I don't think it is at all likely but if were are tearing up the script and going for a young and progressive manager with modern ideas, I would look no further than the reliable and combative CM, Thiago Motta.

Great pedigree having played at Barcelona, Inter under Jose and PSG. He has won a couple of Champions Leagues, multiple league titles in different leagues and team of the season awards in La Liga and Ligue 1,

He then went into management at Genoa, taking over them when they were dead last and couldn't change their fortune.

Moved on and managed Spezia in Serie A, a team under a transfer ban and picked for relegation. After a difficult start, got things going and won manager of the month.

Moved onto Bologna, who whilst they aren't one of the main forces in Italy, have some better players to choose from than the previous e. g. Orsolini, Zirkzee, De Silvestri, Freuler, Ndoye, Saelemaekers and Ferguson. This enabled Motta to implement his style of play and has only seen them go from strength to strength.

He has now managed 73 games, W 34, D 23 and L 16. Goals F 102, Goals A 69, good +33. Not bad numbers at all.

He has since won manager of the month 4 times at one of the 'Italian minnows' and has a really interesting style of football, which is incredibly attacking but equally as aggressive and defensive when his teams do not have the ball.

I imagine he will be going to a top top club soon but if he is available, we should be going all out for him.

We have no chance of getting Motta BlueNose, he is as you rightly say doing exceptional well, but absolutely no chance he leaves CL football to come to us and his achievements ain't going unnoticed by the top top teams, only chance we would have of enticing is a lucrative contract and a warchest to build. None of which we have unfortunately nor a squad he could walk in and implement his ideas. Certainly be interesting seeing where he does end up tho.

Definitely Mocker. It is a shame we weren't in the same position as 5 or so seasons ago and then he may have been within our reach.

I think he is going to be up there with the best managers around soon enough.

It is definitely the right type of coach we should be going in for when we are a normal stable club.

Any manager worth his salt wouldn't touch everton with a barge pole, because unfortunately we are a basketcase on the cúsp of financial ruin.

We should have been in for these types years ago, unfortunately we have to ride out the next few seasons in survival mode, hoping we will get on more stable ground and go from there. For now any attractive type is a pipe dream in my humble opinion.

07 May 2024 19:03:12
Yep BlueNose and Scottish. Timing as a lot to do with it, we've missed/ messed our time. Bang on Scottish the next few seasons is very much about survival and wether we like it or not Dyche is the ideal manager to get us through this, ain't going to be pretty and am with you in the belief that a lot of people's opinions are pipe dreams but guess it beats the reality of our club.

Not sure how when or where or who but think the financial side will get sorted in a positive manner, wishful thinking and blind faith maybe but just have a feeling we will ride this out and someone will come in in a positive manner and get us on a even keel and move forward as a club.

I think/ know that we can come out the otherside of this IF we sort out our recruitment. For too long we haven't made profits on our players amd signed absolute dross for mega bucks.

I don't know what are scouting set up is but that is where I would invest some money into, because we don't seem to be aware of any other
markets offering value and quality.

Why we couldn't have signed Brightons recent recruits or Moyes's cheaper recruits at West Ham I don't know.

Getting depressed thinking about it, off to read some shipe about 777 to cheer me up.

There's not an awful lot of glimmers of hope around

We have Moshiri who might have come with the best intentions but took the worst advice he could, spent millions on poor players and agents and has given up on Everton and wants to get out with the best deal possible to him, with the total emphasis on him with no concern where it leaves us

We have the FA who will be criticised no matter what they do. Allow 777 to buy us and watch them asset strip us or ban them from buying and have us say they forced us into administration

We have a stadium near completion but it's costing far more than we can really afford with little or no hope of paying off the loan interest, let alone the capital

All we can hope for is a white knight riding to our rescue but I can't see them on the horizon but that's the only happy ending available to us

Moshiri won't help us
777 can't help us
The FA are helpless
The stadium will cost us.

WT realistically doesn't seem to exist with Moshiri, without evidence I admit but my suspicion is a certain Russian is still the prime mover. It just makes no sense that Moshiri is wedded so firmly into a 777 takeover.

