0-0 away from home against a club that has beaten more times in the Premier League than they have against any other team.
Unbeaten in 5
7th in the league
And it's still about 90% moaning, whinging and throwing toys outta ya prams...

I know. What do people want? Come one everyone, let's have a bit more positivity, big week ahead!
13 Sep 2026 12:39:01
Have to agree with you, mate, I really think some want us to fail, just to crow I told you so.
13 Sep 2026 13:28:46
Plenty of positives yesterday. Moyes prezzer afterwards probably told you about why there was fear in the players. He said he reminded them that they would be up for the fight and come at us, and that it was these that knocked us out of Europe. After the first 20 mins, we finally broke away from that fear and started to play.
So much to play for this season, and we've got a team ready for the top half of this table.
I think we've got every chance of a cup and Europe. When was the last time you could actually think like that?
I remember a few years ago, not sleeping for three nights before a Palace game and a Bournemouth game due to being petrified of the consequences of our next game if we didn't win!
13 Sep 2026 15:28:16
I seem to remember we didn't turn up to the game against Spurs last year. Would hardly say they knocked us out of Europe. Plus we finished 4 points behind European places.
The frustration is down to not beating a team who were for the taking, given they are struggling to score a goal. Sad thing is, so are we!
It's alright saying people are moaning, but it's games like these that can decide whether you finish 13th or much higher up the table.
We were under the cosh a lot yesterday, and we seem to set up for a draw. No harm in wanting all three points and forward momentum going into the next game.
13 Sep 2026 16:18:44
Don't think it's been a bad start at all, but some perspective, we are what, 4 games in? Will judge us by Xmas time, the lack of full back options and strikers puts the fear in me!
13 Sep 2026 16:19:23
Hang on, before this game everyone was saying how crap Spurs were and that we would batter them. Now for some reason it's a good result.
We sat back and gave them the ball, very similar to what we did last season. Had we shown a little more ambition from the off, we could have won the game.
Instead, we sit on 6 from a possible 12, but hey, we haven't lost a game so that's ok.
By the way, it was bottling it against Sunderland, cost us Europe, not losing to Spurs.
13 Sep 2026 16:29:09
Never said we'd batter them, we never batter Spurs, regardless of how they are performing.
A 0-0 draw away from home is rarely a bad result.
13 Sep 2026 16:37:13
Some people can never ever see the positive side, BB, mate.
13 Sep 2026 18:41:41
HB, you were one of them, we had 3-0, even 5-0. And what was the score? You might be happy watching a team sit back and defend against a team you yourself called crap. Well, I'm not, just have higher expectations, I guess.
13 Sep 2026 19:06:45
Yes, whatever, BP. Let's just all pretend everything lovely, shall we? Good players, poor tactics, but hey, 0-0 and another draw. Brilliant.
14 Sep 2026 07:44:35
What worries me is the player we have up front. The guy is an absolute disgrace of a footballer. He is an onion. He has no idea how to play football. He can't take a touch, can't hold the ball up, can't pass, can't finish, can't run, can't do nothing, and we can't even sub him. Johnson is terrible, too slow and no skill, no good. Yes, I am happy with the points, but we could have been 3 down against Palace, lucky against Bournemouth and Utd, and then that point yesterday was decent.
I fear in a couple of months things might not be so rosey, 2 injuries and we are done for. My biggest concern is the loser we have up front, guy is a shocking footballer and so annoying to watch.
13 Sep 2026 12:08:55
So far Garner is awful and off the pace, Moyes will continue with him because he was amazing last year, I fail to see it. He's awful at set pieces, doesn't really assist or score.doesn't link play.
Yesterday we tore through Spurs with Grealish KDH and Hackney, they worked a triangle and we had an attempt.
That more than anything in the previous 80 mins.
When we just hoof it up then KDH loses interest pretty quickly and had a bad game.
I also struggle to understand how there professional footballers can't make simple passes to each other.
We must be the only team that do it . do we train with match balls?

