Potter has turned down Ajax. Obviously got something lined up for summer.
Us, Utd, England?.
1.) 08 Apr 2024 15:38:07
Not us not England. Why Ajax? He's got to get this next one right or he does untold damage to his career. Also he got £12m from Chelsea so he can keep the heating on a little longer. I wonder if Howe will get the bullet in summer ?.
2.) 08 Apr 2024 16:07:23
Won't be us FBS agree, tho England strong possibility if Southgate as touted goes to Utd.
Thought all along Howe goes this summer and obvious candidate for us and the England job.
Don't think we get either for now.
3.) 08 Apr 2024 16:53:20
Southgate to Utd makes me laugh. We are stuck with alladyche until his contract runs out.
4.) 08 Apr 2024 17:27:13
You know Potter has tasted the “ high life” and apart from becoming a multi millionaire (only football) , it didn’t turn out to well. He might just fancy the challenge if we stay in the Prem that is.
5.) 08 Apr 2024 18:26:36
He’ll find someone much more attractive than us at the moment. We are a mess. No one is wanting to touch us with a barge pole. We can’t get sponsors, players or even a buyer. It’s just crazy.
Potter will guide his time until someone else is promoted somewhere and he’ll take a job there. West Ham, Villa, Newcastle… he’ll take something like that.
Why come to a club where the owner is clueless and the new potential owners are disliked at their other clubs.
6.) 08 Apr 2024 19:34:52
Graham Potter’s been found out in England. I’d rather have Dyche.
{Ed025's Note - your right Peter, we wouldn,t want to play like the Brighton side of 2 years ago mate.. :)
7.) 09 Apr 2024 17:04:33
Is Howe genuinely under pressure? Sure I read he was an Everton fan, that might just be a lie though.
{Ed001's Note - he is and he is. Very much an Everton fan.}
8.) 10 Apr 2024 09:32:54
…. thing is Potter left 2 years ago and they were playing much the same, probably better. I’ve never understood the Potter fascination. With what we have at our disposal there’s no way we could play the same as Brighton 2 years ago anyway. I think Brightons set up behind the scenes is what we should be looking towards, not the ex manager that has been found out at this level (Chelsea)
{Ed002's Note - All of the staff left.}

The only good thing to come out of the game is it's evident WE NEED SOME NEW PLAYERS. Not the high tempo and intensity was expecting.
Friedkin needs back Moyes.
We lack creativity and pace massively up top, with no overlapping FB's, massively lack a spark, a Gordon, Richy or even a Iwobi to get us going and lift the crowd. Very worrying.
Please send Harrison back pronto.
{Ed025's Note - exactly Mocker..
1.) 15 Jan 2025 22:34:09
My sentiments exactly on the overlaps Mocker. How can we have two former fullbacks on the coaching staff and no overlapping?! I’m completely perplexed by that.
05 Jan 2025 15:57:39
Like most really am scratching my head to whom is out there,
Someone not seen mentioned is Phil Neville, obvious connection to us, got some managerial experience, apparently style of play is high tempo attacking, in work ATM with Portland Timbers, again clearly a American connection there too.
Know be a massive step up but seems tick a few boxes and with bainsy and Seamus here we could do worse.
One thing we all can agree on is Dyche needs gone, he knows it too and as much as his terrible style of play his arrogant smugness has loss any sympathy I have for him.
Friedkin has to act before Thursday we have a quick turn around of games 3 in 9 days and any new manager will need some backing and time in the window. please Friedkin put us out of our misery, pay him up even if it's the rumoured extra seasons pay, I am starting to believe Dyche wants sacked knowing full well he is quids in!
1.) 05 Jan 2025 18:34:35
Heard it all now he did a great job as an assistant at Valencia.
2.) 05 Jan 2025 21:25:53
Has he done a great job anywhere with a men's team?
04 Jan 2025 17:35:19
What your not changing, your choosing!
Over to you Friedkin. ?.

