No sense of humour on some social media. Someone said "why is Everton's stadium built on water". I replied "Easier to bring on subs." He didn't get it lol.
08 Mar 2026 06:34:12
Stop Jesus getting his feet wet.
08 Mar 2026 09:27:39
We only recruit players "who walk on water".
09 Mar 2026 20:32:15
Could have told them it was in case we were docked any more points..
07 Mar 2026 20:40:28
Wayne Rooney was a wonderful footballer but he is an awful, blathering, stuttering pundit. ?
08 Mar 2026 09:31:07
He was only a "wonderful footballer" when he played for us.
05 Mar 2026 16:26:59
Just shows how far DM has taken us from one point above relegation to the heady heights of 8 th place, when he came in almost all of us on here didn't want him with me included, what has happened since that day is nothing short of amazing, most thought we would bein the relegation battle all season but hey presto here we are in the top ten with many talking about maybe 5 th spot is possible, thats, some achievement as to where we are now, well chuffed with the progress.
05 Mar 2026 17:06:19
Have I said this before? I think Moyes is a fantastic manager, GB. ???
05 Mar 2026 17:38:42
Not fantastic, mate, simply the best. ???
05 Mar 2026 17:59:57
He's not fantastic or simply the best. At least from my point of view. Although you cannot argue with what he has done to accumulate the points we have.
But there is still plenty to critique, too: his late substitutions, playing players out of position when we have fit specialists who do fit, and the issue of mostly not performing in the first half and having to fight harder to make up for it in the second.
I didn't want him either, and there are times when I feel like he needs replacing, usually out of frustration after losing a completely winnable game. But we are safe and looking up, so I'm very relieved he's got us this far and deserves credit for that.
Good manager for sure.
05 Mar 2026 18:09:23
I don't think he's the best either, Toffee ace. I was just answering a stupid comment, mate, but he certainly deserves credit for where we are.
05 Mar 2026 19:06:40
Moyes has done what Moyes does. He has stabilised the club & has us safe, well before squeaky bum time.
If you want attacking, dynamic football, then Moyes probably isn't your man. If you want enough points to look at Europe, but frustrations along the way, then you can't beat him.
Personally, I'd give him another 2 year contract, a bigger squad & see what he can do.
UTFT NSNO IMWT.
05 Mar 2026 19:19:18
I am all for that, Welsh Trucker, mate, but until someone can do a better job than what Moyes is doing at the moment, mate, I will definitely stick with our present manager.
05 Mar 2026 19:54:32
Well, we have no idea who could do a better job; however, if anyone can do a better job, it's Moyes himself. Getting more points at home, getting some of the younger players ready and contributing sooner, better substitutions, improved recruiting, especially a right-back and striker, players who are ready to go into the starting eleven immediately.
05 Mar 2026 20:08:15
I'll go with that Bm, mate, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. We are in 8th place, which is brilliant with what he has.
05 Mar 2026 21:12:07
Sorry, chaps, I was joking in my post. ?
06 Mar 2026 07:00:35
It will always be broke until we win something, GB. Hopefully Moyes can do it.
06 Mar 2026 08:05:20
Some have very short memories on here. Yes, we are safe in the League, which makes a nice change to previous seasons. However, if it is silverware we are after, then both cup performances were shocking, and they were the only competitions likely to give us any chance of achieving that.
Yes, we have a chance of Europe.
The next three or four games will decide that. But, given that we are out of the cups, and are not in Europe, we have more breaks than most teams and so fitness should be an issue.
Moyes has done a good job in the League, but he gets no praise for the way we wimped out of the cups.
Good manager, but great?
06 Mar 2026 08:05:30
Still think there is room for improvement, GB. We've thrown away points at home against teams we should be beating, based on form or league position, or at least put in a good performance against. Be it lack of strikers, playing players out of position, tactics, or making subs late (basically what BM said) , we could certainly do better.
06 Mar 2026 12:01:54
Nowhere near as good as Tina.
06 Mar 2026 13:53:50
Defo BR, mate. Two new strikers this summer are an absolute yes from me and a couple at the back would be useful as well, mate.
06 Mar 2026 14:40:45
As many different people have said many times before, we desperately need a proper RB who can not only defend, but supplement the attack. If we are to progress further next season, we cannot continue to fill in with O'Brien and, sometimes, Garner.
06 Mar 2026 17:50:08
Garner at R/B is a waste. O'Brian is a c/B and has done a good job there, but a good player in that position was available in the window. If TFG have real ambition, then we should have had the same market support as given to Roma.
07 Mar 2026 09:52:39
How many Champions League spots do Italy get? Roma are 4th, I think. If we did manage to qualify for Europe, would Roma qualify instead of us if we were in the same European competition? ?
05 Mar 2026 09:38:58
Last few seasons have shown that 60 to 65 points would get you 7th or 8th place. So based on that we would need at least another 18 points to secure one of those places. Our home games are against Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City and Sunderland.
Our away games are against Arsenal, Brentford, Palace and Spurs.
So for a bit of fun tell me where people think we can get those 18 points we might need?
Got to say whoever set the games up gave us one hell of a home run there.
05 Mar 2026 12:24:24
Maybe 12 points, but we need to be positive every game.
