Moyes needs replacing along with half that team if we want to ever win anything, if we want to stay in the league and beat utd or Chelsea once a year then he's our man, knickers is gonna get upset because its moysia and he's the 2nd coming but thanks Davey for the memories but I want a trophy.
20 Apr 2026 08:18:43
You're in dream land, relegation year after year. Now we are up the top end, lose to Liverpool, you want the manger gone. I have no words, but shouldn't write stuff when ur angry.
20 Apr 2026 10:00:49
When we have a sickener of a result like yesterday, I do try and leave any postings until the next day.
My view is we made a couple of silly mistakes and got punished. Other than that we played well and more than deserved at least a draw from the game.
Sack Moyes?! Come on now, that is crazy talk. Let's stick together, it's another bump in the road to far better days (which I believe are coming next season) .
{Ed025's Note - i thought we played ok Benny but nothing better than that, our midfield never really fired yesterday and afforded them far too much room imo mate, Jimmy has been great but i feel that was his worst game of the season and Dwight offered us nothing..
20 Apr 2026 10:09:02
Bigger picture, lads.
20 Apr 2026 11:29:54
What I have against Moyes is why bring Barry on, we go down to 10 men, why not try some of the kids instead??
21 Apr 2026 08:46:22
As hard as it is to win trophies, Moyes' record for the amount of opportunities is shocking. Is there worse out there? 100% there is. But can we truly expect him to bring us silverware?
No one of us liked the relegation stress and I'm currently enjoying seeing Spurs fans bricking themselves right now. So for that, Moyes deserves our gratitude and trust.
But if you want to celebrate a trophy, then any poster on here is entitled to ask for change. It's not unreasonable, and the teams that win stuff quickly adjust their staff to ensure they continue in that vane.
If he's here next season, two things are for certain. We won't go down and we won't win a trophy.
21 Apr 2026 13:30:10
Not unreasonable, but ridiculous, I think the word is. We should be offering him a new contract.
I actually like looking forward to the next game, thinking we have a shot of winning. Fans seem to forget the last few seasons very quickly. As for silverware, I personally believe DM has a very good shot at landing a trophy with us.
He won one at West Ham, and now look where they are. DM understands our club, which separates him to the majority of other managers out there. Sacking him would be a massive error of judgment, and it simply isn't going to happen, so fans should try and get used to it instead and start getting behind him like the rest of us.
21 Apr 2026 14:24:46
If you think he'll get you silverware, Dog Puke, then great. That's reasonable, as is the thought he might not. I hope you're right and I'm wrong, as I'm sure we want the same thing.
I just don't have the same faith in him that you do, but I'm sure grateful not to have the feelings I had from the previous few seasons. That I thank him for. but only that for now.
20 Apr 2026 00:24:11
Poor result that. Wasn't good scenes before game apparently as well. How poor is Liverpool away support by way didn't sing all game, honestly. Worst away support if ever seen.
19 Apr 2026 23:57:41
Every cloud has a silver lining, perhaps this result will keep Slot in the job next season.
We lost, but played well, and they were truly woeful, so long my he continue the job.
20 Apr 2026 10:41:46
I'd rather he gets kept in his job by beating United rather than us.
19 Apr 2026 23:33:51
I thought we were unlucky today and played well for long periods of the game, Liverpool were lucky and again had the ref to thank…We’re never ready for Champions League football but we’re only still just 1 point off the other European places so let’s not all get too disheartened after today as many fans before the season start would never of thought we’d be where we are in the league right now then…We have to make sure we come back strongly in our next game against the Hammers to keep us in contention for Europe, it’s still very much on for me.
20 Apr 2026 08:19:36
Well said.
19 Apr 2026 21:16:47
As soon as that goal got chalked off today, after the chances we had and how on top we were, you just knew what was coming. McNeil giving that ball away was absolutely criminal. Mykolenko leaving Salah with 5/10 yards of space, was even more criminal. Some may say that we had the ball, so the fullbacks should be high but when you factor in what he is as a fullback, in terms of attacking intent, it makes that point completely redundant.