13 Sep 2026 12:40:23
He was our best player last season, and now he's been injured. Give him some slack, mate. He will come good again.
13 Sep 2026 12:50:57
We must have the most fickle fan base in the country.
13 Sep 2026 12:55:30
Wtf are you on!!! Garner ran that midfield yesterday, and that at only 80%.
13 Sep 2026 13:41:17
Garner was terrible yesterday and so far this season. DFS, you need to look back on the game and look at him. He was leaving gaps constantly and not picking up players. Fernandez was taking the Mickey out of him. But, for me, the three of them in the middle weren't great.
Moyes is trying to give him minutes to play into form, which is fair enough. He should really be coming off the bench, in my opinion.
When he's back up to speed, he'll be just like last season. If any of you remember last preseason, he was shocking then, but when the season started he was ready. He hasn't had it this time.
Hayden is in a much better place, and it was no surprise last week when Garner went off and Hayden came on, we exploded into life.
13 Sep 2026 15:30:43
I would like to see Hackney start and Garner come on for him or ANM to build game time, BJU. Don't think Moyes sees it the same way though.
13 Sep 2026 16:20:49
Not sure what posters are seeing re Garner. I thought he was quality yesterday.
13 Sep 2026 16:32:53
Because it's an opportunity to whinge, Witty. Garner was brilliant last season, now, with no preseason behind him after a long injury, he is suddenly an awful player ha ha ha. ?
13 Sep 2026 20:36:00
Agree, Bunkbeds. Garner is an 8 out of 10 every game for me. Class last season, and was class yesterday.
14 Sep 2026 06:52:01
He's had a poor start, but, as I said, it's because he hasn't had a preseason. Moyes is trying to play him into form.
MOTD showed his highlight reels, but there were plenty of things they didn't show that highlighted he's struggling, which is perfectly understandable and not his fault.
He's going to be our main man in the middle for the rest of the season, and he's our best midfielder, but I'm not going to say he's great when he isn't.
When Hayden came on, he was so much more mobile, linking with KDH and Jack, and we started to get a foothold in the game. Garner doesn't have the legs to do that at the moment.
If you need to be subbed off in a game because of cramp, like last week, then you are clearly off the pace and not fully fit. Only my opinion, though.
14 Sep 2026 17:00:08
Just one quote of many from a pundit, and having seen the full game back, I agree wholeheartedly with Garner.
Most will most likely agree that Garner was once again the man who held everything together for Everton, and without him, they may not have got any type of result at all.
£200 mill worth of midfielders schooled by an 80% fit Garner. I have no idea what some of the negatives watch, or if it is just cut and paste from previous comments. Even Myko is still coming in for criticism, when arguably he and JB were our standouts.
13 Sep 2026 11:51:42
I keep reading we have 2 winnable games coming up this week. Have you forgotten we are Everton. We rarely manage to win 2 winnable games in a week. ?

13 Sep 2026 12:40:54
Is that what you want, mate.
13 Sep 2026 12:51:54
All games are winnable. We'll win some, lose some and draw some. Try and enjoy when we're doing well.
13 Sep 2026 11:15:39
I'm just thinking, 33 is no age for a poacher like Icardi. He isn't the answer beyond the end of this season.
The guy could do a job for the next 8 months. I'd offer him a contract on terms that suit us and throw in clauses that if his off field baggage comes to haunt us we can terminate his contract as early as January.
Just think our squad would cope till January with another CF.

Everton overall were not on their game. What does that say for Spurs? I reckon Zerbi will get sacked.

13 Sep 2026 13:46:22
Totally agree mate. I think he's a terrible. manager and I have no idea why he's rated so highly. He was lucky they stayed up last year. My best mate is a spurs fan and after yesterday I think he might do time if he ever sees him! Or me because I would him up something rotten.
13 Sep 2026 10:32:31
I don't understand why he didn't bring on Hackney a lot earlier, he really affected the match last week. He should have taken Barry off and put George up top. I'm sick and tired off watching Barry with his poor touch and lack of striker's instinct.

13 Sep 2026 15:43:07
Agree totally. We could bring on Grealish and Hackney; why take off George? We repeatedly try plan B (actually B&B) . We need someone else who can play up top. George has looked better and better, maybe he should be tried as Plan A.
Would love to see some crosses come in and have him attacking them. He certainly can hold the ball up better than no touch Barry.
13 Sep 2026 09:19:42
I'm not having a go at anyone, but I don't get it, when Grealish came on, why was George taken off ?
Last week, when Grealish came on, George was moved to the right, and it worked well .
Like I said, not having a go at Johnson, think in the long run, he will be ok, but at this time, George, offers much more of a goal threat,it worked well last week, just don't get it !

I am guessing Moyes is managing his minutes. Game in midweek coming up, and with a winnable home game at the weekend, I am sure Moyes will want him involved in both. We have a small squad. This is the reality of that small squad.
13 Sep 2026 10:49:56
Yep, our defence is rock solid. Good performances from JB and Myko, who got motm. Next two games, very important time for Hackney and Dibling to shine midweek.
13 Sep 2026 09:22:23
I don't understand George off for Grealish. Should have been Johnson off, George to RW. Need a striker. Swap Johnson back for McNeil.