05 Mar 2026 13:41:44
Another 7 or max 10.
05 Mar 2026 13:43:38
18 points from those games is gunna be tricky, eh.
Best I can realistically/hopefully see is 2 wins and a draw, both home and away. But that only makes 14.
Home
Wins against Chelsea and Sunderland, draw with them. Lose to City.
Away
Wins against Brentford and Palace, draw with Spurs. Lose to Arsenal.
However, that's a tough run in, we could easily lose 6 of those.
05 Mar 2026 13:48:27
I keep thinking that if there is something still to chase on the final day, and Spurs need something to stay up, we might end up sending them down.
I'm not gleeful about that or anything, but I have had a feeling on that one for a while.
05 Mar 2026 14:48:49
I'm gleeful. It starts to expose the myth about "Big Six".
05 Mar 2026 15:02:27
Well I know how I have felt during final day nerves, so hopefully they are relegated by then. ?
05 Mar 2026 15:36:49
Brassington, that is some serious schadenfreude you've got going on there! ?
And before anyone says anything, that is not a new German player we are trying to sign!
05 Mar 2026 20:43:26
We have also got West Ham away, which could be another 3 points easily.
Brentford, Palace, and Spurs are also places where 3 points could be achievable.
Not too optimistic on the home games, however.
06 Mar 2026 01:52:33
It'll be very funny if we helped send Spuds down, easily in my top 3 least favourite teams/clubs.
05 Mar 2026 07:40:54
What's everyone's thoughts on the Arsenal game.
I personally think we could get something out of this game., the pressure on them is stating to show, not scoring as many goals as they were, and being at home, only takes the crowd to get a bit nervous and I think it plays in to our hands, we are a big side and if we can keep them out at corners i'd like to think at a min we could take a draw, remember our away for is superb.
05 Mar 2026 10:01:41
Going to be a difficult game for both us and Arsenal. It could go either way, depending on our strategy. I would think that a draw is realistically the best we can hope for, but miracles do happen.
If we go all defensive to start the game, and they score first, I don't believe that we can recover. Attack them and score first, and we have a good chance, since they will be nervous and hopefully panic, and the crowd will not help them.
Dewsbury-Hall, Gardner, Branthwaite, Ndiaye, and Pickford all play blinders, none of the rest let us down, and Moyes uses substitutes at the right time, and we could sneak a 2-1 win.
05 Mar 2026 10:56:58
I 100% agree with what you've said, BM. Fingers crossed for a miracle.
05 Mar 2026 11:20:27
I don't think Mr Moyes has ever won away at Arsenal as a manager.
05 Mar 2026 11:41:07
He'd never won away to United either, with 11 men. With that being said, I'm hoping for a point.
05 Mar 2026 12:06:09
We have a very good chance of points from the Arsenal game. We were closely matched last game with them, and I reckon we get points from the game. Same with Chelsea; neither will relish playing us.
05 Mar 2026 13:45:41
You cannot attack Arsenal. They will destroy us. We do not have the players to create and sustain that sort of pressure. Our best chance is how we have been playing away.
05 Mar 2026 13:48:56
Depends on if we concede first in both games.

I know it's along shot, but would love to nick 5th place from the s. e.
04 Mar 2026 15:25:35
Get more points at home, always, and we could do it. We are second to Arsenal in away points, so if we had done as well at home we would be at 48 points, equal with Liverpool!
04 Mar 2026 16:12:26
Think next 4-5 games will decide our season - really hard fixtures.
Great game yesterday!
04 Mar 2026 23:17:06
Just play our games, see where it takes us.
05 Mar 2026 13:49:41
Don't think we have any chance of 5th mate.
04 Mar 2026 11:24:10
Wolves lad Tolu Arokodare, worth a look?
04 Mar 2026 17:26:35
They've got a few decent players, DMS.
04 Mar 2026 11:00:08
This season (every team) , corners and offsides has been a crap show from VAR. Needs properly (not lip service) looking at. Offside should be whole body, not a toe, finger (I would have probs with my ears and nose) . Corners like against United were/are easily solved if referees have guts, make it 5 a side thst woukd sort it. ?.
04 Mar 2026 15:03:49
Totally agree, Dms
My problem with VAR is where the offside lines are being drawn, specifically body shape.
In a "normal" offside decision, the defender often has his back to goal, meaning that he is more upright in stature.
The attacker is facing goal and leaning forward (like a sprinter out of the blocks) , so is much more inclined to have a nose, sleeve, shoulder, whatever, offside.
It really does need to give the attacker the slight advantage in some way. I'd start by drawing the lines where their feet are. I mean, it is called football!
04 Mar 2026 16:48:23
Simple: if it's a foul outside the box, then it's a foul inside the box. It would soon stop if they enforced this. As for offside, well, it should be advantage attacker.
04 Mar 2026 21:11:09
Corners are a mess in football, and it's entirely the fault of the officials because they'd sooner bottle it than own it. Yes, it's difficult to see who's really the offender when the grappling starts, but make a decision, for goodness sakes.
Even if it's wrong, VAR can step in and suggest a correction.
England truly has the worst refs, and they aren't getting any better. So, for now, corners are, and will continue to be, a mess, and the officials have made it that way!
