A number of strikers have been mentioned, and in truth knowing except those on the inside know which one's are true, or click bait.
However, regardless which one's are true or otherwise, the one thing I find hard to believe, is that the club are resisting an offer for Barry, not into insulting the lad, but he is clearly a player, miles off Premiership standards and getting even a 50% of his fee back should be a no brainer.

The guy at the back for Ghana last night…Think his name was Senaya…What a monster of a performance…Such a strong player. Now I’d like to see us go in for him.

I think we should be looking at a decent backup keeper, judging by Pickford's performance last night. Just brings home how much we rely on him and if he were to have a dip in form then who do we have to replace him?

{Ed025's Note - i know what you mean Dev but i think we have more pressing issues than the Keeper mate, im not sure what our budget is yet but we have a lot of recruitment to do to become competitive i feel..

24 Jun 2026 11:30:23
We have two that sit on the bench every game, mate.

24 Jun 2026 12:04:24
Can you honestly say they are good enough though? Pickford saves us time after time, it's only a matter of time when his form dips or he gets an injury. I know we have more pressing issues, but we need to start thinking big. We must be able to get a decent keeper on a free. Just seen Dubravka is off to Spurs.

23 Jun 2026 13:05:30
Kevin Boma off to Salzburg for 6 million.

Definitely one missed. 23, fast and powerful. No nonsense but decent on the ball. Would rather have him than one of Keane or Tarks that is for sure.

23 Jun 2026 15:28:18
Only missed if Everton went in for him. Whoops, it is a rumour site, I forgot.

23 Jun 2026 17:23:28
Our lot have probably never heard of him BN.

23 Jun 2026 17:25:35
Think we were in for him late in Jan, tbf, Dms.

When I say one missed, I just mean due to the price. You don't get those types of bargains anymore, and granted, some might say he could be crap, but from what I have seen he is certainly good enough to be 3rd choice CB for us, with further scope for improvement.

23 Jun 2026 20:04:23
That would have been a steal BN, both those two need upgrading mate.

24 Jun 2026 01:16:45
You're not wrong, GB! As much as the opposite end of the pitch and flanks for me.

Not sure we will see much difference in the backline centrally, but it definitely needs upgrading.

Judging by Gana's display last night and end of the season, he needs replacing too.

24 Jun 2026 07:21:58
My worry with Gana is that he's not getting any rest. Tough season, AFCON and now WC, what's he going to be like come mid August?

24 Jun 2026 12:16:15
Not wrong, Toffee Ace, and he will be 37 a few games into the season. Players may last longer these days, but it is only the small few that still perform to a high level in the late 30's. Gana's role involves being fit as a fiddle and covering an insane amount of ground.

Surely that is the first thing that will go when you age, and it isn't like he has ever been technically great or an out and out footballer.

24 Jun 2026 14:57:56
Agree it will be very worrying if we are relying on him at the start of the season.

23 Jun 2026 12:52:30
Hull are after Tim for around 20m.

I would take that and go and get Sano or Frendrup for 5m more. Massive upgrades the two of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jun 2026 14:53:38
Would defo sell at that, but we'll get Soucek and be happy.

23 Jun 2026 15:11:16
He is an over the hill nobody but Moyes would buy. It represents everything that's wrong with his approach to football, safe, medeocka, lacking ambition. If you're happy with mid table, he's your man.

23 Jun 2026 16:23:38
After Doue but will end up with Maitland-Niles because the hierarchy have no ambition. I really hope when the window shuts I have to eat my words.

23 Jun 2026 16:55:06
Looks like we will hand Gana a new deal and sell Tim WTF.

24 Jun 2026 07:47:28
I thought Tim looked good after a little run towards the end of the season. He's a young player built like an Ox and throws himself around. Give him the pick over Gana. He will get better I'm sure.

24 Jun 2026 07:59:55
Just needs to improve his passing Ta, but as you say he's a young player and could still improve.

24 Jun 2026 12:18:30
Very impressive athlete, no doubts about that, but his brain just isn't there. It isn't there from a defensive perspective, his positional awareness and ability to sense the danger and nip the issue in the bud early isn't there, and he hasn't got the brain when he wins the ball back.

I would be more inclined to play him in one of the 8's, but as a 6, just not reliable enough for me.

24 Jun 2026 12:19:54
I have seen that we are being linked again to Miles-Naitland. From memory, I am sure we were linked to him last summer window and again in Jan. Think we have messed around too long in getting a decent RB in, and need to go for real quality to fill arguably our weakest area, and be prepared to spend money to fill this position on a player who can give us a good number of years consistent service.

23 Jun 2026 11:32:21
If we are still talking to Hackney and have made no progress, what are the chances of getting more in by the end of the window? Seems like a very dragged out process.

A few people have been asking about Guela Doue, so here’s a clearer picture of what he actually is as a player and whether the £40m being quoted makes any sense.
Doue is a 23‑year‑old right‑back at Strasbourg who has really kicked on this season. He’s a powerful, athletic full‑back who loves carrying the ball forward and is one of the better ball‑carrying RBs in Ligue 1. Physically he already looks like someone who could handle the Premier League — strong in duels, quick over short distances, and aggressive without being reckless.

On the ball he’s very direct. He doesn’t overcomplicate things, but he’s effective: he drives forward, links play well enough, and his final ball has improved massively, which is why he’s sitting on six assists this season. He’s tidy, purposeful and gets the ball into dangerous areas. Defensively he’s front‑foot, likes to engage early, and generally wins his battles. The only real issues are that he can overcommit at times and he’s still learning how to deal with wide overloads, but that’s normal for a young full‑back.

