I’m sure most on here are worried about the direction we are heading. I think Moyes really wants success with the Blues but it looks like he’s operating with his hands tied. Thus the lack of interviews before the season started and now sharpness with the press. It looks like Burnley’s nest egg has made a difference. Meanwhile, Chelsea - City seem to have got away with pure cheating. 7 million of our overspend over three years went on the stadium, yet we are made an example of.

Moyes' contract talks have apparently gone quiet. Let’s hope in the remaining week of the window he can get a few players in - I live in hope but it’s doubtful. As for Delap; 45-50 mill is too much - but is Saveo worth up to 100 mill etc etc. I’ll be there despite years of being demoralised. But when is the tide going to change?

Delap to Forest for 50 mill. Good luck with that hes not worth half that.

25 Aug 2026 21:06:19
Completely agree. I actually thought he could have been a good signing for us but never at that price!! How the hell Chelsea have made money on him is a mystery to me. Also can't believe Forest have stumped up that amount! Transfer fees really have gone crazy!

If we could get one of Doue/Baku or Munoz for Right Back, Bard for left back and Richy coming home that would be a brilliant window, Martinelli on his way to Saudi, so could see Arsenal coming in for Ndiaye, hopefully not, but if they do we need to spend on say a Yilmaz to compensate his departure.

I genuinely believe if we can get the above, I could see us challenging for top 6 never mind top 8/9/10.

1

25 Aug 2026 23:16:17
Would be a great window, Col, but I think what would severely hinder us getting into the top 6 would be the fact we do not have anything close to a natural goal scorer.

If rumours are true, then why are we listening to offers for O'Brien. He played 7 games at centre half last season and we won 5, drew 2. Surely Moyes can't expect tarks to go on forever. Just seems a strange decision if true.

26 Aug 2026 00:19:17
I think it's because, again, of rumours are true, that he has asked to leave. No point keeping an unhappy player.

Delap to Forest looks done.

1

25 Aug 2026 18:40:25
Good.

2

25 Aug 2026 19:04:57
Yep. If Forest are stupid enough to pay £45m for a player who only scored 2 goals in 41 appearances last season, then jog on!

We desperately need a striker, but that's going too far. Can't believe Chelsea managed to get a profit of £15m on a player who did nowt to earn that accolade.

Fair play to Chelsea, I guess, if someone is stupid enough to pay, then why not! But thankfully that wasn't us!

Just praying there is someone else in the market we can get. 🙏

25 Aug 2026 19:26:26
£45m with £5m in addons, deal agreed to Forest.

1

25 Aug 2026 19:27:01
Would take Richy myself.

25 Aug 2026 19:41:41
Probably end up with some crap up front worse than what we have. If Delap is going for £50m, then God knows what we will get for £20m.

Barry or Beto's kid brothers. 😱😂

O'Brien linked with Palace. Fancy another straight swap with them, this time for Munoz.

Then go big on a striker and get a loan in for the LB spot.

Can really start being realistic about pushing Arsenal then with no Europe to contend with.

Pushing Arsenal? I'd be delighted with 7th place and a cup run this season.

2

25 Aug 2026 18:49:38
Pushing Arsenal.. Do you mean on a swing?

3

25 Aug 2026 19:06:05
Pushing Arsenal? Let's get top 10 and a good cup run or win.

I still have the feeling we will get Richarlison once Spurs have sorted their players coming in.

3

25 Aug 2026 19:58:23
Hope so mate.

25 Aug 2026 20:09:20
How has the sarcasm not been detected in that post hahahah. Come on lads, you are all better than that!

Everyone getting just a little tense, methinks.

Lol well done BN.

Cheers, BB. I must admit, I thought I had no chance with that mate!

Some of the comments about O'Brien just blow my mind. He is only 25. He has not been given much of an opportunity at his preferred position of center-half. He has all of their height and physical attributes needed for that position. He did a reasonable job as right-back, hardly let us down. He wants to play as a center-half which is a reasonable request. He is the sort of player that we should be keeping and nurturing not letting go.

So we should let him go providing we can get a replacement we are told. At this stage of the window we would probably get another Keane or Tarks type with no sell on value. Of course we always have Mykolenko as a back-up center-back. What a joke that is.
We need to keep O'Brien, at least for another season. It is not long since everyone was saying they wanted a combination of O'Brien and Branthwaite as center-backs.

2

25 Aug 2026 17:11:54
Everyone knows and no one would disagree that he should be playing with Jarrad. However, Tarks is now captain, which means Jake will play less than Keane. Keane will get game time because he can play on the left of defence, whereas Jake can't, or should I say doesn't look as accomplished.

Keane and Tarks are the ones that shouldn't be there.

25 Aug 2026 17:14:01
I like O'Brien and hope he stays. But if he wants out rather than fight to be our starting cb, then let him go. Nobody is bigger than the club, and if he's unhappy, that will fester among others.

0

25 Aug 2026 18:26:40
Tarks and Keane surely only have this season plus maybe one more so he shouldn't have long to wait plus any injuries in between.

1

25 Aug 2026 19:49:00
Whatell, we don't know what he said. If he just said he would prefer to play center-back, who can blame him. We don't know for sure if he asked to leave.

1

25 Aug 2026 21:58:16
Personally, I feel it's all about wheeling and dealing, so if we get good money for Jake then great. I'd think 30-35 with add ons would be a deal worth doing, especially as there's multiple teams interested.

If it's just 20-25 million, seems crazy for a guy we pair 17 for & have given PL experience unless we have a younger gem lined up!
Thoughts, blue boys ?

DMS, you started a thread back in March about who you would rather have Richy or Delap. It’s in the discussion posts mate. Six months later and god knows how many strikers mentioned including these two and still nothing.
Yet people think we’re going to get five through the door in a week. Wow!

1

25 Aug 2026 17:09:26
Window wasn't open in March.

0

25 Aug 2026 17:55:28
Oh so we only look at players when the window is open? That explains a lot.

0

25 Aug 2026 18:32:21
Can look at all the players you want too. Can't officially sign any until the window opens. Plus, we've already signed 4, which in Everton's history is pretty quick compared to previous windows.

Let's just wait and see how many we sign this week before getting amazed by others' opinions.

0

25 Aug 2026 18:44:09
Hardly amazed it was a topic of conversation. Think you have totally missed the point here. The fact is, we should have these players identified long before the window opens. Get them in so they can have a full pre season and not last minute.

As for the four signings, two were loans from last season, one is a good prospect, and the other is injured. But let's just wait and see eh.

1

25 Aug 2026 19:02:31
In an ideal world I'd totally agree with you. However, being realistic, Everton isn't the attraction to top players we think it is. So, if the club have identified that level of player to improve us going forward, it's not going to be done until late in the window. Take Doue for example.

If the Rags are to be believed, he's our top choice for RB. He's going to wait to see what options he has before accepting to join us.

If it's a choice of waiting until the deadline to sign the likes of Doue, or sign someone like that Celtic RB at the start of the window, I know which option I prefer.

To be honest most of what I post is because I am a stroppy person, half serious most of the time but never wish to cause offence. God I miss ED002. Delap or Richy hmmmm! Delap is no better than B&B and a prat with it.

Someone said in reply to my post on Richy being awful the other night, that maybe it is because he wants away! I loved the guy when he was with us and his sale helped us scrape PSR but honestly do we want a guy that is going to sulk and cost us £30 mill! I do wonder if the Club are going to pull out a Felliani!
