Im watching thee first half of England under 21s. Dibling is playing on the right hand side, hes been terrible, I hooe its just the lack of playing time, either a backward pass, comes inside and gives it away, just nothing about him says im a premiership player im afraid. And to make it worse ther3 playing Moldova.
{Ed025's Note - i have feared that since he came Pasty, looks way out of his depth every time i have seen him mate and whoever sanctioned his signing and especially the fee we paid should be named and shamed imo..

As has happened for years with our dealings, Southampton have had their way with us without even buying a drink first. A whole new backroom staff and seen off. Moyes reckons he can drag a player out of Dibling during pre-season as well. Miracles, I suppose.
31 Mar 2026 21:44:52
Confidence is so important in football, when that goes it's hard going. The lad's confidence must be the lowest it's ever been, and maybe, with a bit of luck going his way, he might just come out of his shell and surprise us.
I remember watching Branthwaite when he first came on the scene and he wasn't great, slow and awkward, but look at him now. He went on loan and is playing full of confidence now.
{Ed025's Note - he may well come good Dino...but i dont think its with us mate, he could be homesick of course and maybe just out of his depth in the top flight, i do wish the lad well though as none of this is his fault..
31 Mar 2026 22:01:15
Dibling should have been playing in our U21 team, hardly surprising that he is not match fit sitting on the bench all year. He needs to play competitive football, if not with us out on loan.
Agree with Ed025 we should not have bought him at that price but now we have him the club has a responsibility to do the right thing for both the club and the player.
{Ed025's Note - fair comments there Mike..
01 Apr 2026 00:43:21
Definitely been poor, but do think he has been dealt a very difficult hand. Still only 19. Look what happened to Lookman when he got a bit of trust and started playing games. Still only 28, and at one of the best clubs in the world, and has just scored a hattrick in a European Cup Final. He left us when he was 20/21.
01 Apr 2026 07:31:44
Lookman is a very good example, BN. Sometimes we forget, as supporters, that some young players just need time to adjust and settle into a new club and a new environment.
Personally, I hope the lad comes good, and not just because of how much we paid for him. But because he is an Everton player.
01 Apr 2026 09:43:45
Strange that, as reports online say, he had a good game?
01 Apr 2026 12:45:49
Can't argue with any of that, Bmd.
Kean is another one, although La Viola are struggling this season, tbf, but he has still scored goals. He has a 1 in 2 strike rate for them. Granted, the Italian league isn't what it used to be, but the defences are still well-drilled. He also has a 1 in 2 for the national team.
01 Apr 2026 16:17:55
6 in his last 6 for Italy, BN. If they're not good enough for our first team, loan them out for a season and let them play regularly and develop, it's what top teams do, no shame in it.
01 Apr 2026 22:47:31
I think that's where we have missed a trick, JB. Loan them out to improve them or their price. It's a business and we forget that sometimes. Leaving players to pack the bench and never play does not do anyone any good.
31 Mar 2026 19:14:58
Reading that our latest financial accounts are in far better place than previous years, 6 months of Moshiri reign and six of TFG, hopefully DM will have a really good budget this summer.

Things have improved a great deal. But that doesn't mean we can suddenly start spending massive amounts. Certainly not 100's of millions as some people think.
31 Mar 2026 10:10:13
I’ve been up and down most season. On whole we have done really well. I think Moyes trusts players now and feel we are a lot more positive - earlier in season very dull to watch - not popular but I really thought Grealish slowed it down far too much - great retainer of ball but much more positive since Ndiaye went out on right (for me anyway) .
Looking to next season - some decisions to be made - think Garner has to be in midfield and no longer used as a right back - need a right back to also allow OBrien to be in the middle with Branthwaite / Tarks.
Midfield interesting - Alcaraz, Dibling, George, Merlin, Grealish, Gauye and McNeil - all need decisions to keep / loan / sell / give back and European football will decide some of this.
I’d like to see a bit more of George as looked exciting in brief cameo appearances.
Up front is a disaster.
For me players to move on should be:
Patterson
Keane - it’s time to let OBrien at CB.
Merlin give back.
McNeil - difficult but if that 20 million still on table I’d take it despite how good he’s been.
Barry - try and get 10 million for him.
Grealish - I’m 50/50 - big injury - his experience to likes of George / Dibling / Alcaraz could be vital - definitely wouldn’t pay 50 million for him though.
Coleman - sure he will retire.
Gueye - one more season - may need to manage his minutes but he’s still good enough.
Dibling needs a good pre season and try to nail down Rt wing position - regular games needed as I have no idea if he’s any good or not.
In
Right back - at least x1 (Ben White / Spence if Spurs go down)
Left Back - keep Myko though
Striker (Troy Parrot, Toney) - for me I’d go all out for.
Igor Thiago - would cost a lot but I think he’s guaranteed goals (think he’d be too expensive if honest though unless he has a release clause)