McNeil is the main culprit for that goal but the fact Mykolenko left their most dangerous player in acres, is absolutely criminal for me.
JB looks like his hamstring was ripped off the bone. Hopefully it isn't as bad as it looks and he doesn't miss preseason. Sounds silly to say but I think if he doesn't go off, we don't concede the 2nd.
Tarkowski needs replacing as clear as day. He is 34 soon and is not getting any better. I am fully aware that the lad puts his body on the line and gets in blocks and clearances etc but he is nowhere near good enough if we want to progress. Too often does he jog around and point the fingers at others.
Nowhere near captain material for me.
Two fullbacks are needed in this window to revitalise this side.
Gueye closer to 40 than 30. Whilst I would not be against him being offered another contract, we definitely need a new 6 in there with youth and enthusiasm.
Ndiaye was terribly unlucky to have that goal taken away from him today. No complaints with the lad. Phenomenal footballer. Fingers crossed he stays.
McNeil should be nowhere near the starting lineup. If I was Dibling and he was starting ahead of me, I would be getting my agent to sort out a move asap.
Beto, tried his b******* off today. I don't think we lose that game if he stays on the pitch. Barry is an absolute mard a*** and today showed where his allegiance lies - get him sold asap.
We may not make CL this season, which all things considered is a huge disappointment but if we get recruitment right this summer and bring in 4/5 quality signings, next season will look a whole lot brighter.
2 fullbacks, CDM, Winger, AM and Striker and we have a great chance at cracking the powers that be.
19 Apr 2026 22:10:37
Bn, ur spot on, except your Tarks diss.
19 Apr 2026 22:25:02
I know a lot rate him, Pig, but I think the blocks and clearances mask the inept defending for me. Too often is he caught out of position and treading in treacle, trying to get back into position.
One of the most overrated defenders in the PL for me, bud. I know I will be in the minority with that opinion but I just can't see the fuss.
19 Apr 2026 23:14:24
I'm not a big fan of Mykolenko, but that goal was down to McNeil passing it to their player. We are always asking for our backs to push up. We had the ball in a good position. McNeil could easily have turned and played it forward, but as usual he chose the easy option and went back.
Only this time he gave it straight to their player, who wasted no time in laying a perfect pass to Salah.
Blaming Mykolenko is too simple, I mean, where were the two centre backs? Either of them could have cut out the pass had they been there.
Fact is, they were all caught out due to that awful pass.
20 Apr 2026 00:36:41
Good post. I think we already have Tarks replacement in O'Brien, like you said. Sign two proper full backs and Tarks and Keane can be backs ups for O'Brien and Branthwaite.
19 Apr 2026 20:36:06
Forget today. Look at the price in squads and they should beat us hands down, but I think they would of been happy with a draw, but the jammy feckers get the win. Gutted. And how did Salah get Mom? Anyway West Ham up nxt and they are gonna be fighting with everything for a win.
Seems like all the teams from around 12 to 6th don't want Europe; none of us can get a run going. If Beto is out I would try George up top to Barry. I know he wasn't great wen coming on today but least he can control a ball and McNeil can sit up in the stands for me. Give dibling a run for me.
19 Apr 2026 21:08:11
Agree, wtf Salah motm?
Curtis Jones was their best player, but standout performer on pitch was KDH by a country mile IMO.
Beto was also vg today, but as soon as he left the pitch we were impotent.
Barry needs to be moved on. He didn't look great early season, but after the shenanigans with his mates, he looks more disinterested and can't be arsed than ever.
To be fair, I thought Jones played very well for them at full back, and it was his strong run that eventually led to them winning the corner that won them the game.
19 Apr 2026 20:14:24
New poster, first time etc. Loads of you have summed it up perfectly. We bring Barry on with 20 to go, never going to win us the game, can hardly run, no ball control, no physicality, no threat, says it all, we really really really really need a quality striker. In contrast the reds spent nearly half a billion pounds last summer. Feel very frustrated because we bossed them physically and technically for so long.
