Because City haven't been found guilty yet. 🤷♂️

We are still being linked with Liam Delap. I just kinda hope it's lazy journalism of the forwards we have been linked with and there have been a fair few. He is not one that particularly excited me, if I am being perfectly honest. What say my fellow Evertonians. 🤔
{Ed025's Note - he was very good in the championship TB for Ipswich but has been very underwhelming at Chelsea, again mate its how he would fit in to our kick and run system and i dont really see him as a target man..
25 Jun 2026 15:06:40
Delaps no better than Beto.
25 Jun 2026 15:58:26
Well, the rumour is Chelsea are looking for 40m. So they are trying to make 10m on a player who did absolutely nothing in the one season they had him. Loan with an option to buy but not at 40m.
25 Jun 2026 12:16:17
It's too hot to do transfers.
25 Jun 2026 14:47:54
On the contrary, all transfer speculation has gone cold.
25 Jun 2026 15:10:33
Badumcha.
25 Jun 2026 11:20:44
Gabriel Jesus' name is still being linked with our club. If I am honest, I would rather keep what we have than splash out good money 💰 on a transfer fee and high wages. Let's be forward thinking 🤔 for once and find a young gem or two that can grow with the club instead of another player approaching 30 years old.
25 Jun 2026 12:45:47
His price is now £20 million, too injury prone for me.
25 Jun 2026 12:48:42
If it was a like for like swap in terms of transfer fees, I'd take Jesus over either B or B personally.
25 Jun 2026 16:01:22
Can you imagine him chasing hoof balls. Sulky bugger at the best of times, he would say sod this, and after five minutes, he would feign an injury and spend the rest of the season on the bench. Letting some other fool chase shadows.
25 Jun 2026 09:20:32
Strange how the majority of average players seem to have a really good season in there final year of a contract and then go back to being average again once they have re signed or moved on. Or is it just me???
25 Jun 2026 11:55:56
No, it happens a lot, mate. Put the effort in, get the contract, then relax.

{Ed's Note - BlueNose1878 has posted a new article entitled, Why Promise David Could Suit Everton
25 Jun 2026 01:00:41
I am not sure if anyone watched the Villa v Freiburg final a month or so back but there was a young lad playing for them called Johan Manzambi. Very bright young player.
He predominantly plays as a CM or 10/Second striker.
He has only played 15 senior games for his country and was used often enough in the qualifiers and friendlies but it appears they didn't quite think he was ready for the WC by giving him 2 short cameos in the first 2 games of the WC. He turned it on and got 2 goals in the 2nd game in a 19 min spell. He got the nod tonight against Canada from the start and got an assist and scored the winning goal.
Wouldn't be available for cheap by any means but for how good he could be and only 20 years old (forget Moyes) , he is exactly the type of player we should be looking to sign.
Time to move away from the boring and predictable launch to the loan striker. We need to get bodies high and wide and the attacking mid up with the striker.
One can dream hey.
25 Jun 2026 07:50:25
I was having the same thoughts myself. He looks like a great prospect. Didn't Rohl use to play with him in Germany? Perhaps he can have a word.
{Ed025's Note - the thing is that a lot of these players mentioned would have to fit in to the Moyes philosophy and that wont be easy, its about running, not taking any chances and being able to bring a ball down from 100ft hoofs, its a tough ask imo..
25 Jun 2026 12:28:38
We've been monitoring him for a while (I think that means dithering) .
Should've put a bid in before the World Cup. Other clubs are obviously interested, so his price will only head in one direction.
Just accept the out of date £5 Argos voucher for Barry and get this done.
25 Jun 2026 12:22:31
Spot on there Ed mate.
24 Jun 2026 20:50:57
Like most on here I agree with the need to upgrade the RB position. I’ve seen lots of names mentioned who may be of interest, but I don’t see any of them being better than one individual already in the squad, who has played many times in that position and always excels.
That player is Jimmy Garner.
Of course this leaves a massive hole in our midfield, but perhaps spending the transfer budget on an international level CM may be the answer.
Thoughts?
{Ed025's Note - i get what you are saying Djs and he does very well there, but i imagine it would be cheaper to bring in a RB than a quality midfielder mate..