My hopes. New owners with successful sporting background, financially stable, new DOF, manager, coaches, long term emphasis on youth development, slow 3-5 year climb up the table to regular top 6, exciting stylish play, full stadium a noisy fortress. My thoughts. Fekk all changes and doom and gloom ahead.

I understand the worry over administration however I just don't see Moshiri allowing us to go this way, it just isn't in his best interest.

If the worst happens and we do go into administration, this is the season to take the hit as we will likely stay in the Prem as I don't see us losing against Shefield and can't see Luton winning, therefore 9 point deduction and we are still safe.

If administrators are called in then they will look to run the business as best they can meaning trying to sell ( not to 777) , however they will have to asset strip so there goes our best players and potentially our new stadium.

There is a long list of creditors, however key is that 777 are way down the list as HMRC, Transfer money owed and other football related payments have priority.

I just hope there is a white knight on a charger out there, however our best option is Moshiri doing what's right for the club, while saving himself from a massive financial hit.

Hi Ed’s despite everything that’s going on finances wise, if we were to sell Branthwaite and Onana this summer raising some funds that hopefully we could use to bring.

Agree0 0Disagree

06 May 2024 18:44:50
As part of the above post
In some new players any info greatly welcome Ed’s.

{Ed002's Note - Not updated for a while, but:
Ben Johnson (RB) Out of contract in the summer - Feyenoord, Everton and Rangers are keen.
Harry Souttar (CB) Identified by Everton as a potential Branthwaite replacement in the summer - but it will depend on promotion/relegation, but he will be available as he is no more than a fringe player at Leicester. Seems an odd pick for Everton. May have an option in the Middle East.
Jake Clarke-Salter (CB) Agent has said the player could be seen as a Marc Guehi replacement by Crystal Palace or a Jarrad Branthwaite replacement for Everton. Prior interest of Burnley and Celtic may well have gone now.
Reece Welch (CB) Will be promoted to the first team from the U21s.
Yuta Nakayama (CB) Free Agent in the summer scouted by Everton.
Jake O'Brien (CB) Having a very good seasson in France so far and it may lead to an offer from Everton as a Jarrad Branthwaite replacement in the summer. They will continue to send scouts but he is not Home Grown which may be a concern.
Jacob Greaves (CB) Young Hull CB looked at on a number of occasions over the past year by ex-Leicester scout Jose Fontes on behalf of Roma. Seen as another potential Branthwaite replacement for Everton.
Dan Ballard (CB) Interest from Everton as a Jarrad Branthwaite replacement in the summer.
Nico Elvedi (CB) Prior interest of Roma, Wolves, Nice and West Ham has gone. An option for Everton but the player may not be keen.
Ronnie Edwards (CB) Watched by a number of PL clubs with Crystal Palace and West Ham stepping back. Everton may look to an early offer for the summer but Peterborough may ask a decent fee for him that is beyond Everton without sales.
Frank Onyeka (CM/DM) Versatile player who is happy with Brentford and the club are happy with him but he feels he should be a regular starter. Seen by Fulham and Everton as potential replacements for Palhinha and Onana and it is possible a loan might be considered. Fiorentina have been told he is not for sale but may return in the summer when they will be selling Amrabat on.
Emiliano Martinez (DM) The Uruguan plays for Midtjylland but has attracted interest from several clubs including Marseille who have held talks with his club and have been granted permission to speak to the player who they consider a suitable replacement for Matteo Guendouzi. Everton enquired after the player with his agents, and it could only be as an Onana replacement, given they have Garner as well. Unless paying over the odds it will be difficult to get a Work Permit to play in England. Basel offer an option with Xhaka and Frei now well in to their 30s. Player has said he wants to play in Italy.
Leander Dendoncker (DM/CM) Napoli are not interested in paying the €10M option and he will return to Aston Villa to be sold on. Everton offer an option to replace Onana.
Tom Krauss (CM) Relegation means Schalke will not sign the player. Darmstadt will request a loan. Looked at by Everton and Brighton but without paying over the odds a Work Permit may be difficult to obtain in England.