McNeil isn't a striker mate.
13 Sep 2026 12:57:24
Nor is Johnson by the looks of things.
13 Sep 2026 07:59:38
Happy where we are 7th and unbeaten, just goes to show you can spend shed loads on money on players as Spurs have done and still have a crock of xxxx for a Team, next two games very winnable.

I'm pleased where we are, GB, and the fight in the team. I also like how we defend and the midfield is pretty decent.
I do feel that our lack of firepower upfront will get exposed soon enough. I've seen no evidence from Johnson as yet that he can play as a cf.
{Ed025's Note - its the same old problem Benny..
13 Sep 2026 09:24:01
Seen no evidence so far that Johnson is a player.
13 Sep 2026 09:30:59
Johnson is a terrible footballer. I wouldn't play him. I would rather play with 10 players. That was a bad move getting him, and Barry wouldn't get a game in the Conference League. The guy is one of the worst footballers I've ever seen.
We need to get to January as quick as we can to try to buy some players. Having him up top is pointless, it shows you how bad the Premier League is if a team like ours can pick up points because we are toothless.
{Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that Dino..
13 Sep 2026 09:36:11
I've seen the evidence that Johnson is crap. Who signs these players? I wouldn't swap him for a packet of sandwiches, never mind swap him for a player. We are a joke, and tbh we are hard to watch. I am going to the Ipswich game and then Liverpool, and that's it until they sign some players.
Sick of going to Hilldickenson and spending good money watching pure crap football and football players. Most games we hardly have a shot at the net, it's boring.
13 Sep 2026 09:40:49
I thought the midfield yesterday was shocking. Garner is nowhere near ready to play in the first yet. He is off the pace, not tracking his men. He let Fernandes go in the first half, which should have seen a goal for Spurs. Kdh, for some reason, couldn't shoot, powderpuff attempts instead of with power, and his passing was completely the opposite. Too many of his passes were hit with power and behind the man. Armstrong was the best of the three, but he ran in blind alleys too often.
I thought Moyes was insane for taking off George and leaving Johnson on. George was playing really well and Johnson was having a stinker. Even Dibbling would have been a better option, as he can hold the ball up like Jack, who I thought started to get us control of the game.
Jack and Dibbling in these types of games are so important. They get time on the ball and frustrate the opposition, but they also get niggly fouls that allow you to get up the pitch. It's why City camp inside the opposition half most of the game. When you have a team like Spurs with the players they have, it's so important you start to take the sting out of the game. For the first 20 mins all we did was hoof the ball up, which allowed them to get back on the attack.
Anyway I ain't totally moaning because it was still a good point, but they are a poor team and we should have got a better result. Also, it was nice to have a good RB in the side. He is still a bit rusty but he looks like a steal at £4.2m.
13 Sep 2026 13:07:07
Garner only at 80% ran that midfield against Spurs.
13 Sep 2026 13:11:51
Haha Dino, in pure meltdown mode!
It ain't all bad, Dino. We're undefeated after 5 games and averaged 2 goals per game at home so far. Also played United at home and a Spurs side that's spent 350m quid.
2 more points out of those games than last year.
I'm really hopeful for this season. Take another look at the glass and see if you can find the bit that's half full.
13 Sep 2026 16:46:54
Feel the comments on Barry being crap are extreme and a little unjust. He has had 1 full season and is young. He is essentially playing up top on his own. He isn't crap, and I think he will continue to improve. For that matter, nor is Johnson.
I think we need to get real. With the summer spending, I doubt we will get European football, but we won't get relegated either.
More of the same, I think, which isn't going to please the fanbase, but until we can sort out our finances and start drawing revenue from the stadium, it could be a couple of more seasons before we are the real deal (just being realistic) .
13 Sep 2026 20:08:14
What will please the fan base, Witty? We could get to Christmas undefeated and there will be some that find something to moan about.
13 Sep 2026 00:00:33
Getting a point away in London is nothing to be scoffed at, but it’s the way we go about it that frustrates me.
Soak up pressure, barely hanging on at times and make a Spurs side derived of confidence look alright. You wonder if we played with the ball on the ground and had Grealish on earlier, would we have taken more than a point…
Agree2

13 Sep 2026 09:34:12
I don't mind the soaking up the pressure part. I expected Spurs to throw everything at us at home to try and get their first win. Thought we looked well organised and sharp in defence. At 60 minutes, the game was there for the taking. I'd have taken off Barry and Johnson myself, and put Grealish and Alcaraz on.
Anyone know what's up with Rohl?