24 Jun 2026 21:06:53
Wouldn't disagree with that Ed, but I wouldn't mind us blowing £50m on a quality CM, rather than any of the unproven RB names I've seen mentioned. especially as Jimmy immediately gives us a massive upgrade in that position.
{Ed025's Note - he does Djs, but i dont know if jimmy would be happy with that mate?..
24 Jun 2026 22:33:52
Took the words out of my mouth Ed. He would move on to go play midfield sooner or later. He wants England.
{Ed025's Note - and who could blame him BN, players want to play at the highest level they can and im sure Jimmy would have a lot of suitors mate..
25 Jun 2026 07:48:23
Jimmy's quickest route into the England team is at RB. He's better than the current incumbent, Reece James, whereas in CM there is much more competition. In my opinion, of course.
Thanks for your 5houghts.
25 Jun 2026 16:32:40
Patterson has done well at rb for Scotland this tournament. Not his fault, Scotland are crap.
25 Jun 2026 20:04:58
Jimmy's quickest route into the England team is to for Real Madrid. 😂
24 Jun 2026 20:43:44
Watching the World Cup and strikers in particular it is obvious that most have to trap the ball or control it before shooting. ( I know we have Barry who can't even do that) . This gives the defender those few precious seconds need to block the shot.
On the other hand the great goal scorers like Messi hits it first time, in actual fact Messi doesn't shoot, he passes the ball into the net.
Now we need to identify the next Messi, or sit the two B's down every day in-front of a video recording of Messi.
{Ed025's Note - you can take horse to water but you cant make it drink Mike, those 2 are beyond the ability to change mate..they are both absolutely crap..
24 Jun 2026 20:57:00
Agreed Ed025, I just can't think of anything else to do to try to improve them. Maybe the club should try hypnosis!
{Ed025's Note - they have been in a trance since they got here Mike.. :)
24 Jun 2026 18:19:55
Harry Wilson Opts for Elland Road Over Everton. I can't say I am too concerned about this one. What say my fellow evertonians?
{Ed025's Note - i would have liked him as part of the squad TB, but i have to say im not his biggest fan mate, good highlight reels and a top dead ball specialist but his overall game not that impressive for me..
24 Jun 2026 18:29:27
4 year contract on big wages too. If he's chosen Leeds, it's for the money. Fair play to him.
24 Jun 2026 18:41:54
Missed that one if we were ever after him, just hope we get Bowen.
24 Jun 2026 20:15:04
I would be surprised if Bowen moves from London tbh.
25 Jun 2026 00:41:38
Seen we are linked with Bowen, 29, and Jesus, 29 again, very uninspiring. 2 players in the twilight of their respective careers, no doubt looking for a payday. Might be cobblers/lazy journalism anyway. I just wish we could unearth some gems. Someone like a Rayan or Semenyo.
25 Jun 2026 00:58:01
So, the new age for being in the twilight of a career has tumbled to 29 now, has it? Why do we get hung up on age? If a player is 29/30 but is a lot better than what we have, then what's the problem? For the record, I'd steer clear of Jesus, but Bowen, I'd take no danger.
25 Jun 2026 08:10:00
Think the problem, BP, is that these players want long contracts and big wages like Wilson. Now 29 isn't old, but it's still a gamble taking a player who will be a top earner well into his 30s.
As many have said before, we have been down this road before, and it nearly ruined us. And, people, please don't come back with, well, look at Messi and Ronaldo.
Those guys play on an entirely different level to anything we are looking at.
So, I guess the question is, do you want a player who can maybe give you two good seasons with no sell on value, or do you want a player who has potential to improve and either strengthen the team for the long term or even make the club a healthy profit if they move on?
25 Jun 2026 12:32:03
BB, people used to moan about players being bought at age of 31 or 32 and now it seems that 29 is too old? That's the part I don't get, mate.
I agree, it's senseless to pay a 33 year old silly wages on a long term deal.
But a player at 29 will bring experience, sometimes leadership, and if they improve the squad, then why discriminate? Baffles me, mate.
25 Jun 2026 13:32:00
Moyes has managed him before as well, just depends if his father-in-law will let him leave.
{Ed025's Note - and that could well be a sticking point Ron..