One manager to keep a eye on in next couple of seasons is Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin, they beat Rangers last night and he has played 16 winning 15 and 1 draw, completing against old firm very well ATM
Remember watching a piece on him on sky when he took over couple months ago and been watching their progress, 46 comes across very well and he took his previous club Elfsborg in Sweden from obscurity and established as a top 4 team there.
Now not saying he is ready and totally different kettle of fish is English premier league but one to see how develops moving forward, he could be obtainable in summer and young with past record of turning smaller clubs around to compete against the so called bigger boys, let's face it they was a guy who came down from Aberdeen nearly 40 years ago and turned around a under performing sleeping giant and he didn't do too bad did he. ????.
1.) 31 Oct 2024 13:20:07
Never heard anything about him Mocker mate but would much prefer someone like him than the regurgitated s*** names that normally do the rounds.
What style of play does he have?
2.) 31 Oct 2024 15:02:01
Not really too much of Aberdeen matches TBF Bluenose only highlights and what read about him, seems like quick passing tho doesn't apparently have a set style of play but is getting a lot of success from isolating wingers and fullbacks one on one and getting the ball in the box early, something we don't do but not sure ATM if right fit as our squad profile lacks pace in these areas and quality and probably bit early in his career to take the big jump, could see him going to one of the leading championship teams and building from there perhaps but the trajectory he is on think quite few eyes be on him both media and clubs, early days mind but 16 unbeaten albeit in Scotland is no mean fate especially competing against the Glasgow clubs. Like you I'd rather go on this kinda route rather then the usual names thrown out there, just a question of if he has a strong enough personality to take that next step. One to watch though moving forward to see how his career goes.
3.) 01 Nov 2024 07:19:34
Getting the ball in the box early? What is this sorcery?
4.) 01 Nov 2024 13:03:06
He took up a 'local' team to first division in Sweden that was really good achievement. They where no favorite but outsiders going up.
In Elfsborg he had a few very good season one where they pushed Malmoe in to the last match. Elfsborg have probaly half of their budget or even less. When he took over Elfsborg they where in reglation battle but the team was at least mid table level.
I still would want Rydstroem from Malmoe rather then Thelin. Rydstroem is something totaly diffrent to most trainers and play very diffrent then other teams. Yes right now it would not suit our team due lack of creativity.
5.) 01 Nov 2024 16:13:34
Thanks Swe_toffee, not heard of Rydstroem but will keep a eye out ?.
Reading from the Elfsborg fans they spoke highly of Thelin and same vibes coming out of Aberdeen currently, watched his interview on sky and seemed come across very well, also see today BBC sport have a article about him in depth. Be big task for both with us though be a interesting one for us to take, just hope Friedkin doesn't go down a "named" manager just for sake of it and has a long term plan and stragery for our club which I wouldn't be against the likes of Thelin or the Malmö guy given a chance to clean us out and rebuild the club, be ideal time looming.

Right so after the long running saga and debates of loans Ed002 as confirmed,
We ARE allowed 4 loans in but only 1 can be from the PL, 1 Can come from the championship or lower (these are deemed as the 2 domestic "
And we can have 2 from international.
Makes sense not Ed002 in regards Burnley last season and our constant links to loans. Much appreciated ?.

Let's hope our physios ain't cue-less GB and Dwight has a clear frame of mind.
24 Jan 2025 20:41:33
We just need to cushion the blow GB and give him the maximum break to rest whilst hopefully keeping our position.
24 Jan 2025 19:23:26
Foul and a miss ST. ????.
24 Jan 2025 11:07:52
I know who he is GB. Not Kirk is it! Hence the reply was justified you plonker. ??.
24 Jan 2025 09:21:56
Who?
Said other day GB, you really need stop believing all you read on NewsNow. This one doesn't even exist ????.
24 Jan 2025 16:05:08
Exactly Reg, the fee is key and fact can cover both FB roles. Reliable player, available and cheap.
24 Jan 2025 15:34:43
Like BlueNose states, the lad is 20 has looked very comfortable in the premiership and massive scope for improvement both as a player and any future transfer fee, all depends on potential fee involved, but he was been quoted at £70+ million when was only 18 and scoring.
Injuries are abit of a concern obviously but in terms of age and calibre of player he'd get my approval, though I do seriously doubt we will be in with a chance of getting unless he buys into fact he could realistically lead our great club for next decade and new stadium.
Do a again also a exciting pacy winger and creative no 10 would be great but these as a decent CF are few and far between especially with our limited budget and not being the summer window.
I like your thinking BlueNose on realistic targets, you mention a few names that I will be honest not aware of so gets me keeping a eye out for them, keep them coming mate, enjoy that and your input ?.
24 Jan 2025 11:57:43
Yep that would certainly suit me BlueNose ?
Love seeing Ferguson come but just can't see it, not sure what's gone on with him last couple seasons as was touted for mega money move to big guns, know been injured ABIT but with age on his side really could see him doing well for us.
KWP is a no brainer for me.
24 Jan 2025 09:46:01
Absolutely and who can blame them, Brighton are the best ran club in the Premier League currently and rival most clubs in Europe for a actual stable structure.
Excellent launch pad for any aspiring youngster especially when you actually look how diverse their squad is, very refreshing to see some players actual choosing a progressive career rather than wham bam I've made it let's go to one of top teams get paid big bucks and dwindle away.
Remember when Moses Caicedo turned Man Utd to join them, turned out very well for him hey, on a lesser note Ewan Ferguson plucked for Irish football at such a young age but most of top teams in premiership were eyeing him up - the usual cluster of German teams. You can flip in to other end of spectrum and use Danny Welbeck as a brilliant example, a player most thought was finished after Arsenal and Man U, goes there's and rejuvenates his career. Is it no wonder Minteh, O'Reilly and João Pedro wasn't interested in joining us if reports were to be believed. Brighton deserve a lot of credit from football fans imo, very refreshing just a pity that with the way football is geared up to benefit the elite a smaller team like them will always struggle to grow much further and gets the benefit of their fruits of labour.
24 Jan 2025 07:33:31
Let's be fair to Brighton GD, fantastic ran club, rightly getting the plaudits these last few season, diverse group of players, very easy on the eye attack minded set up. Players have turned down bigger and more appealing clubs than us over last few seasons to go there.
