Not only has one of the Ed’s on numerous occasions said swap deals rarely if ever happen.
Kalvin Phillips is on approx £150k per week and we’re not willing to pay DCL £135k per week. So from a wage point of view can’t see it happening.
DCL a striker so if goes need a striker in place not a midfielder.
DCL also classed as homegrown so need to sell him to fully benefit from a psr point of view.
Kalvin Phillips is too much of a risk as a signing need a loan to see if can get him decent again as little risk involved then.

Gingerdan, from a PSR point of view the swap would be recorded as a sale and buy in the books. Eg, DCL would be recorded as a sale of say £20m and then Phillips a purchase of £20m. There are a lot of complications with swap deals with the potential to artificially inflate the value of players being swapped (think Juve had this issue? ) , as Everton or City could theoretically say they value DCL and Philips at £100m each and that value (profit) would go into the books. As such clubs tend to avoid actual swaps and do separate deals.

Can anyone please tell me if are new signing mangala is any good ??I don't really remember him at Forest and don't watch French football either. I'm only asking because he got a load of crap for his 30 minutes for belgium the other night. I can't say anything as I haven't seen him play yet.

Seen enough of him at Forest and a little for Belgium in the summer. He is only a loan, which I think suits us best, especially given the price Lyon were asking for.
The only thing we should be worried about Ron is whether he is better than what we have in that cdm position and I think he is.
Idrissa is not getting any younger. Doucoure can't play there. Garner imo is not defensively good enough and is more of an 8 or a 10. Tim is box to box.
He spots danger well. Is good at intercepting the ball by reading the game well. Most importantly and something not many of our players can do, he looks after the ball and retains possession.
All that being said, this is Everton and we seem to make players look a whole lot worse when they put on that blue shirt.

All I know is Belgium were already losing 2-0 when he came on, and it stayed 2-0. Lad in my local is a Forest fan, and he said he works hard but is a better defensive midfielder than an offensive one.
Which makes me think he would be ideal for Dyche.

Lindstrom does like very lightweight indeed I seen him getting roughed up at both the Donny and tranmere games, was pushed off the ball a lot but didn’t shy out he had a run in with the tranmere right back and one of the Donny players and was right back in their faces which is a positive he just needs to bulk up a bit,
I think we need to make 442 work like emery at villa, Leicester even won the league with 442.
For the weekend I’d go

Dcl ndiaye .
Will never happen in a million years of course but if we had a manager tactically astute enough to play 442 we actually have a good 25 man squad on paper.

I wouldn't be suprised ed 025 if keane starts mate but he shoudnt be in the team just don't understand the logic in buying obrien and not playing him when that 20 million could of been spent in other areas like a winger who can take on the fullback i'm not expecting to win Saturday far from it but i expect a different approach in tactics we have the players to play counter attacking football not saying we will win every week but want to see some passion from the lads but for me i don't think dyche is the answer he done a good job last season yes granted but this manager is stubborn and the only tactic he seems to play is boot the ball up long and hope for the best just frustrating to watch he hasn't even got no plan b ?.

Mangala is decent Ron. He was to Forest for a season and a bit. Reads the game well and breaks up play like Idrissa but has much better physicality and passing. His feet and agility are decent for a big fella too. Certainly an upgrade on what we have but that isn’t hard. Maybe a little bit too deep a few for me though.
Don’t want any part of the others though. The striker seems very raw and runs into trouble more than anything.

Grass isn't always greener. But with all his faults he is probably the 1 I wouldn't of complained about if he had stayed never got a proper a go CB and got put at LB OR RB most times but did a job must be hard when 6.3ft and have tricky little wingers at 5.8 ft with pace turning u inside out. If DCL doesn't go or doesn't sign a new contract I would put him in the reserves. yes he could could play out of his skin for a season and for his new employer but I wouldn't give him that chance to get a big payday in a year's time. give the player's who have 3 or 4 year's on there contracts who are committed us. that's my opinion if you want to go then F OFF.
