them in thecarse.
30 Sep 2025 14:33:11
" we can get a proper striker in January" how many years have we said that mate?
30 Sep 2025 11:26:44
The club made some great additions over the summer, but a proven goal scorer, and a right back, surely should have been priorities.
In a year, or so, Barry, might turn out to be a player, and the same might be said of other signings, but the need in not a good performer, in 18 months, the need is for right now.
Would give Beto 10 out of ten for effort, but 2 out of 10 for technical ability, and O'Brien has done a good job, as far as it goes, but he is a six foot five C/ back, and against a quick tricky winger he is always going to be found wanting. Thing is, if us the great unwashed can see these obvious weaknesses, then surly these problems must have been obvious to team of professional coaches, and should have taken as first prioritys.
30 Sep 2025 10:04:18
We may have brought in 9 players this summer but only 2 of them started last night. So it's hardly surprising we are getting what we've had for the last 6 years or so, 2 good performances 2 poor ones and half a dozen bang average ones mixed in with them. Also I reckon Gana's age is catching up with him now as he seems half a yard off it whereas in the past he was all over the man with the ball.
30 Sep 2025 09:11:47
It was a disappointing night last night. We should have come away with all three points but to be fair to West Ham, they had the better chances and should have grabbed the win.
I'm just going to keep banging on about it till we finally get one which hopefully, is in my lifetime, we need a right back.
O'Brien was shocking yesterday. Coming up against players with pace he looks like the CB he is but it also hinders the attacking play down the right hand side. I don't know what the problem is with getting one. I know the CEO mentioned if one was good enough we would have got one but that is pure BS.
Then the striker situation. You just can't play Beto. Lovely fella but he has no ball control at all and I don't think I've seen him win a headed challenge, ever. As for Barry, he held the ball and passed to others and won a couple of headers but he is not getting any service in the box at all. It took about 10 mins for him to get a touch. I don't think he's the answer at all but Beto is a complete liability
Finally Jack. Love seeing him play and he keeps the ball really well, draws fouls and does make chances. However, he needs to cross much earlier sometimes and realise he doesn't need to hold it as long as he does. If he mixed it up more and crossed from deep as well as getting to the line, then he'd be much more unpredictable. I just hope he stays motivated throughout the season and not get bored and frustrated.
Its still early in the season and plenty of games left. I still feel like we'll be 13th to 9th this season but we're still two more summer windows from being a decent team.
30 Sep 2025 10:30:59
The this is mate grealish has nobody he trusts to cross to imagine going from pinging balls in to halland to crossing balls into beto if say halland was playing last nite instead of beto he would of got a hat trick the 2ay west ham were so open at the back.
30 Sep 2025 15:14:05
Why is it BS?
30 Sep 2025 18:10:54
Because we've been after a right back for 3 years and you can't tell me in a world of 7billion people there isn't one good enough to play RB for Everton!
I'm pretty sure this RB situation has been talked about in public before once or twice or may be it's just been in my head.