I like Thiago Sobs, but agree it'd cost an arm and leg for him.
Unless we sign a young, up and coming CB, I'd keep Keane for one more season.
Send Dibling on loan to build his confidence up. We'll need a new pacey RW (or a LW so Ndiaye plays on RW) - don't know who that could be and if George fits the bill.
01 Apr 2026 00:44:23
Sarr at Palace on the RW would be worth a look with Glasner, Eze and Guehi leaving, mate.
30 Mar 2026 07:57:47
A few games left to go so who is our player of the season so far, Jordan for me?
{Ed025's Note - i cant see past Jimmy to be honest GB..

30 Mar 2026 11:05:40
Have to agree with Ed there GB.
Pickford has been great but Jimmy has been just as consistent but managed to cover 3 or 4 positions for us this season without letting his standards drop.
He is relentless on the pitch for us and doesn't stop running for the full 90.
Not only does he have a great footballing brain and can score and create goals, he also has that dogged work rate and bit of bite to his game.
Total footballer mate. Love him.
{Ed025's Note - yeah me too BN..
30 Mar 2026 11:44:11
Jimmy for me also. If he doesn't make the World Cup squad and pass-it-backwards Henderson does, it will be a travesty.
30 Mar 2026 13:41:01
Pickford has been immense and has been responsible for winning several games this season. I'd pick him over Garner but Garner has been immense.
Surprised Ed didn't go for Barry
{Ed025's Note - i thought of Barry BR then i realized its not a conference league competition, i think Pickers has been great as usual mate but the step up Jimmy has made just swung it for me..
30 Mar 2026 15:09:17
We now have some very good players in the Team, Jimmy, Ndiaye, KDH, Pickers, JB to mention a few, we are punching above our weight this season a couple more windows with DM at the helm and we can be up there with the best of them Ed mate
30 Mar 2026 15:50:34
Ahhhh, (exhale) , it is just nice to have a bit of positivity to talk about once, isn't it, Gents. That and the lighter nights sure make life a little easier to navigate, ey.
30 Mar 2026 16:27:28
Definitely, mate, but it's been a hell of along time coming, buddy.
30 Mar 2026 17:04:43
Let's not count any chickens yet.. there's still 7 games to go, and we have as much chance finishing 13th as well as 5th. The table is tightly packed and a run here or there would propel someone up 5-6 places whilst a barren run could see you drop as many places.
Let's get through to Summer and look to add to the rebuild.
30 Mar 2026 17:56:04
Let's beat Liverpool. They are there for the taking just like the past 2 home games. Play on the front foot, get the crowd into it, and go and win the game. They are a bad lot, and we can stuff them.
Just wish we had of played like that the whole season at home, we would be sitting even higher up the table, but hats off to Moyes, all is forgiven.
30 Mar 2026 18:45:51
Of course Dino, mate, Liverpool will not relish playing us at all, we can beat them for sure.
30 Mar 2026 20:32:24
It's the Derby - anything could happen..

Hello all,
Sorry if this has already been covered here, but what are the connotations of us and Roma getting into Europe if we both qualify for the same competition?
I've just checked Serie A and they are currently 6th which (I think) currently gives them a place in The Conference.
Would they get preference as they have a better recent pedigree?

Thought it was whoever performed better in their domestic league (league position. If that was the same, points, wins, goal difference, who has the better tea lady, whichever team can house biscuit the Labrador, etc) .
29 Mar 2026 15:31:32
The Friedkins' eyes will be wide open after what happened to Palace last season, I'm sure they have a plan for what could unfold.
29 Mar 2026 19:47:06
According to the Echo the Friedkins have it covered (whatever that means) .

28 Mar 2026 16:58:14
Yeah, foot injury with a 75% of playing, so can't be that bad.
28 Mar 2026 23:51:49
Hasn't he got 2 weeks until the next game? Hopefully, he'll have enough time to recover.
29 Mar 2026 10:13:45
75 percent is still 25 percent not able. Not a problem if not using feet, which defies the game description.
27 Mar 2026 14:29:48
Reading that Alcaraz is back in training. Good news that. We are going to need everyone for that final push for Europe in our last few games.