Merlin Rohl (CM) Scouted by Everton and Crystal Palace according to his agent.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (CM) Brighton are keen. Brentford and Fulham offer options. An Everton enquiry will go no where. I suspect one for the summer but promotion will be relevant.
Sammie Szmodics (AM/F) Having a great season in the Championship and has attracted scouts from West Ham, Everton and Leicester.
Alex Robertson (AM/CM) Has had a very good season on loan so far at Portsmouth and, if promoted, have a tentative agreement to keep him for another season at Fratton Park. Everton and Celtic have sent scouts to watch him but a move is unlikely.
Alex Matos (AM/RW) Having a decent loan to Huddersfield and has been attracting scouts from Everton - who are also tracking another Huddersfield player, Lille, Fortuna Düsseldorf and PSV at the behest of an ex Chelsea player. Chelsea will likely look to another loan rather than a sale with Bayer Leverkusen keen - but they may have a change of coach in the summer.
Luiz Henrique (RW) Aston Villa had a bid rejected in January but maintain an interest. I am not aware of an approach by Liverpool but he would provide good cover for Salah. Real Betis want to sell, or a short-term loan with an obligation to buy. That won't suit Everton.
Assane Diao (LW/RW) Real Betis youngster having a good season with scouts from Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle all attending a game against Valencia where he played well and since returning to watch him again. Everton have spoken with his agent but funds will be an issue. Real Betis want a new contract and to increase his Buy Out clause. Far from the finished article but you can expect an offer from Brentford who have been tallong to Betis about a deal for January.
Dodi Lukebakio (RW/F) Was wanted by Frank Lampard at Everton but the club refused to support a move and he moved to Wolfsburg on loan. Hertha can't resist a sale this summer due to relegation. As the player is scoring pretty regularly, Inter Milan are keen to take him as cover. Everton scouts did return to watch him against Werder Bremen.
Jack Harrison (W) Everton want a permanent deal but the player won't be interested if relegated.
Iliman Ndiaye (S/W/AM) Versatile forward who only joined Marseille in the summer of 2023 - but the goals have completely dried up. Everton have enquired after a loan but the player wants to stay in Marseille.
Boulaye Dia (S) Salernitana want to buy and resell Dia but the player wants to understand other options. Prior interest of PL clubs has drifted for now although Everton may maintain interest at the right price and but Milan must offer a better solution.
Wilfried Gnonto (F) Juventus have offered McKennie on a permanent deal for Gnoto. Manchester City want him as cover. Low-ball offer from Everton rejected. Inter offer a good solution with the departure of Correa and the player will likely be open to a return to Milan.
Che Adams (S) Potential interest of Everton and Crystal Palace.
Hugo Ekitike (F) Versatile forward that Eintracht Frankfurt have identified as a potential replacement for Randal Kolo Muani. Atalantinterest has gone. Lens offer an interesting option. Everton ideally want a loan with an option to buy but know with the growing interest of West Ham in finding a Scamacca replacement have made an offer.I expect West Ham to sound out his "representative", and I use the word in the loosest of meanings, and depending what they are told, approach PSG.
Brian Brobbey (S) Everton interest remains but so does their financial plight. Eric ten Hag has a remaining interest but I doubt that position is supported by the club. Ajax will not want to sell.
Kelechi Iheanacho (F) Roma are interested. Everton and Bournemouth have asked about his availability.
Maximilian Beier (S/F) Opted for a contract extension at Hoffenheim over a move to Brentford after a loan at Hannover. Everton and Luton have both sent scouts to watch the player.
Winsley Boteli (S) Kiddie who cannot move to England before next summer with Brentford, Everton and Brighton having sent scouts. This may allow Juventus to make an approach in January.}

Excellent info Ed02 as always.

Is there an equally long list of suitors for our current players? Anyone queuing up to buy Kean, Maupay, Holgate, Young, Gomes, Delli or any other over paid squad player?

