I see no one's mentioned the brace from our very own Thierry Henry.
05 May 2026 19:48:55
He could score 10 goals for me and I'm still done with him. Was offside for his 1st, and in the correct position to put Rohls' miss hit shot in for his 2nd. Fair play to him, but doesn't change my opinion on him not being good enough.
{Ed025's Note - im with you Ron..

Agree, RM mate.

Know it's now becoming an old chestnut, but surely the case against City must be delt with, without it being dragged into a point where it can be simply ignored, or large fine can be the basis of a behind the door deal with the City's wealthy owners and the disgraceful hypocits, corrupt Premier League.
A fine, however big, will be meaninglessness, City's owners just putting it down as the price of doing business.

Yet another penalty denied, it came up on the screen that they looked at it, how it wasn’t a foul for grabbing Merlin and dragging him to the ground compared to all the fouls City got for falling over near an Everton player beggars belief. I’m not a conspiracy theorist but those two denied penalties stinks especially compared to the ones give against us.
In general I was hoping for a draw against them with their quality but with being 3-1 up on 80 minutes it’s a sickner to then end up with a draw but you got the feeling that ref would have kept playing until they scored.
Anyway onwards and upwards

The biggest shame for me is that we totally switched off for the second goal. A through ball from kick-off should never make its way to the striker.
The ref couldn't wait to blow his whistle for them. A stronger character would have booked their players for acting. Pep thought we were over physical. I really don't think we were.
05 May 2026 11:49:38
Bunch of bloody cheats, certainly do not want that lot to win the league. Absolutely disgusting, we need refs to grow a pair and stop this.
05 May 2026 16:02:05
Can't stand Arsenal either. Both managers are p****s and so are their fans.
05 May 2026 18:35:40
If we hadn't made 2 or 3 pointless subs in injury time, Big C, the game would have been over. Couple of minutes added to the injury time thanks to another baffling decision.
06 May 2026 08:22:58
Agree, BN, if anything the subs should have been on after the third went in. Couple of the lads at that point were gassed.
05 May 2026 08:59:42
Poor finishing cost us tonight and it wasn't by the usual suspects. Our defence needs a complete overhaul for next season. Would love to see O'Brien and Branthwaite in the centre, but the lad has to stay fit.
Keane and Tarks should only be seen as back up to them. Then need two fullbacks if Aznou is deemed not good enough. And of course a striker is a must.
05 May 2026 09:23:16
Well, we certainly had our chances but then so did they. As you say, poor defending cost us in the end. Especially that second goal; had that not gone in, then momentum would have still been with us, and I firmly believe we would have gone on to win that game.

Three wins is very doable, lads. Good fixtures and teams around us faltering. Europe is still possible, and I believe the boys will be fired up. A tired Palace focused on Europe up next!
05 May 2026 08:43:36
Yet another very very late goal against us again.
05 May 2026 09:25:49
Can only see a maximum of three points out of these last games. Palace are still very good at home, and Spurs will be safe by then and want to finish the season with a win.
05 May 2026 01:40:50
Thought Tim and Merlin were absolutely fantastic tonight, especially Tim.
We all love him but Ndiaye let us down tonight imo. Finishing was poor and there were plenty of opportunities to play it to a man in space but he went for glory instead.
Played well tonight but absolutely criminal that we allowed them to score straight from kick off. We never learn.
05 May 2026 07:09:40
First half was a very poor one. We weren’t competitive and the second half, when we were, showed that. It’s a bit cheeky going in just a goal behind so I’ll take that. Second half was so much better.
It’s all too often we are not up for a game until the second half or when we go behind. The coaching team are struggling to affect change in this area, which will continue to be a concern and will continue to stunt our progress to a level where we can hope to win silverware.
Felt like a loss last night, against a top team means we can be really good. Just need it from the start before I’m convinced we can win anything under this coaching team.
{Ed025's Note - you are right Ace the two halves were night and day mate..
05 May 2026 10:30:18
Blue Nose, agree with all you say. Seeing Merlin in the first half, beating City players for pace on the right, something that's been lacking. Hope to see more of him in that position.
Tim, very good.
Correct on Ndiaye, wasted chance when he could have passed to a team mate.
Barry, I don't know what to say.
Everton's defence far better with Branthwaite playing. Not taking anything away from Keane, who is also playing well.
05 May 2026 11:15:15
Merlin looked very promising. Hope to see more of him before the season ends. Tim was great at closing down and tackling. Just needs to learn to pass to someone on his team. Some encouraging signs from our younger players though.
04 May 2026 23:31:58
Proud of them.
05 May 2026 00:24:10
Me too DMS!
05 May 2026 03:01:23
Great to see Tim & Merlin starting, both had fantastic games.
As usual though, a lack of concentration & seemingly poor decisions from officials cost us again.
It's been a transitional season & one I'm happy to have after the past few. A good summer window & hopefully we'll be competing for 5th next season.

Yet when Docu got the ball, I was shouting at the TV to block him because you could just see what was coming. But, all in all, as frustrating as it is, 3 games 3 late goals, Moyes will address that again as I'm sure he already has, but I'm happy we got a point and scored 3 goals against City, which I never imagined in my wildest dreams.
So on to the next one! coyb.
05 May 2026 08:49:46
Alright lads. Good effort by the boys, but have to say their second goal was very poor. Both central defenders switched off, and neither got anywhere near their striker from what was a very simple pass.
Think someone has already mentioned that we've now lost 4 points in our last three games due to conceding late goals, and I know many saying a draw against them is a great result but not when you're 3-1 up.
Even against teams like City at 3-1 up we have to manage the game better. Live and learn, I guess.
