Last season we finished in 13th with 48 points. We currently sit 11th with 47. Just how much have we actually improved?

I know we who turn up and pay, have only our experience, but some thing can be seen from where we sit.
In view of resent injuries, O'Brien was a natural c/back replacement. Aginst a quick and tricky winger, Garner was the oblivious right back choice. With a number of midfield options.
Givern the pathetic offering from Barry, their where a number of options.
None of they above would have guaranteed a win, but would have made it a reasonable possibility, and if we can see that, where is the judgment of those we pay well to make those calls?

Well that's it for me, not going to watch another game live this season, it just puts up my blood pressure. I will record it and maybe watch afterwards. City up next and I can't wait for the optimistic forecasts about how we will crush them.
Europe is out of the question so let's see some of the youngsters given a chance. Then I might watch them.

Spot on, Mike.

People on here will fancy us to beat City 2 0.

Said it last night and today’s performance proved my point. Barry and McNeil should be nowhere near the first team. Gana needs resting. Square pegs in round holes at the back. We can all see it. Why for the love of god can’t Moyes? These last 4 games is the perfect chance to blood certain players, give game time to fringe players and let them show what they can do.
We have Patterson and Aznou, especially Aznou who should be playing, but no square pegs round holes. Tim or Harrison can cover Gana, George and Dibling can replace Barry and cover McNeil. We are not going to qualify for Europe, but we are safe this year. Let’s try something new and who knows Moyes might get a surprise. Sorry Moyes lovers.

Disappointing but not surprising. Beto causes problems even though his control is lacking but without him. We are left with Barry who cannot lead a line. And looks out of his depth. McNeil should not have been starting before George. And sideways passing went on and on. Mykolenko is for me a championship level full back.
No guile. Ndiaye looks to have lost a bit of spark without another player like Grealish who can control the ball. Should have had a penalty but that is history. Europe not out of range but going to need some big results to get there. More enterprising in team selection to begin with.

I've always thought we need to give Barry sometime to bed in and get used to the League, but he is so far off it, even I think he can't stay next season.

I have not even thought about wanting to replace Moyes until today. But I feel the time is now right for him to go. He has cost us a potential 6 points in just the last 2 games. Playing McNeil still is crazy, as is opting for Barry today.
Yes, we are safe. Yes, safe is good from where we have recently been. But safe is not good for where we aspire to be. The time is now right.

Well I’m usually in the Moyes camp and respect the guy hugely, but everything that happened today was all his fault! His inability to try something different and give some of the youngsters a go is just shocking, to say the least! George should have started instead of McNeill, Barry again was hopeless and should not play another game for us this season - give his shirt to young Braiden … for GS, what do we have to lose by giving this young man a go? We’re now in no-man's land of mid-table and we should just give him a go! Moyes needs to change!

Two teams fighting relegation played at the same time today. Both Everton (safe) and Wolves (relegated) were obliged to put out their strongest sides. Everton have also to put out their strongest side against City (playing for the title) .
25 Apr 2026 19:00:04
So why didn't we put out our strongest side then?
25 Apr 2026 19:02:31
I doubt George will be rushing to sign for Everton Reserves in the summer.
25 Apr 2026 16:46:08
How's on God's earth was that not a pen?
25 Apr 2026 17:07:57
And not a corner.
25 Apr 2026 17:39:23
You need the luck of the gods to escape relegation sometimes. That was a completely clear assss penalty.
25 Apr 2026 19:44:21
It's the excuses given by those in charge that annoy so much. How can anybody come to that penalty decision and then attempt to justify it today? There is definitely an agenda now.
25 Apr 2026 16:41:19
Gone backwards again - Moyes needs to take the shackles off these players and give George / Dibling etc a run of games - so boring at times.
25 Apr 2026 17:03:41
It's been so obvious for months that we're not being relegated, and anyone with any sense has known we were never going to get Europe - he's just a coward, who would far rather play a player he knows will only give him a 5/10 performance, instead of risking someone potentially actually doing something.
