What is the obsession from Moyes with Stones? We have a better centre back in Branthwaite. Why would you pay in excess of £250 thousand a week for an injury prone player when that money could be spent on a hungry young player like Bowen? Its hyperthetical but why waste money on a centre back when its a striker and 2 fullbacks we need.
He has these things with City. Nathan Ake is another. Last year it was Grealish and Macatee. Tell him to look further than 30 miles Down the East Lancs Road. Another one to get a mention Shea Charles, another from there academy who was not good enough for them.
15 Jun 2026 23:11:19
Yeah, like Cole Palmer and Rogers. They are both sh***e.
16 Jun 2026 03:42:19
If you believe a striker is more important than a centre back, then I assume you check our results via the club's Twitter account, and don't actually watch us.
15 Jun 2026 21:03:33
Are the fixtures out on Friday?
15 Jun 2026 14:21:52
When's the new kit coming out? Usually seen some concepts or leaked images by now.
15 Jun 2026 15:32:30
Could be being held up until we've confirmed new shirt sponsor?
15 Jun 2026 15:54:10
Should have been sorted months ago, and started selling kits by now, all adds to the player kitty.
15 Jun 2026 20:11:17
Shirt sponsor is already agreed. CMC Markets.
15 Jun 2026 13:52:13
We have two world class players, one with 3 years on his contract, one with 4 years on his contract.
Why in the name of hell, have we apparently put up a 70million price tag on either. The contract situation means the is no urgentsy for this, and we are assured their is no financial pressure to sell.
You build a side by retaining your best players, not trying to cash in with absolutely no reasons. Simple answer no offer for either player will be entertained, regardless of price.
15 Jun 2026 15:07:03
We haven't. It's the media trying to drum up a story, mate.
15 Jun 2026 20:12:26
Until you hear a board member or the manager say it themselves, then don't stress about the rumours in the press or online.
As for those two players being world class? They are very good players, but they still have work to do to hit those heights.
16 Jun 2026 04:16:33
Plus one of those I suspect is taking a long time to get over 'growing pains'.
15 Jun 2026 10:40:11
Have seen links to Lois Openda, with a fee of £34m being quoted.
He clearly has a decent pedigree having come second only to Harry Cane a couple of seasons ago with 24 goals in the Bundesliga.
Although he struggled to make an impact for Juventus on loan last season. They have an obligation to buy but are looking to move him on.
I feel that he may have struggled as Juventus are so slow and laboured in possession (a bit like us) and he relies on his blistering pace, which would be ideal for counter attacking in the Premier League.
Although he is good with his head he is only 5'9", so we would have to abandon the hoof upfield from Pickford which would certainly be a blessing.
He should be well suited to the Premier League and if he can return to his former levels he could well be a bargain for someone.
Would Moyes be prepared to a change our style of play, take a chance and mix it up a bit? Probably not, but we can live in hope.
15 Jun 2026 11:53:04
I think we are flogging a dead horse while Motes is here, it won't matter who we get, and while he is still here, I've got no interest who we get.
15 Jun 2026 12:40:59
Be a shame not to read your posts mate.
15 Jun 2026 22:14:47
Meaning ?
14 Jun 2026 21:08:23
3 decent footballing nations, Brazil, Portugal and the Netherlands all have ex Everton managers, what happened?
15 Jun 2026 15:10:49
Apart from Ancelotti, we wanted them all out, mate.
16 Jun 2026 03:44:22
Portuguese fans are 50/50 on Martinez (mainly because they love Ronaldo so much, if they didn’t, then they’d despise Martinez) and the Dutch are not big on Koeman at all.
Ancelotti is the odd one out, but he’s one of the greatest managers ever, so nothing happened, really.
He gave us James Rodriguez, so I’ll be eternally grateful. I don’t care that we had a terrible end to the season. I’ll love James Rodriguez forever.
14 Jun 2026 20:39:04
Be interesting to see how Sano does against that very good Dutch midfield. Hopefully Mr Moyes is watching, as I believe our Gana replacement is sorted with this lad.
15 Jun 2026 07:36:02
Watched that match last night for Japan, played well. That Kudo is some player. Is he still at Sociedad? He'd be a great purchase if he would be interested in joining us.
15 Jun 2026 09:02:37
Think he was a player we tried to sign and couldn't get it done.