They were time wasting an£ moan8ng a5 th3 ref from minute 15. Need to remember we are So much better than the past 4 years, so much better in midfield and going forward, just need to try and find a couple of gems in the summer.
Thought we were really unlucky today and really hope JB is ok.
19 Apr 2026 21:09:49
Ref was totally inept!! First 25 mins, they kept wiping out players with immunity.
19 Apr 2026 19:54:30
We will finish the season 8th.
19 Apr 2026 23:31:01
I reckon 10-12th. It's too close in the middle to call it accurately.
20 Apr 2026 00:37:18
Would that get conference?
19 Apr 2026 19:17:19
Thought Gana was immense first half, but started to fade second half. We had Tim and Rohl on the bench, didn’t use either of them. In fact, out of the three we made, two were forced on us, and bringing Barry on when he is clearly not up to it was baffling.
As for the after match press conference, to say we lost to a team used to winning trophies and gave them a good run for their money.
What the heck does that mean?
If you always see yourself as second best then you will be second best. Sick of being the “well we had a go” team.
19 Apr 2026 19:41:57
Gana and a good few others seem unable to keep their fitness levels for 90 minutes, or, as the case today, 111 minutes. Surprised as you were that other subs went used today, can only assume DM thinks they are not what’s needed to win the game, mate.
19 Apr 2026 19:58:26
That's Moyes's go to comment after a defeat by a top 6 club, "we gave them a run for their money." I'm as bored with that as I am in losing to them.
19 Apr 2026 20:34:18
That is why, under Moyes, we will always be a mid-table team. Compared with previous seasons, that's fine for some, but not for me.
Beto is not the best, but bringing on Barry is baffling, to say the least, and presumably McNeil was playing instead of George because he is better defensively. So McNeil immediately presents them with the first goal opportunity. Neither of these players should be anywhere near the team.
When they got that corner you just knew that they would score and who would head it in.
That's what kills you as an Evertonian, and until we get a manager and a team that is capable of repeatedly reversing this trend, then we will have to put up with mid-table mediocrity.
I was hoping that Moyes would be the man to do it, but his words, tactics and substitutions indicate that he might not be that man.
Europe is still within our reach, but the season could have been so much better.
19 Apr 2026 20:49:39
Chris Sutton said last week on Football Focus if Everton had a decent center forward they would be a couple of places further up league. All the teams around us and above us have 1 or even 2 decent forwards.
Beto would not be a starter for me, yes he runs, yes he tries, I love the guy and wish he was decent, but we need better. And Barry can just go for me, can't stand him, get whatever we can for him.
19 Apr 2026 20:54:57
Word perfect there, Bmd. Word perfect.
19 Apr 2026 20:57:27
Maybe I am in the minority here, but for me McNeil and Kdh should have come off. As Bmd said, we had Tim and Rohl ready to come on. Move Jimmy into the 10. He is a better footballer than anyone in the team and people forget, he had arguably his best season in that position, albeit in the Championship.
Bring Tim or Rohl next to Idrissa.
No imagination to change the team. You see that with the same starting 11 week after week, even though McNeil was shocking away at Brentford.
19 Apr 2026 21:17:09
Moyes baffles me. Could see players were getting leggy, but mo changes. He has stabilised us, made us forget about relegation & seen us through the always difficult task of moving to a new ground. However, I think the Freidkins will be looking at other options come the summer. If they're going to invest to build a squad capable of challenging, then we need a manager who can change tactics & personel mid game.
Unfortunately, DM isn't that man.
On the upside, it's a lot nicer moaning about not qualifying for Europe over praying we get enough points to stay up.
NSNO UTFT.
19 Apr 2026 21:47:38
Thought Idrissa looked knackered as well, tbh, and what's happened to young Armstrong?
20 Apr 2026 00:39:11
Move Moyes upstairs and get the Bournemouth manager Iroalo, or however you spell it.