27 Mar 2026 13:12:30
I don't think anyone can make a case for spending 42 million for Dibling, but the suggestion that we now sell him, is equally nuts.
We would be lucky to get back even half of the fee, but if we put him out on loan, and with a run of games recovers his confidence, and it shows in his performances, then we might be able to recover a substantial portion of the fee, radical yes, and common sense.
Agree1
Disagree0
27 Mar 2026 16:21:41
Or just give the lad a chance to play. Selling him would be mental.
27 Mar 2026 16:52:30
How about we finally allow a kid to develop for a year or 2, and then reap the rewards? Hopefully we sign another 1 or 2 future prospects every window, and who knows? Maybe in 2 or 3 years, we are the new Brighton? What would people have to moan about then? I probably should not have asked.
27 Mar 2026 17:40:41
I just hope they don't cost £50m a piece, FBS.
Sending Dibbers out on loan is a good shout if Moyes is not willing to play him. He's not going to do anything sitting on the bench week in, week out. Like other prospects, see if he comes good, otherwise sell him. Same with Barry.
27 Mar 2026 18:08:10
I see you are back with your moaning comments. It is not a moan about Dibling, it is just a lack of understanding why we would have spent 40M on a kid to sit on a bench while the two positions of striker and right-back, which have been needed for years, were not addressed.
Now that we have him, he needs more playing time either with us or as a loan.
27 Mar 2026 20:56:15
This is what will happen with Dibling: hardly play or loaned out nxt season. He will get a chance and play well in his 3rd season for us, then will be awesome in his 4th season and will be a free transfer. You heard it here 1st, lads.
27 Mar 2026 21:03:23
Moyes has said he is going to give Dibling a good pre-season. To be honest, (what do I know) , I only saw the lad have a couple of fair games for Southampton, and couldn't understand the £40 mill or what it was based on.
26 Mar 2026 16:49:43
Sorry Moyes haters. He comes a Moyes loving post.
Since his return:
1.54 points per game ave.
1.53 Ancelotti.
1.50 Moyes, 1st time.
77 points, only 5 teams have more.
11 points more than last season.
16 clean sheets, only City, Arsenal and Palace have more.
The stats are clear to see our progress. But let's not that get in the way of moaning we don't play like Real Madrid.
We're not City or Arsenal or top 4, yet, and we might not, but how many teams are? Look at Spurs, Man Utd have been way off, Chelsea will struggle this year.
We are making good solid progress, a possibility of Europe and with good recruitment in the summer who knows.
I for one hope we give Moyes at least a 2yr extension and see what happens.
{Ed025's Note - i must admit he has done a lot better than i expected BB, iwould not be opposed to a small extension mate and see how it goes..
Agree9
Disagree4
26 Mar 2026 17:40:17
Yep, short extension rather than a big long contract. Sensible given whoever is manager, as things change quickly.
This is a manager who gets Everton, is Everton, and wants what is best for Everton.
27 Mar 2026 08:47:06
Moyes is doing well at the moment. I was against him coming back, and, given the way we wimped out of both cup competitions and our awful home form, I thought this was only going to go one way. However, recent games have given me more hope that a slight change in tactics, ie not sitting back at home but pressing the opposition instead, has made it a lot more enjoyable to watch now.
Still not happy with the way he uses substitutes (this is not an eleven man game anymore) . Can only hope we finish the season strong now, as where we finish will determine whether we have had a good season or not. If we do miss out on European football, then that will be down to our early season form, which was poor. Oh, and Man Utd are in Champions League position at the moment. I would take that.
27 Mar 2026 12:46:39
Didn't wimp out of the FA Cup. Sunderland at the time were a team in form and playing well. Went to penalties and the BB's decided to play silly buggars. Even Garner missed.
27 Mar 2026 14:06:39
Man Utd are currently in top 4 yeah. But very well documented recent team struggles over the last few seasons, for a club that was almost guaranteed CL football.
27 Mar 2026 15:08:29
Another good summer window and we can kick on again. If we had a decent striker we'd be in the Champions League places this season.
27 Mar 2026 16:27:15
We did wimp out of the cup, played negative football, and only livened up when we made subs. Sunderland were there for the taking, and we didn't bother. Stop trying to make excuses for what was a very poor performance.
Their top four, that's all you need to know.
27 Mar 2026 17:45:05
He's done a great job, but there have been times we have been left wondering "what if." with Moyes. He rightly deserves another season as a minimum, but I hope he buys some decent players, gives the youth some game time, comes up with a plan B, and stops playing players out of position.
This year's league has been so open, we could well have been even higher if we hadn't bottled some of the games you'd have hoped we would win or at least get a point, only to end up losing them.
27 Mar 2026 21:09:07
Watched the game, Brass, that is all I know. Both sides were quiet until the goal. Second half, we were the better side. I don't make excuses, just report what I see, not an expert like some, I do admit.
27 Mar 2026 23:10:28
Season of two halves so far. Can't excuse cup form, and as it's been said by others, if our home form had been better, then we would certainly be lauding him for what he has done.