15 Jun 2026 14:12:09
He is still there, mate, yes. I think they were wanting something stupid like £60m, mate. He has got decent ability, though, for sure.
14 Jun 2026 10:18:28
Could we just sign the Morocco team please? That’s how football should be played. Skill and pace, playing Brazil and they looked like Brazil team of old.
Thought their midfield especially was superb, and the tall lad in the middle whose name I can’t pronounce was so composed. 👏👏
14 Jun 2026 10:33:57
Or just the coach Ouahbi.
14 Jun 2026 17:00:29
Think the number 6 tall lad in midfield will bypass our level and go straight to the top of the Champions League. Small sample, but at 18 looked like a Rolls Royce - outstanding player.
14 Jun 2026 07:42:12
One day to go then silly season will be starting again, how often will we be checking for new players 😂😂 every 10 mins lol.
14 Jun 2026 09:56:52
My favorite time of the football calendar. Exciting to see all the names that we may have had then settling for what we end up with. Always ends in disappointment. Hopefully this season is different.
14 Jun 2026 10:24:41
Just sign a bloody right back please, and do it early.
14 Jun 2026 10:37:16
The problem is, if we sign a right back, we will probably get a points deduction for daring to balance our side and be competitive. There is a specific section of the PL rule book for fining Everton.
14 Jun 2026 19:33:25
What are the odds we announce some decent signings we've not heard of and have a wonderful window?
14 Jun 2026 20:28:31
Here's hoping.
14 Jun 2026 21:13:31
Depends on how many thirty-year-olds are on the market.
13 Jun 2026 20:55:01
Looks like Brentford are about to sign Pellegrino from Parma. We do all the shouting off to everybody who wants to hear about who we are looking at signing and the real teams Brentford Brighton Bournemouth and the rest do the buisness and then reveal the signing.
It's always been like that. Years ago we done the buisness and player was introdousted to the press. Seems like everybody is using our blueprint bar us. Another p***** off blue
13 Jun 2026 21:47:55
The club haven't shouted about anyone, only the fans.
14 Jun 2026 04:37:29
What about the Hackney saga, is that not the club oude from Feyenoord? These are two of a couple, so these are the fans, not the media, who get their information from the advisors of the names above, so it's not the fans.
14 Jun 2026 06:56:14
Rumours happen at every club. The only difference is we notice ours more because we follow Everton closely. Other clubs get the same noise, we just don't see it unless it's a big name or it affects us.
Liverpool were linked with Isak long before they ever made a move, and United were linked with Branthwaite long before they actually approached. One deal happened, one didn't. That's how it goes. Being linked doesn't mean anything is happening behind the scenes.
Take Wan-Bissaka this week, we were "heavily linked", then it turns out it wasn't us chasing him at all, his agent offered him around, and we weren't interested and have "knocked back an approach".
That's a perfect example of how quickly a rumour can be created out of nothing.
A lot of names get thrown around because either fans push their own favourites, agents try to drum up interest, and some journalists recycle the same names they've been using for years.
Do some rumours have something behind them? Of course. Sometimes a source genuinely picks up that we've looked at a player. But even then, it doesn't mean we're signing them. Interest is not a deal, and a link is not a negotiation.
Until the club announces something, it's just noise and every club deals with the same cycle.
{Ed025's Note - good post that OS..
14 Jun 2026 08:17:35
I don't want another season watching Mikolenko, Keane, O'Neil, Tarky, Barry and Obrien playing at right back. This team needs ripped up. Sick of the slow build up play, Pickford lumping it up only to watch it come back.
Need 2 full backs, we don't have any, need 2 mids, need a winger maybe 2 and need a forward. Why get rid of Alcaraz, sort of player we need more of, likes to get forward and attack, maybe he doesn't laugh at Moyes jokes enough.
14 Jun 2026 08:44:28
Don't believe most of what you read.
The club will have a transfer strategy, will make signings (whether they're any good remains to be seen) , and they won't share that plan with us.
14 Jun 2026 08:54:19
Whoever signs Hackney, and I hope it's us, would not have done so by reading what another club has mentioned. That boy lit up the Championship last season, is in his early 20s, and has only one year left on his deal. Every club in the UK and overseas would have looked at him and decided to pursue or not.
14 Jun 2026 10:16:46
Moyes probably thinks Alcaraz has not been good enough in training!
14 Jun 2026 12:00:36
Peter Reid was s**** in training.
