Yet again we have the miserable and sugar on my toast usual out. The Season hasn't started, we have no idea of the transfer/recruitment plan. Many reading crap sites. There must be some wonderful ex-managers/coaches/players on here. I am off. COYB.

I think the problem with our club's hierarchy is that we chased some decent players and get linked to more by the media, which we can do nothing about. But when we do look for a player that could play for most clubs below the usual top four, we what a Nike garment but want to pay the price for Lonsdale. That's not gonna happen, and I believe even if we had European football to offer, the financial package offered to the selling club is so unattractive that they tend to turn it down.
Some other clubs in and around our level go all out to jump in and sign the player. I am afraid I can only see this trend continuing. I need the likes of GB and some of the other more positive Evertonians to enlighten me or give me another point of view.

While Roma are in the CL and outperforming us, they will be the owners' preferred club to put their money into. When Roma have completed their transfers for the summer, we will be left with the remainder of the budget to chase whichever of our targets are still available. I don't expect any incomings until the last week of August unless we sell N'daiye or Branthwaite.

Well bluepotatoe it may only have been a freindly but the attitude of Barry and McNeill are a major concern you can throw Alcaraz in there as well.We Had about 7 first team players outhere and non of them seem fit he has been last week and today playing people out of position and its all wrong everywere Bolton cut through us easily should have scored 3 from corners which like last season we can't defend boring slow build up and Beto as bad as Barry who the Echo gave 8 in there ratings don't know what game they went to it wasn't the same as me a 4 more likely poor passing no movement easily played around we have 3 weeks to kick off and if this Dickhead is has us set up and playing like this last seasons last 8 games results will continue he is clueless brought young Graham on and put him on the left wing the lads a striker who makes runs through and across the defence but the clueless one plays him there were in for a long tough season unless the Scottish FA come to the rescue or we sign a right back a forward and a centre midfielder Tim not good enough and Garner injured and Hackney not even played yet.

Alan, again, it's about 1 week (yes, 1 week) into preseason and you expect them to be pulling up trees? These games are about improving general fitness and getting match fitness up to the required levels, the performances will take care of themselves as the summer progresses.
The two teams we have played so far are a couple of weeks ahead of us in their preparations for their season. Stressing yourself out for no real reason at all mate.

Not stressing, Blue, being realistic. These teams we have played, Dundee never won a game until yesterday. The same Bolton team we played lost to Radcliffe Borough, yes that Champions League side. We have state of the art equipment for fitness, and we were outrun and out-fought by a team that will probably get relegated. They are nowhere near a couple of weeks ahead of us in preseason, it's their application of how to play around a rigid, lazy team.
I think these players think we're Premier League, let's just turn up. The next 4 will give you and me a proper perspective in how we see this crowd, but mark my words, Blue, Stoke, Stuttgart, Hamburg and Lille will find him out, and when Palace come first game we will be s***ting it because we have little or no recruitment in the pipeline for the positions we desperately need addressing.

We'll have to agree to disagree, Al. I think you're being a bit unrealistic with some points in all honesty as, again, it is very early in preseason.
Just a thought for those fans who aren't happy with certain aspects of how the club is run etc. I've received an email from the club today. I'm pretty sure a lot of you have had the same one.
Basically, it's an application to become part of the Fan's Forum for the next 3 years. Admittedly, it seems a lot of faffing around to apply, with no guarantees you will get the gig, but at least you would be speaking to the right people, those who can make a difference, with your reservations.

I watched it on TV. It was a poor game. Bolton seemed to play the ball around better than we did. McNeil was as bad as I've seen. We need a right back and a left back.
We have 1 left back who can defend, and 1 who can attack, but both can't do both. A right back is a must. Rohl is not a right back. We are missing players, but not many. Sorry, we need additions or we are going to struggle to score goals.

See some discussion about selling Ndiaye or keeping him. Some players are impossible to keep, Gordon being a prime example. You just get as much as you can and move on. I don't see Ndiaye being in that category, yet. He has just signed a long term contract and regardless of the paper crap I don't see him making too much of a fuss about leaving. Of course every player has a cash value but the problem is then using that cash wisely. The best thing we can do is keep him for next season and hopefully get into Europe and the see what happens then.
We need to keep our best players, the fact that we have been searching for years for a right-back shows that for a team like us it is not easy to recruit players who are better than the ones we already have even if you have the money. For those who will say that we did not have the money I would point out the amount we paid out for Barry and for Dibling and Aznou the last two just bench warmers last season.

Everton now have clear path to Lutsharel Geertruida signing after Sunderland latest.
Must admit never heard of this right back, apparently played last season fir Sunderland bluenose. Have you any info on him?

Lutsharel Geertruida played for Sunderland on loan last season from Leipzig and made 28 appearances. He had some good games and one especially good one against us.
He is naturally a right back, but can play centre back or defensive mid also. He has good defensive positioning and is rarely caught out. He is calm under pressure and keeps good composure. He is strong in duels, has good physical strength, and is also well disciplined.
But he doesn't have that attacking threat we all want from our fullbacks, and he got no goals and no assists for Sunderland last season. He is also a slow player, and would struggle when coming up against any explosive wingers. He has ok passing, but also rarely breaks the line with his passing, and can be quite conservative.
Leipzig would also want around EUR20m for him, which I think we could get a better player for.

I think Tim is more than capable of doing his job, still only 23 and getting better and better, we also have Harrison. I'm hoping he either gets a loan or plays a big part.
Be interesting to see if Merlin plays right back again today, maybe we do have a right back already and don't know it.