He’s also tactically flexible. He can play as a traditional RB, a wing‑back, or even as the right‑sided centre‑back in a back three because of his physicality and defensive instincts. That versatility is a big part of his appeal.

As for the £40m price tag, that’s where things get unrealistic. He’s a very good prospect and he would absolutely improve us, but £40m is Champions League‑club money, not the kind of fee a rebuilding side like us should be throwing around. His true value is probably somewhere in the £20–25m range, maybe £30m if a bidding war starts. At £40m you’re paying for what he might become rather than what he is right now.

In short, Doue is a strong, modern full‑back with a high ceiling and a profile that suits the Premier League, but the quoted fee is inflated and doesn’t reflect where he is in his development. He’d improve us, no question, but not at that price.

22 Jun 2026 21:26:04
Great info, mate. The prices are ridiculous these days for most deals. Look at what Boro are asking for a player with only 1 year left on his contract, especially since he has no Premier League experience.

22 Jun 2026 22:17:53
We've got a rep for paying over top dollar. I'm not surprised if we get the mick taken with prices anymore. Just wish we had some decent silverware to justify it.

22 Jun 2026 22:19:47
Yeah mate, exactly this. The whole market's gone daft. Hackney's a tidy player, but Boro asking that kind of money for someone with one year left on his contract and no Premier League experience just shows where things are at. Championship clubs know Premier League sides are desperate, so they stick a premium on anyone who can pass a ball five yards.

It's the same with Doue. Good player, loads of potential, but the numbers being thrown around aren't based on what he is right now, they're based on what he might become in a couple of years.

Until this bubble bursts, we're going to keep seeing players with potential and with one good season under their belt being quoted at Champions League prices. Doesn't mean they're bad players, just that the fees are completely detached from reality.

23 Jun 2026 00:43:22
Puts us in a no win situation. If the selling club sticks to their guns, or if some other club is willing to pay over the odds, we lose out.
My belief is that, where we find ourselves at present, we will have to pay over the odds, maybe not the 40M, but more than the player is worth.

If we do that, then we have to be very certain that, firstly, he will be used rather than spending a season on the bench, and, secondly, he will make us better as a team.

23 Jun 2026 04:55:54
The problem is we've overpaid in the past on who didn't move the needle, Beto £30m, Barry £25m, Dibling £40m, so now when we do need to stretch a bit, everyone's rightly nervous about us getting burned again.
If we're going above a player's real value to try and pull off a coup, then it has to be someone who's a nailed on starter from day one. No more spending big on players who end up as rotation options or stuck adapting for half a season.

And if we do push the boat out, Moyes has to actually use them and not have him sat behind someone just because they're one of his favourites.

The market's gone mad, but that doesn't mean we have to get dragged into every mad price and start a bidding war with ourselves. Pick the right ones, walk away from the daft ones, that's the only way we stop repeating the same mistakes.

23 Jun 2026 06:54:54
There is no way Everton will pay 40million for a right back.

23 Jun 2026 07:42:19
Reality is everything has gone up to ridiculous prices. Anyone tried buying a piece of beef for a roast lately?

23 Jun 2026 09:02:00
Blue Co will demand the full 40mil.

23 Jun 2026 17:26:18
What if the right ones are 30/40m and the wrong ones are 20m?

25 Jun 2026 00:01:12
I only know left and right when it comes to full backs, BMD..

£40m for a RB is insane. I'm sure Moyes can do better than that (or I at least hope he can) .

22 Jun 2026 18:46:34
If it's true that Bergvall is available for transfer, he'd be an excellent signing for now and the future. Slot him in with Garner and KDH and we've have a great midfield trio for a good few years.

22 Jun 2026 20:35:19
Why would Spurs get rid?

I rate him very highly, tbf, would be amazing.

22 Jun 2026 20:47:24
According to reports, he's asked to leave. De Zebri didn't play him.

22 Jun 2026 16:28:43
Sports and Politics should never mix, but unfortunately they often do, so as a firm believer of taking opportunities when they present themselves, if as the media seem to think that Andy Burnham will be our next Prime Minister so as he's an blue, what legislation should he bring in?
I'm up for the banning of a certain song about walking on you own, or the removal of all ex red football pundits from our screens and radios.

Think broad and deep blues if he gets in let's ballot for the best ide

Well, to be consistent he will promise loads and deliver nothing.

22 Jun 2026 19:16:11
Britain is in a mess mate it's broke and needs fixing, there's been more PMs in the last few years than we've had new managers, sad state of affairs

22 Jun 2026 20:52:58
Not the hilarious offerings I was hoping for, cheer up peeps, we're currently 9th with a 0 goal difference.

22 Jun 2026 21:05:31
A democracy with a choice of a or b every GE.

22 Jun 2026 22:26:52
Joking aside, set up a regulator to sort out prem corruption.

Still can't believe Chelsea were let off after the £47m payments and it feels like City will get nothing.

Sort out the corruption, identify what other skeletons are hiding in the breakaway 6. How can Spurs keep spending like there's no tomorrow having spent a fortune on their stadium and finishing so low last few seasons? I'm sure Utd and Liverpool can't be squeaky clean given the levels of debt owners have been in.

Is Arsenal the only clean team? Had our dodgy Russian backer for quite a while.

Come on Burnham, if you do anything football related, sort out the corruption.

22 Jun 2026 23:27:26
Lol. No corruption here, just one of the best and biggest clubs in world football.

23 Jun 2026 08:27:21
Yet Everton Football Club seems to be your main concern?

23 Jun 2026 10:26:48
Think the guy will be a little bit too busy to worry about the dodgy Premier League.