{Ed002's Note - Jordan Pickford (G) Expected to stay unless Everton cannot sell Banthwaite and Onana.
Andy Lonegan (G) Free Agent in the summer.
Seamus Coleman (RB) Free Agent in the summer.
Nathan Patterson (RB) A third party is working on a return to Scotland with Rangers.
Ashley Young (LB) Free Agent in the summer.
Jarrad Branthwaite (CB) Everton want a new contract but Spurs, Manchester United and Newcastle have an interest. Ancelotti has spoken to Solari about him and scouts were sent to watch him against Newcastle, but Solari is not convinced that English players settle well on the continent. Manchester United will likely need a complete rebuild at CB with departures in the summer and so he will likely be an option. Spurs have a need for a CB. Newcastle has a compelling need to add one or two younger CBs. A wildcard would be Manchester City.
Ben Godfrey (CB/RB/DM) Versatile player who Newcastle, Sheffield United, Leeds and Spurs have an interest in. Atletico offer a wildcard option. Rangers offer a most unlikely option.
Mason Holgate (CB) Will return from Sheffield United to be sold.
Amadou Onana (DM/CB/CM) Only moved to Everton in 2022 and they are not looking to sell him but with troubles mounting they may have to listen to offers. West Ham interest has returned and Arsenal may look again after failing to agree alternatives, but they must now be seen as a wildcard option. Newcastle spoke with Everton in the summer and have failed to sign their primary DM/CM target and could return again this summer. Manchester United had him a long way down their list of targets but failed to sign preferred options in the summer and he may still be of interest, but I rather doubt it. Chelsea have him on a list of midfield options but not at the top, and Barcelona may look to some horse trading but they have to deal with their own financial issues. Real Madrid may look to a player plus cash deal, but he would largely be used as cover. Another wildcard could be Bayern Munich if the cannot sign Palhinho - but they will have a new coach in the summer. Everton will look to trying to raise £60M.
Abdoulaye Doucoure (DM/CM) Expect him to stay.
James Garner (DM/CM) Will be easy to sell and Srpurs need to replace Tanguy N'Ddombele and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Wildcard may be Newcastle.
Andre Gomes (CM) Out of contract in the summer. Wasserman will be looking for other options no doubt. Everton would be happy to have him leave in January to get his wages off the books.
Iddrissa Gueye (CM) Free Agent in the summer.
Dele Alli (CM/AM) It continues to go horribly wrong and I understand Everton want the entire distraction of Dele Alli away from the club on a permanent basis. He should be at his peak value yet he is worth nothing as he is out of contract in the summer. Some negotiation is required - particularly with Spurs if Everton want to avoid another issue with the PL, but Spurs will make it very difficult for Everton and demand all monies due after Everton rejected a deal they offered. A huge mess and a further loss for Everton.
Jack Harrison (RW) Will return to Leeds in the summer.
Arnaut Danjuma (W) His agent and Villareal wanted him out of his loan at Everton early with Lyon talking to his club. Player is very unhappy being a bit part player only but Everton were asking too much to terminate his loan so he stayed. That backfired rather. Will be gone in the summer.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (S) The second player tapped up by Steven Gerrard. The summer will be a decision point for the player who will be another the club are willing to sell in order to raise funds to avoid a third charge.
Beto (S) Agent has approached Juventus but they have preferred options for cover. Agent wants him to move on. Goals have dried up completely and Everton will look to a sale to recover at least some funds from the journeyman striker.}

With redards to 777, I am now becoming really worried about this lot and our club. The fact that the premier league are still open to the idea of them buying us if frightening. What the fuxx is the point in having a deadline, not meeting it then extending it, defeats the purpose.

There has to be some sort of fan demonstration at the ground or outside the PL hq, to bring more attention to this and stop it.

Either Moshiri is in on this or
absolutely blind to their schemes.
They are some of the worst owners

Agree totally. From bbc today “ Everton's prospective owners 777 Partners and the firm's co-owner Josh Wander have been accused of a "fraudulent scheme" by a lender in a civil court filing in New York.
Everton is the latest shiny object of Wander’s fraudulent scheme, solvency aside. ”
"Upon information and belief, Wander and [co-owner Steven] Pasko are operating a giant shell game at best, and an outright Ponzi scheme at worst, that takes money in from investors and lenders and shuffles it around to various money-losing alter egos in the enterprise to disguise their true financial condition. “
It will be out the frying pan into the sh1t….
